With one caveat, I loved this. I appear to fall on the more demented end of the Teen Wolf fanfic spectrum in really liking the Peter/Stiles pairing. The author does a great job here of moderating Peter's sociopathic qualities just enough to make a relationship with him feel credible without sacrificing the overall unscrupulous creepiness that makes him such an entertaining character.
And, man-oh-man is it hot. This story fulfills my established criteria for top-notch erotic fiction in that the sex serves a jumping-off point for a deeper exploration of the characters and their relationship. It is particularly fitting here because Peter is such a manipulative bastard it is impossible to imagine him entering into any relationship without head-games and mind-fuckery. Sex for him is manipulation. And in this story, Stiles is more than willing, matching Peter's moves and then upping the ante, taking an almost sadistic pleasure in throwing him off balance. I especially admired how the author charts their growing connection, how what began as a pretty cruel game deepens into real affection. This is one of those odd couples who will go on their first recognizable date only after months of sex and games.
As I said above I had one caveat, which was the ending. I didn't hate it or think it was a disaster, but I seriously questioned its necessity. BIG SPOILER
Fortunately, my problems with the end in no way ruined the story for me. This is a very hot, smart story about two lovers who like a lot of head-games to go with their sex, and honestly for me there is no better kind.

I’ve been pondering giving this fic 3 stars for the brilliantly hot idea alone. And I wondered if my disappointment with the execution is attributable to the pretty much mind-blowing Stiles/Peter adventure Clever Boy. But IMO there were too many plot- and writing issues to label Get Off (Me) anything other than ‘okay’.
The author started on a high. The concept of Peter using sex as a tool to manipulate and control the younger, unwilling Stiles is, of course, terrific. It allows for all the things I like best to happen: mind-fuckery, dub-con, power games, violence, D/s and roughness, you name it. And although I don’t think I’ve read a Stiles before that felt this ‘off’ (it takes a little more for Stiles to become Stiles than letting him cry out “oh my god” constantly), bad boy Peter was given a few excellent grin-inducing lines!
Bummer, bummer, bummer though that along the way, it became clear that the author really wasn’t going to pull off the disturbing dynamics she’d created for these two. She lacked both the imagination and skill to lift this story from the collection of random, repetitive sex scenes that it had become. For example; I’m a sucker for pinning down wrists and pinning wrists against and whatnot, so it’s somewhat telling that I caught myself thinking; “FFS, can we skip the obligatory pinning this time?”. Yes, this was mostly plot-less PWP and for that, the sex scenes were not descriptive, long and inventive enough.
With the words “I have no idea what’s happening in this fic anymore. Peter and Stiles are just doing what they want”, the author then stirred her story towards happier and sappier territory where everyone was .
The ending was downright aggravating, wrong in ways that Lilia already summed up in her more enthusiastic review (so make sure to read hers too). With the difference that I couldn’t overlook these things due to the aforementioned and also because the writing was definitely lacking in comparison to the majority of Sterek fics I’ve read so far. For example: the repetitive replacement names for Stiles ( ‘the teenager’) and Peter (‘the older man’ and ‘the werewolf’) tore me out of the story all the damn time. And I’m also really not a fan of stories where the only filler in-between sex scenes comes in the form of 'telling' and the characters are smexing it up big time after only a couple of pages. Not to preach abstinence or anything, but c'mon now, a story like this needs UST to build up the creepily hot anticipation!

Absolutely adored this Sterter fan fic. Peter and Stiles are so perfectly portrayed. One of my favourite fan fic reads. Hot, romantic and perfect.

The beginning was great...and overall an enjoyable read.
The end wasn't horrible...just 1 part watered down (Peter lost a little of his delicious evilness) and also, 1 part out there...there are spoilers already listed in other reviews. that mention it. It wasn't that I was against something like that in a fic, but it just didn't fit well with the rest of the story.
Overall I really enjoyed it.
OH...and for the record...there are Manties!

Okay, I didn't realize this was a re-read.
I had a couple moment that something sounded familiar, but it was very faint...and ya know, when you've read a bazillion Sterek/Steter fics...there are a lot of similarities that are gonna occur.
But I'm actually really glad about that, because I got to read this fic like it was the first time....and I'm bumping it up from 3 stars to 4. Okay..so maybe it didn't make a big enough impact on me that I remember it 3 years later...but come on...it's been 3 years and hundreds of Steter fics in between.
I enjoyed it like crazy. I really liked Peter. He wasn't a white washed marshmallow. He wasn't the villain, or walking to close to that line. He was still Peter. He didn't get all mushy and unrecognizable. I liked that he was usually out for his own personal interest. He helped when it amused him. He seduced Stiles, because it was fun. He wasn't expecting Stiles to sneak in and make him feel the feelz.
Lovely steamy scenes, and Stiles and Peter growing closer.

4.5 stars Daaaaaaamn this was good! If you need instant gratification, than you may not be a fan. It takes a looong journey, but the journey is oh so good. Don't get me wrong, they fuck. They fuck a lot, pretty much the whole first third of the book is just all fucking. But it works. And it's hot. And Peter is a manipulative evil asshole, and Stiles knows, and he acknowledges it, and accounts for it in his dealings with Peter, but he doesn't care. And it is So.Hot.
But then the feelz. Ooooooho the feelz. They sneak up on you, just like they sneak up on Peter and Stiles. Good stuff.
And then the drama. Damn, I know it was necessary, but damn. My only complaint is the unresolved stuff with Scott

When I’m not in the mood to embark on a long book- or my life is crazy busy- I can always rely on a good fanfic to satisfy my reading appetite.
And this one was amazing!

Long story with lots of sex. Usually not a bad combo, and it still isn't, but jeez, I don't know if I'm having a particularly bad ADD day or what, but I seriously had to skim some of the sex scenes. They just were not holding my attention and that really sucks because this writer's sex scenes are freakishly hot. The good news, though, is the story was good, which made skipping the hanky panky scenes not so bad.
I never thought I'd say this, but I think this particular story may have been better had it been shorter. Also, I wasn't paying attention and misread the tags, specifically the one that said “...Rape, Rape Recovery, but the rape is not Peter/Stiles, just so you know…”. I'm still relatively new to the concept of what a slash means in this context but I won't make that mistake again.
Though I liked this writer's style and plan on trying more of their fics, this just didn't entertain me the way I would have liked. More like a 3.5 star but I'll round up to a 4 star because the writer managed to do something I love and that was deftly manage point of view swaps. I tend to be a POV Nazi and will DNF a book for random POV jumps. God, just pick a character's POV for crying out loud, and stick with it for awhile. Want to change to someone else's? Fine, just make it clear to the reader you are changing. Shit, way off topic, sorry, ADD flair up, remember? But back to what I was saying, the writer did an awesome job when it came to choosing POV. The story was mostly told from Stiles's POV and Peter's POV and both were clearly delineated. But what I loved was towards the end, when we got some very short glimpses through the eyes of Lydia, the Sheriff, Derek, Isaac, and Scott. That really worked for me.

This book started as a one-shot and then grew legs, aka the "Peter and Stiles do whatever they want and I just type" universe according to the author. Lots of steter cameo sex scenes to start with but grows into something more intense.

What I love about fan fics is unless the charecters are crazy ooc or it's an AU an author has to deal with the cannon personality. It's rare that in a romance book the hero is legit evil or an asshole. Peter is an ass, and I love the idea of villains in love. Mr freeze was always my favorite villain since he was a romantic in his own evil villain way. So yes Evil in love is one of my kinks and this fic filled that lust.

My first Steter, and it won't be my last! This is an excellent entry in the Fuck Buddies Slowly Become Much More trope.
My only TW exposure is through a handful of Sterek fanfic -- and Google images just, you know, for the sake of research... 😂 -- so I was a little worried I might feel lost since Peter hasn't featured into most of what I'd read up to this point. But that was not a problem past the first two or three times Derek briefly wandered on page and there was a jarring lack of UST :)
The beauty of this Steter is all about being drawn to someone for exactly who there are, flaws and all. Stiles is constantly having to assure his friends that he is not being fooled by Peter. He knows exactly who Peter is. And he kinda likes it. This made an excellent case for how well their personalities fit together, and I loved that.
I feel like I'm extra sensitive to dub-con, and I would not classify this dub-con at all. However, there is a TW for This is usually something I can't handle, but it didn't trigger me here. Possibly because of the supernatural aspect of the plot? That definitely helps add a little distance from reality for me, but YMMV.
The aftermath/recovery gets more of the focus than the original event, and I thought that was handled pretty well. I just wish it hadn't been used as the final catalyst for the relationship growth. Just because it's obviously a pretty heavy topic, and I liked how natural the rest of the relationship growth felt, in contrast to how unnatural the pairing seemed from the outside. That's part of what made it so interesting. I didn't mind how it played out, but it doubled down on the "who knows where we'd be if things had happened differently", and I was really digging the flow of the relationship before that. I just wish the two plot hadn't been fused together like that. It would have been four stars otherwise.
