Love Conquers All

TW: Rape. This is my first time reading anything from this author, and this was as very sweet read. Writing about sexual assault is never an easy task, but I think Rayne pulled it off nicely.

Madison is sexually assaulted at a campus party which results in pregnancy. I applaud any woman who decides to bear a child born as a result of this kind of violation. Madison loves her child ferociously and unconditionally even though he is the spitting image of his father. The child, Ryan also has leukemia. Madison is a nurse who was able to get her degree as a result of a school cover-up and financial payoff.

Madison has a special patient to whom she's close but who also played a role in the aftermath of her attack. when he dies, he leaves her a house and money, but with the stipulation that she lives in it for a year with his playboy son Jax. If either party refuses to adhere to the terms of the will, they both forfeit their inheritances. Let the fun begin...

Initially these two can't stand each other but soon the attraction grows and the desire for one another escalates. Madison is naturally hesitant to get close to any man physically or emotionally as a result of her assault. Jax, upon learning of Madison's past, does not let that deter him, it simply changes his approach. He treats her with kid gloves being extra gentle and attentive, allowing Madison to control the pace of their physical contact. As a reader, you tend to get frustrated at certain points because of Madison's back and forth, but you have to remember that she is a woman learning to trust men again...

There are a few twists and turns along the way, some heart-stopping moments, and some a-ha moments. All in all, this was an enjoyable read with very few grammatical errors. I picked this book up via Kindle Unlimited and recommend to anyone looking for a sweet tale of love and overcoming the odds.

Unexpected Love

Madison had very few people in her life. It was hard for her to trust. A very harmful tragedy caused the trust to hit an all time low. The manipulation of an older patient in her care helped her soul heal and find the love she had been seeking. The same manipulation helped a son, Jax, find the missing pieces to his heart and that happily ever after...

Jax and Madison, swoon worthy!

I loved this story a lot. Jax was and is a great man after what he went through. They were both damaged people, and I was so happy they found each other in an unconventional way. Madison was a great mother and person going through what she did, I loved Ryan what a cutie. I will definitely reread this again.

I have found that some of the surprisingly best books I've had the good fortune to stumble upon have had not the enticing, half naked, ripped hero, but a beautiful flower. This was one of the best I've read so far this year, an extremely touching story
