Ajme Williams's latest release is heavily packed—all 290 pages. Her mafia romance begins as the typical type of trope most readers will be used to. Adelina is a feisty outspoken FMC that doesn’t like anything about her husband Raffaele. But what differs with this mafia romance is that there is an interesting underlying plot that is well developed under 300 pages. It didn’t feel rushed. What happens to Adelina at the front end of the story sets things off and influences and, in some ways helps progress the relationship with Raffaele. I like how it evolved; the spice between the two was also amazing.

Mate I really enjoyed this one! The story pulled me in straight away, the main characters were great, and the plot was super intriguing. My heart broke (as usual) for the FMC (she certainly went through it) but I loved that the MMC, despite him being a bit of a tool at first, stepped up big time when things got tough. Bonus points for actually thinking about stuff instead of just charging ahead like some MCs do. Solid read!

DNF - let a guy take over planning a wedding and you end up with an autumn color scheme at a May wedding. How hard would it have been to simply TEXT and ask what her favorite flower and colors were????

“Where did my anger go?” All he did was push me around and kiss me silly and i completely forgot that dude murdered my fiancé. Really? Yeah. That’s totally how women work.

He offers for you to sleep on the floor…. So you are supposed to get up and find a couch or a guest bedroom. Not just stay in bed with him. But she’s as thirsty as any prostitute. She has no idea that she’s supposed to make him work for it. Reward him for good behavior. No sexual favors until he treats her with kindness and respect. Instead he’s a dick and she’s jumping him. Which means he will ALWAYS treat her like an A hole. He has no reason not to.

I despise books like this…. Or characters i should say. I just want to slap all of them. Every single one.

But he’s supposed to be some sort of vigilante hero and she’s supposed to eat humble pie and apologize for misjudging him….. while he’s still an A hole treating her like crap.

Such a Good Book!

Adelina and Rafaelle
This was such a really good read! I have read a few of her books but this one was really good!
It has so much action and the storyline flowed really well! There were painful and revealed lies, romance and steamy love scenes. Also Rafaelle had blond hair and the cover of this title is what got my attention. Anyway the book has a beautiful epilogue.

🎶 “My lover's got humor. She's the giggle at a funeral. Knows everybody's disapproval. I should've worshiped her sooner” 🎶

Raffaele Varricchio (H) isn’t a husband. He’s a sentence. Twice her age and feared as the Devil of Little Italy, Raffaele becomes Adelina’s unexpected fate when her father trades her hand to save his crumbling empire. What should have been a wedding becomes a war. Her new home is a prison dressed in marble and gold. His new bride is a woman plotting his downfall.

─── .¸✿¸.•❤•.❀• THOUGHTS¸•❀.•❤•.¸✿¸.⋆ ───

“I hate you, okay? Don’t mistake that. I hate you with every fiber of my being because you are utterly vile. You torture and kill everyone who gets in your way. One slight and there’s no chance of forgiveness, no chance of redemption! You’re just a power-hungry, greedy scumbag, and your overreaching for power is going to be your downfall!”

GIRL GAVE ME NOTHING. Adelina had a valid reason to dislike him since she assumed he was the one who eliminated her husband (yes, that kind of eliminated 👀), but it wasn’t even him. Still, she brought major attitude, even though she was the one who agreed to the marriage for her father's sake. She was unnecessarily rude, and honestly, it wasn’t warranted (don't come at me... I stand by that). The reveal that her father was the villain behind everything was far too predictable. There was no real shock. The kidnapping honestly saved the book because that’s when she ended up stuck to Raffaele. And for good reason - he protected her and came to rescue her the moment he realized she was missing. The way she got her best friend OFFED was wild. It wasn’t her fault, but she did leave the house just to piss off Raffaele, and it ended up going terribly for her.

“Marry me properly. A real ceremony that you can plan—we can plan, together. A real thing that’s for us and how we feel rather than a business transaction.”

One thing about the kidnapping is that it actually brought them closer together. Even though they had already kissed on day one and there was some kind of lusty connection, they were still boring. Good thing I love the pregnancy trope!!!THAT ALWAYS SAVES IT.

─── .¸✿¸.•❤•.❀• OVERALL¸•❀.•❤•.¸✿¸.⋆ ───

Honestly, I didn’t care about their arrangement or whether they ended up together or not. Snooze. It wasn’t my cup of tea.

Dangerous Deception is a wild, gripping ride from start to finish! If you love high-stakes drama, intense chemistry, and twists that keep you on the edge of your seat, then this book is an absolute must-read.

The story combines several irresistible tropes—arranged marriage, secret pregnancy, and mafia romance—and blends them seamlessly into an engaging, action-packed narrative. The main characters, especially the male lead, exude a raw, magnetic energy that perfectly complements the heroine's fierce independence and vulnerability. The chemistry between them is electric and keeps you hooked throughout the entire book.

What really sets Dangerous Deception apart is the way the author weaves together the tension of the mafia world with the personal stakes of the characters. The arranged marriage setup adds a layer of complexity to their relationship, with emotional and psychological depth that is far more than just surface-level romance. And then, when the secret pregnancy twist unfolds... let’s just say it ups the ante and brings the drama to a whole new level.

The pacing is fast, the plot twists are clever, and the emotional moments will have you invested in the characters’ journey. The mafia elements are gritty and intense, but there's also a lot of heart beneath the tough exterior of the characters.

Overall, Dangerous Deception is a page-turner that’s hard to put down, with a perfect balance of romance, suspense, and danger. Fans of mafia romance and high-stakes love stories will not be disappointed. Highly recommend!.

Pascal Castiglioni sold his daughter Adelina to his sworn enemy Raffaele Varricchio.
Raffaele is more of an anti-hero he's a ruthless mafia boss, a force to be reckoned with a take no prisoners type of man especially if you cross him. He's dominating, protective, intensively possessive and powerful.
Adelina is kind, caring, loving but also has a defiant stubborn streak. She will do anything for her father to include walking down the isle to marry a man she calls a monster but she won't go quietly. I must say her father was skeevy and worse than a cockroach scurrying around in the dark.

This is a well written dark, dangerous and deadly mafia romance with many twist, turns and shocking revelations.

This story isn't for the weak, there is gore, there is blood, treachery, murder and attempted r*pe, loss of friends, innocents and the monsters can even be of the same blood.

First fiancé, Carlos is killed and now she must marry another to save her father and his businesses, she was sold to the monster who's responsible of slaughtering her first fiancé's family. Don't believe anything that meets the eye since everything is connected, and it has been going on for a long time. Carlos started his research and was killed but will the truth come out after his death, and will Adelina and Raffaele get the vengeance and set the record straight with the people of NYC???

Adelina Castiglioni, 25, only daughter of Pascal Castiglioni and his deceased wife Lucia.
Raffaele Varricchio, maybe late 40s to 50ish, Italian Mafia, from Rags to Riches, making an empire from his yearly years of wreckage and the loss of his first wife a decade prior to this story.

I liked this one more than I thought! There was good plot, I like how the author didn’t just gloss over the traumatic parts, she had the characters go through their emotions. I do feel it was a little superficial at times and a bit too long, but I enjoyed it overall.

Adelina and Raffael

Slow start and slow burn. Adelina is forced to marry Raffael to save her father’s business. Or that’s what she’s led to believe. Raffaele bosses her around and expects her to obey. She resists. They largely ignore each other for the first half of the book. There’s some back and forth sniping. They’re snarky to each other. Boring. No chemistry. They already feel like exes.

Raffael really doesn’t pay much attention to Adelina until she gets kidnapped. Then he suddenly realizes he has a wife he better get back or everyone will think he’s weak. That’s what he’s worried about the most - that the other mafia families will think he’s weak for losing his wife to kidnappers in the first place and he can’t let that happen so he’s motivated to find her. Oh yeah, he thinks he might love her too and he likes having her around. Things heat up and the plot moves along faster afterwards.

The characters really aren’t well developed enough for me to care what happens to them. I finished the book to see who the real villain was and what really happened to Adelina’s ex fiancé. Also the real reason her father forced this marriage was interesting. No 3rd act breakup.

Let me just say—I devoured this book in a single night. I knew going in I was signing up for emotional whiplash, spicy chaos, and some morally gray mafia madness… but Ajme Williams? She gave me that and ripped my heart out in the best, most addictive way.

From the second I read the first line—walking down the aisle toward the man who murdered her fiancé—I was hooked. Like, jaw-on-the-floor, “girl, WHAT are we doing?!” kind of hooked. And yet… I understood. I felt for her. Because what do you even do when your life isn’t your own, and you’re being handed off like a bargaining chip to the most dangerous man in the city?

Now, Raffaele? Whew. He is the definition of power, darkness, and untouchable command. He’s older, colder, and every bit the villain in the heroine’s story. But here’s the twist I didn’t see coming: I fell for him right alongside her. I hated that I did… but oh my god, I did. That slow, twisted unraveling of hate into heat, then obsession into… something that almost feels like love? Yeah. It wrecked me.

This isn’t a sweet story. It’s gritty, raw, and yes—dangerously addictive. The kind of book that blurs every line between pain and pleasure, right and wrong, love and survival. There were scenes that had me clutching my Kindle, gasping, going “oh no, oh no, girl, RUN”—but also not wanting her to, because somehow he meant it when he said he’d burn the world for her.

And when those two pink lines showed up? Let me just say: I squealed. Cursed. Then hugged my Kindle like it could help me emotionally prepare for whatever storm was coming next.

Dangerous Deception is for every reader who loves their romance dark, their heroes obsessive, and their stories soaked in sin, secrets, and silk sheets. I went in thinking I’d watch her destroy him.

Instead, I watched him destroy everyone else just to keep her.

And I’d read it all over again.

Staring down the aisle in white lace, I walk toward the man who murdered my fiancé.
My father sold me to him to settle a debt.
Now, I’m the mafia king’s trophy wife—owned, claimed, and ruined.

He’s twice my age. My family’s enemy.
And on our wedding night, he doesn’t ask.
He takes. His mouth. His hands. His rules.

I swore I’d destroy him.
Instead, I’m moaning his name while he ruins me in silk sheets.

This was never supposed to feel good.
But he’s sin in a three-piece suit.

Then I’m kidnapped.
Used as bait in a war I didn’t start.
But Raffaele doesn’t negotiate.
He burns the world down to get me back.

Just when I think I’ve survived the worst…
Two pink lines appear.
And the Devil’s baby becomes my darkest secret yet.

This contemporary dark mafia romance is page-turning with exceptional world-building that is engulfed by darkness, danger, violence, and grit, and characters that are alpha, exuding power, ruthless, dark, dangerous, violent, obsessed, possessed, captivating, and realistic. Their journey is enthralling with dangerous deception, an arranged marriage, a secret pregnancy, mature explicit romance that is consumed by steamy, sizzling passion, lust, desire, and spice with all the feelings to leave readers breathless and begging for more, drama, suspense that will leave readers on the edge of their seats, heartfelt emotions, action, adventure, kidnapped, and more. I recommend reading this book by an extraordinary author who knows how to captivate her readers' hearts and attention with dangerous deception and an explicit dark mafia romance that is sure to transport readers into a world that is wildly dark, dangerous, lustful, sinful, and unforgettable.

Dangerous Deception by Ajme Williams delivers a fiery blend of romance, intense chemistry, and high-stakes drama, perfect for fans of age-gap, arranged marriage, and mafia tropes. The story centers around Adelina, a young woman forced into a marriage, and Raffaele, a ruthless mafia king who claims her not just as his bride but as his own.

What makes this book shine is Raffaele himself. He’s commanding, protective, and intensely possessive—the classic alpha antihero with a soft spot buried under layers of dominance. His passion practically scorches the pages, and this dangerous magnetism anchors the story. Adelina, on the other hand, brings a contrast of innocence and attempted rebellion. While she may come off as naive, given her mafia upbringing, her efforts to stand strong add tension and heart to the plot.

If you’re in it for the emotional angst and spicy scenes, you won’t be disappointed. The plot moves quickly, with plenty of twists and emotional revelations that keep the pages turning. Overall, Dangerous Deception is an addictive read with a possessive hero you won’t forget. As always, read the trigger warnings.

Finding the Love and Happiness She Deserves -
Adelina was still grieving the death of her fiancé when her father informed her she would be marrying, Raffaele, whom she was told had killed her fiancé. Raffaele agreed to the business marriage arrangement, but he soon started questioning the terms of the agreement. The start of Raffaele and Adelina’s married life didn’t go smoothly, as she blames him for her fiancé death, but everything changed after she was kidnapped and he not only rescued her, but also helped her deal with the post traumatic stress.

Unfortunately, Adelina’s father used her love for his to lure her into a trap, as Raffaele’s investigation into him was unraveling all his plans. The last thing Adelina expected was to find out everything her father had told her were lies and that he in fact was the monster she should fear and not Raffaele. Nevertheless, Raffaele did everything within him power to not only rescue Adelina, but also destroy her father’s plans permanently, whilst finding a way to help all the people who had directly or indirectly been hurt by her father.

OMG! Get ready to embark on the most captivating reading adventure of your life, that had betrayals, steamy encounters, action-packed moments, brutality and a twist in the story that I never saw coming. There was underlying tension from the beginning of the story, which got thicker and darker with each page turn. Love Versus Hate. Light Versus Darkness.
These are just two of the powerful themes that dominate Ajme Williams’ latest installment in her darkly seductive Mafia Lords of Sin series.

In Book 7, Williams delivers a masterclass in dark, dangerous, and twisted storytelling. This is not just a mafia romance—it’s a storm of power, betrayal, obsession, and control, laced with deadly stakes and shocking revelations. There is a thin line between love and hate. Between possessed and obsessed.
Or. Is. There?

Raffaele and Adelina’s tale is one of brutal beginnings—a marriage arranged in shadows, a secret baby born of chaos, and a family torn apart by betrayal. Adelina Castiglioni suffers devastating loss at Raffaele Varricchio’s hands, but Raffaele remains unmoved—as long as he gets what he wants. And what he wants… is her.

But is Adelina’s view of Raffaele shaped by the whispers and warnings from the darkest corners of the underworld? Or is he truly the savage monster she’s been warned about?

A story of high crime, hubris, peril, and passion—this book grips you from the first page and refuses to let go.

Dark. Mafia. Bratva.
Fall. In. Love. Every. Time. You. Read. Ajme Williams. ~ QS

This is the 7th story in Mafia Lords of Sin Series where Raffaele finds himself in an arranged marriage to Adelina whose father doesn’t want to be removed by Raffaele and his growing power. Adelina is grieving the loss of her fiancé and told by her father she’s to marry Raffaele for much needed funds. His true intentions are something no one will see coming all for power and wealth. When one unusual situation after another occurs the Irish seem to be there causing Raffaele problems to resolve and his right hand-man, Vito is right there to help. The marriage shows Raffaele as a commanding and protective man and Adelina decides to sneak out causing a devastating loss. It’s wonderful to see a harden mafia boss show his caring and feelings when all he wants is to help Adelina heal and recover. As those who are ready to strike against him, Raffaele becomes hunted and will do what’s necessary to keep Adelina alive and safe by removing the darkness and danger. This was honestly just fine. There was nothing really special or exciting about it.

Raffaele is known as the ruthless and brutal mafia don around town. Adelina's father gives her to Raffaele in marriage for their protection and to help their family name survive any potential threats. However, Adelina knows that Raffaele killed her former fiancé and she knows of his brutality and hates him for it. Raffaele has to convince her that he is not the man she thinks he is to make their marriage work.

This was just fine. The characters weren't my favorite so I found it difficult to be invested in them. Adelina was SO SO naïve and it was frustrating. I find that I like the heroines in mafia romances to be just as badass as their heroes and if they can't be badass, I want them to at least know the score.

Not only that but there wasn't a ton of romantic development. No dates, no moments of real intensity that brings the couple closer. Nothing.

It was a perfectly adequate read but I wouldn't recommend it.

I will always read the following romantic tropes:
- mafia romance
- arranged marriage
- secret pregnancy
- he falls first

So when a book has all of these I’m there. Adelina is the daughter and only child of a mid level mafia family. She has accepted her responsibility that she must marry into another Italian mafia family for the good of her own. So when her first fiancé is murdered she doesn’t protest when her father promises her to another Mafia head.

Raffaele is the Mafia head that’s striking fear in the hearts of other mafia families. He settles disputes by wiping out entire families so he’s built a reputation…and Adelina believes he murdered her fiancé. Their arranged marriage starts the book off.

There’s a lot of action, intrigue, and spice in this book…but it’s all balanced and furthers the story. You also come to realize that Raffaele is not what his reputation is as he falls for Adelina.

The twist with her father at the end makes the book! Definitely reading more in the series because this was a great palate cleanser. Borrowed this from Kindle Unlimited.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK

This book managed to get me out of a few weeks of book slump
I loved everything about it the characters were amazing no childish behaviour, no annoying personality.
I especially liked how the pace of the book was just perfect not fast but not slow, just right that i honestly dont there is any scene that was unnecessary.
The author didn’t dwell on stupid things that didn’t add to the story, the intimate scenes were just right not too much of like some books where 60% of it is just that.

It was a true arranged marriage where it actually happened at the very early stages of the book. The plotttt was CHEFS KISS i loved how the story was balanced between love and action it is one of the few books where i was so excited to discover what happened it was so intriguing, and although there is a pregnancy it is at the very very end so i think even if u dont like that u will be fine with it, also the dead wife trope is mentioned halfway through i personally don’t mind it and i dont think it affected the story that much.

Raffaele and Adelina. Shes to marry the man who killed her fiance. Promised by her dad. Something is off with her father. She sneaks off to go out with her friend Marie. She and her BFF Marie are taken. He'll burn the city down.
Theres mafia chaos. Kidnapping. Torture. Secrets revealed. Lies are revealed. Betrayal. Deep, self blaming guilt. A dark obsessive, protective, alpha mafia male whose heart is twisted but he takes care of the innocent and the people he cares for. He is ruthless and mafia personified but on the other hand he is kind and generous to the people who deserve it. Its like hes two diferent people never one without the other. You will love this story but be prepared for the various emotions that take hold. By the way at half way through the book I have a theory what her father is doing and has done and why. See what you think then hold on till the end.

Wow, I just finished reading this intense and spicy story about arranged marriages! It's about a girl whose fiancé was tragically murdered, and her dad sets up another marriage with the man behind the murder—but things are not what they seem. There’s a really heartbreaking scene that made me tear up, and when you find out that someone close to her was involved in her kidnapping, it totally shocks you. Her husband’s care for her really shines through after everything that happens. The chemistry between them develops slowly, but I got the feeling he was the first to want more. When she gets kidnapped again, he would do anything to get her back, especially now that she's carrying his baby. They go through so much together, and learning that her father was behind it all was heartbreaking. In the end, justice is served, and there's a beautiful new beginning—just a wonderful ending with a baby girl and so much hope for the future!.

This one is Raffaele and Adelina's story. This is one book where I truly felt the male characters had no redeemable characteristics. Adelina's father was creepy & icky from the beginning. I couldn't tell if he had feelings for his daughter or just got off on the control. Raffaele made an attempt at redeemability but didn't quite make it. His right-hand man, Vito seemed to have some decent qualities. That being said, not all "heroes" are redeemable. Adelina waffled between a strong female and scared little girl. There were times I liked her and times I wanted to scream at her to grow up. The good part was she was strong with Raffaele. The story itself was truer to life of the darkness of the world. This is a fast paced story and I couldn’t put it down. Adelina has just lost and buried her boyfriend, Carlos, murdered by Mafia king, Raffaele, and now her father is telling her she has to marry him! She hates him but to help her father out she agrees, she feels like a prisoner and makes a terrible mistake which causes her trauma and loss of her best friend. Raffaele, while possessive, shows her kindness after the ordeal and she begins to see he is not the monster she believed him to be. Things happen that puts Raffaele on the alert and has her father looked into and what he discovers puts Adelina in danger. Ajme again writes a story full of alpha males, women who find their voice, drama, heat and page turner. Always look forward to reading her books.

I loved this book reading the story it was one that keeps you engrossed, arranged marriage claiming mafia properties and erasing the family line. Adelina was engaged to be married to Carlos instead it was a funeral for him and his family. Adelina is painting while in mourning, her father made a deal with Raffaele Varricchio, and now Adelina, is engaged again and this time to Raffaele, has a mean streak, when he seen a picture of Adelina Raffaele agreed it started off as a contract a business deal. It was a slow heat then once it started it turned explosive.

So Good!

I'm not sure what to say about this story except I loved it from page one.Raffaele was dark and intense and set in his ways but when he met Addie his heart was breaking bit by bit.She may of hated him at first, but it didn't stop him,it made kinder, patient for her only.I felt bad for Marie and Addie's mom and even Raffaele 's first wife,if it wasn't for Carlos's hard work and determination, no one would know about what Addie's father was and what he was doing,he thought only of him self, forget about family.I hope there is more stories to come by this author, maybe something for Vito or Cartina!

Before Adelina had a chance to recover from the death of her fiancé she now finds herself marrying the man she believes is responsible to protect her father. She is determined that he will feel the wrath but as the event unfold she realizes that there is a lot she doesn’t know.

Raffaele is a powerful man who is determined to protect what belongs to him and that includes Adelina whether she wants it or not. What began as an arrangement turns into so much more as they will have to work together to determine who is friend and who is foe.

Adelina and Raffaele take us on a suspenseful and action-packed adventure as they find themselves fighting for their lives and each other.
