Wedding bells are ringing at Dormir! Zouzou has come home with her closest friends, radiant and six months pregnant, for a week of celebrations before her big day. But her joy is shattered when her groom’s best man plunges to his death off the famous cliffs of Cassis—and the medical examiner proves he didn’t fall… he was pushed.
Now her husband-to-be is the prime suspect, and Zouzou’s dreams of a perfect wedding are about to blow up in her face. Desperate to clear Pierre’s name, Maggie knows she must uncover the truth—even if the truth reveals that none of them knew Pierre nearly well enough. As she delves deeper into the lives of the wedding party, Maggie unravels a tangle of secrets and betrayals that threaten not just Zouzou’s future but reveal bombshell revelations about Maggie’s own family.
The champagne is chilling, the guests are on their way, and time is running out. With the big day looming, Maggie must hurry to catch the killer—before he strikes again and destroys everyone’s happily-ever-after.
Murder in Cassis is a heart-pounding mystery that blends emotional family drama with shocking twists into an unputdownable page-turner that will keep you guessing until the final page.
I feel like I've grown up with Maggie, maybe like her older sister, reveling in her risky adventures, finding the culprits in every book! This one is #27 (and I just ordered #28 to be delivered in July 2026). Note the first mystery in the series, Murder in the South of France was published in 2001 so I've been following Maggie for 24 years!
What a wonderful book. I never have enough superlatives to review any of the author's books, but the Maggie Newberry series is just the best.
As usual the location plays a big part in the story. I can't believe I never visited Cassis...being just 12 miles from Marseilles my point of embarkation when I flew home from the best time ever in France! Cassis looks like a great place to visit especially to see the cliffs and calanques in the national park. Maybe next time?
Once again Susan has written a fantastic book. Unique characters. Making me think and wonder who committed this crime! I love how she misdirects with why several characters could possibly be the murderer. A great read!
I have read all of the books in this series from SKL and really like the cosy murder side of it. I found some parts long and drawn out saying mainly the same thing with different words. The story is good and I was able to find the murderer before the end of the book. I like the back stories of all the characters.
I enjoyed reading this book with all the twists and turns. Awesome read as I couldn’t put it down. These books are always a great read. I will tell my friends for sure.
