Author Alan Petersen has written the perfect novel.

It may sound strange, but this novel about a Central American sex trafficking ring was refreshing. Petersen combines brilliant imagery and a fast pace with just enough historical details to make it an A-Plus read.

Avid readers like me not only love a great mystery, but we also appreciate a story with teeth. Some novels are fun, but lack substance, while others get bogged down with information. This novel had the right balance of thrills, mystery, character development, stakes, and pay off. Couple that with a solid hero and villain, and you have it all.

Former CIA Paramilitary Operative Pete Maddox, unfairly disgraced after taking the fall years ago for a botched operation in Venezuela, now discharged of official duties, goes off the grid, breaking the rules to take out the bad guys. His latest target, the criminal overlord of a central American drug and sex trafficking cartel, who is so ruthless it makes you want Maddox to win at all costs.

The struggle between good and evil ensues, with underhanded and murderous “recruiters” of the sex ring luring aspiring young women who have their dreams and their virtue snatched from them. The riveting real-life details of their plight will keep you rooting for them, and Maddox, to the very end.

Like Rocky on steroids

Every person would just love to rid the world of filth. This one struck a chord with me and I wanted to join Maddox in his purging of this filth. This is the thing that would excite me more than reading this novel. Well done on all kinds of levels, suspense, great character development, and most of all no annoying misspellings and shoddy English. Readers you are in for a real treat.

Pete Maddox is back and this time it's personal. The author takes us on an action-packed adventure that has former CIA operative, Pete Maddox, clashing with a vicious drug cartel that deals in human trafficking. The pacing is fast and intense. The dialogue is snappy and smart. Maddox is a great, no-nonsense character who can be inventive in getting the job done.
