Remnants by Betty Bolte combines romance, suspense and paranormal in a perfect blend. This is book two in the Ghost Of Roseville series and it is another great book.

Paulette O’Connell lives with her sister, Meredith, in the bed and breakfast plantation they inherited. She is trying to get her costume and home design business up and running successfully. She needs the income to secure a future for her unborn child, whose father left after discovering that Paulette was pregnant. She is also trying to maintain her new found relationship with her sister. They were not always close, but they have settled their differences and are learning to get along.

The sisters can both see ghosts and they have had some experience dealing with the spectral entities. When Paulette accidentally reads a spell from a book she found, she releases her grandfather’s ghost. She has no idea how to send him into the light, and he will not tell her. He just tells her she must figure out why she needs him before he can go back. She so does not need to deal with this right now.

Zak Markel is in search of the missing ingredient for the Elixir Of Life to try to save his brother, Grant, from going blind. His research has sent him and his brother to Roseville, looking for answers and clues. What he does not expect to find in Roseville is the love of his life, Paulette. Although he knows that she feels a strong attraction to him, he does not know how to convince her that they were meant to be together.

The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read. Betty Bolte is a master of descriptive writing and pulls you in so that you feel like you are right there, watching things from the sideline. The characters are well developed and well rounded and I could see character growth from book one. The are new characters introduced and they are important to the story line. And they would make good characters to write about in future books.

I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy paranormal romance/suspense books. It pulls you right in and keeps you turning pages, needing to know what is going to happen next.
I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for a honest review. And my honest opinion is that this is a great book.

Remnants Ghosts of Roseville Book 2, By Betty Bolte, is my ninety-eighth book that I have received and read from Goodreads. This is the first book that I have read from this author.
This book is about Paulette, a soon to be mother, who has to move in with her sister Meredith, who she really did not get along with. They seemed to settle their differences. Paulette moves in with sister because the baby's father walked out on her when he found she was pregnant. Meredith has a bed and breakfast plantation that they inherited. Paulette is trying to get her costume and home design business running successfully.
Both the sisters can see ghost. Paulette accidentally read a spell from a book she found in the attick. She releases her grandfather's ghost, and she can't find a way to send him back. Her grandfather will not tell her how to send him back. He tells her that she must figure out why she needs him before he can go back, and that she is the only one that can send him back.
Two brothers rent rooms at the bread and breakfast. Zak Markel is searching for the missing ingredient for the Elixir of Life, to try and save his brother Grant from losing his eye sight and going blind. His research has sent him and his brother to Roseville to look for answers and clues to cure his brothers sight. What he finds and was not looking for is the love of his life Paulette. Paulette feels a strong connection to Zak, but because of the baby she feels strongly against him. Zak has to convince her that they are ment to be together.
The author Betty Bolte does a great job of making you feel like you could be one of the characters in the story. I would recommend this book to anybody that enjoys reading romance and suspense with a twist of paranormal thrown in.
I would personally like to say Thank You to Betty Bolte for taking the time to sign my book, giving me book markers and post cards on book one. I would also like to thank her for taking the time to congratulate me for winning a copy of her book with a synopsis of what book is about. I would definitely be buying Book 1, of this series and read more from this gifted writer.

I usually have a hard time getting into books about ghost but Betty made it really exciting and fresh.

Paulette is a focused, semi-lost, soon to be mother. Having to move in with her sister, who she really doesn’t get along with, after her baby’s daddy walked out, she’s lost and trying to find her place in life.

Zak has one mission in life, save his brothers sight. Drawn to Roseville in search of answers Zak finds himself drawn to Paulette.

Watching these two fall in love is a reminder of gentler times. Well maybe, sometimes I really wanted to scream at Paulette. I know she has been hurt but she takes it out on Zak sometimes. I love the grandfather’s ghost, so adorable and throw the funniest tantrums.

This is a great book to read and I have added the first of this series to my TBR list.
