A second chance rockstar romance about battling life after loss.
Five years ago I found a family that completed my universe. Broken Compass became more than just a band I wrote about for the paper, they became my best friends.
Though it always felt like there was something more with the lead singer, Atlas Woods. We didn't start off on the right foot, but he let me peek into his sentimental side, the part of him that created music for the soul.
Then everything changed.
Tragedy separated us.
Five years later I'm tasked with covering the band’s tour at the height of their career. But spending this much time with them–with Atlas–is unearthing secrets and emotions we've all kept buried for too long.
I just don't know if we can heal the damage that's been done. I don’t know if he can love me despite the mistakes I made in my grief.
But the undeniable fact remains that the love we felt still hums between us.
The spice doesn’t hit until the last 20% but you aren’t going to give a shit (you will when you get to it because you’ll want more because it’s hot af) because the plot is THAT good, the side characters stand on business, and the tension, yearning, and relationship growth between the FMC & MMC will have you HOOKED.
This book was so much more than I expected. A slow burn with so much depth. Atlas and Layla are meant to be but life circumstances and trauma get between them. He’s had his eye on her forever and ruins everything. Will he get her back? Love how the writer makes you feel like you’re living the characters emotions. Who doesn’t love a book that makes you feel like you’re watching a movie?
My girl Marisa does it again! There were so many things I loved about this book! It also gave me Daisy Jones vibes! I do wish the build up to their relationship before the fall out had a little more substance to it but that’s prob a me problem. It was a beautiful story and it even made me tear up!
I really enjoyed this book! It is a second chance rock star romance! Need i say more? It has found family and always a loss in it. It’s beautifully written and i def recommend you read this!
I have been sitting on this book for MONTHS since I beta read it and I am soo excited it it finally released and out for everyone to enjoy!
This book center around Atlas and Layla. The MMC Atlas is the lead singer in a band trying to make it big. Layla is trying to also break into the music industry but as a writer/reporter. Both of them end up running into each other a few times and Atlas just can’t seem to get his Rosie off his mind. There is also an awesome found family that is developed between the band and Layla and her best friend. The BANTER between these characters had me giggling.
In the midst of what seems like all of their hopes and dreams coming true a tragedy strikes their found family friend group. This leaves all of them dealing with their issues in different ways. Layla and Atlas go YEARS without seeing each other until once again they are brought together through their careers and this time… Atlas does not want to let her get away again.
I thought the difficult topics of this book were handled well and some of the twists had me gasping while reading. This book is a mix of romance, drama and healing that I was not expecting but loved. Along with amazing music!

Well she’s done it again! Haartz knows how to imbue her stories and romance with a depth that sometimes others in the genre miss out on.
Rose tattoo gave us a deliciously sloww burn between the broody, mysterious, but full of genuine depth rockstar -Atlas Woods- and the artsy boss babe -Layla Grayson.
She also took it a couple steps further and delivered a plot riddled with found family, grief, trauma/healing, and forgiveness.
Loved this so much!! I loved the love story but the banter and connection between all of the characters/friend group is what really hooked me. I am a side character lover for life, and this book gave me all the warm fuzzies and laughs that I need from a book! If you love Mia Sheridan, you’ll love this one too.
I really enjoyed this story, well done Marisa! I wish we got a bit more build up for their relationship before the falling out but otherwise this was very well done.
