This week-end I've been enjoying these "Mind Candy" novellas (130 pages). They are all cute and sweet in their own way, but also very different. This book is also a part of my Nook library and I've awarded it 5 "Violet" Stars.
This is the third book in this series that I've read and I'm about to buy the fourth.
What do I like is an easy question to answer. I love the clean language; I love that there isn't any profanity; I love that there are no explicit sexual scenes and I love the characters.
When I finished the first book I was very disappointed that the story was cut short. I wanted to read more about the characters and their lives. After 3 books I now know that the author continues the family story as she tells the story of the new character that the particular book is about.
This is a story that I'd give to my high school age daughter or to a good friend that hates profanity or descriptive sexy scenes. I've loaned books to friends that found such books embarrassing. Now I can refer them to a nice clean story.
Violet is the third book in the Come-by-Chance Mail Order Brides series, following Ruby and Emily. (Although the books stand alone, the characters carry over, so it's best to read these in order. If you haven't read Ruby and Emily yet, I suggest you start there.) This has so far been my least favorite book in the series, although I very much liked that there was a somewhat new formula to the plot line in this one. (Ruby and Emily had what I felt were similar plot lines, just with different details.) So I liked that this one was quite a bit different, but I have to say that I found it to be highly predictable. Still, I very much enjoy this series. The books are very short and they are quick reads, and I plan to continue reading in the series.
How do you tell about love and the people who are going to be more than happy. What a good story about love and the way the problems of love and life go. This whole story is filled with all of the wonders of the Come By Chance Mail Order Brides story and about Violet. Another great story by Juliet James LCR
I've enjoyed reading these sweet short novels about love, hardships, hope, and faith. It's great to have clean stories of romance. I enjoy the short chapters so I can take a break if I need to. I'm looking forward to reading "Kate" and the other books that follow since I went ahead and bought the series. Looking fwd to more from this author.
This one disappointed me, but good. I liked the feel of the first two, but this one felt rushed and sloppy. It was like the wedding from Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, but not as well-done. I will read the next installment, but I hope it gets back to the Mail Order Bride angle and not shoehorning it in as an afterthought.
These books are just adorable. They are simple, clean feel good books with nice plain old style country humor. I am enjoying this series. One to the next one!
A new favorite author to add to my list. This is the third book so far I have read in the series . Although I enjoyed the first two This book was my favorite . I love all the three brothers Ben, Matt , Toby , and all the characters and can't wait to read the books in the series . I like the way the author leaves you with a glimpse into the future at the end of each story .
There are many twists and turns on the road to happiness for Ben and the woman he loves.
I enjoyed this book. It was another quick read. This small town is busting with brides and grooms. Who will be the next lady to take a change for an adventure in Montana? What is in store for that skunk Slim Jim? I'll keep reading the next books to find out.
Western romance. If you're sensitive to human trafficking, be warned. Very light description of sexual events, but mainly stayed clean. I loved the characters, and thought the bad guy would have behaved and responded more violently, it was still a good story. I read the first 4 in the series, and look forward to reading the rest.
This was much better than the first two in the series. This centers around Ben and will he marry the woman, Violet, that he has been corresponding with? It also is about Slim Jim and will his evil ways ever come to light? I did enjoy this one. I’m hoping that the next story continues holding my interest. Only time will tell
The love story of Violet and Ben. Ben is noe writing letters to Violet. The litter try to stop Ben from love her or want to marry her. Meanwhile Toby is try to memory what happen to him. Can Ben find love and will Toby remember? Great story.
I liked it okay and especially sally and mr wilkinson. I loved most of the characters but about halfway through I figured out who violet really was. I read these books because I like matt and ruby and toby and emily. I really keep reading to see what brings emmy lou to chance . I was glad about what happened to slim jim. I adore toby.
Violet, book 3 is well written story of life in Montana filled with romance, outlaws and ranching. I liked how this story kept me guessing all the way until the ending. My recommendation is for the reader to read the series.
I just loved reading Ben and Lettie's story. Am glad they finally got together truly a great story full of action and great characters and great descriptions of places and sites.
I loved this book! I have been waiting for Lettie and Ben's story since the first book, and the way it played out was absolutely perfect! Already starting the 4th book now. :)
Why do I keep reading books from this series? My only excuse is I got them for free, I guess? No clue.
Not good writing. The characters are ridiculous and I can't bring myself to get emotionally invested in any of them. Now, please keep in mind I started with book 7, then jumped to book 3. Maybe if I started with book 1 like I should have I would not be rolling my eyes so hard. But I doubt it. These books are silly. The men are even more ridiculous than the women, and the premise of this one is possibly worse than the first one I read. It made me rather fondly think of Opal because Violet was a real stinker.
Ben wants a mail order bride. Lettie writes his letters for him and reads them because he is illiterate. Ok, not judging. But she loves him, he loves her, and there is some nonsense about her live in / husband / outlaw, a pie contest that is a total sham (I mean, seriously, with that reveal I almost threw the iPad across the room) and other assorted stupid plot lines that I can barely remember 2 days later. All the hallmarks of a terrible book. And a hidden identity plot that even a blind person could see a hundred miles away.
I must have done something terrible in a past life as a mail order bride because I just keep reading them. If you love mail order bride stories, I have many others I can recommend, but stay away from this series unless you like nonsense.
The best of the Comebychance mail order bride series. This one really shows you the warmth of the town and you get to know the characters even better! You really can't review one book in this series. Each is short and connected to the others. Read them in order....very heart-warming. While the author asks us not to give anything away, I figured out the mystery abot 1/3 of the way in, but love how it add d to the story. This is a nice romantic series without the steaminess or explicitness. Suitable for any age. Though, as with most romance books, sometimes love happens too fast. In this book though not all love happens fast. I felt good about that.
