Amber Kell has made a career out of daydreaming. It has been a lifelong habit she practices diligently as shown by her complete lack of focus on anything not related to her fantasy world building.
When she told her husband what she wanted to do with her life he told her to go have fun.
During those seconds she isn't writing she remembers she has children who humor her with games of 'what if' and let her drag them to foreign lands to gather inspiration. Her youngest confided in her that he wants to write because he longs for a website and an author name—two things apparently necessary to be a proper writer.
Despite her husband's insistence she doesn't drink enough to be a true literary genius she continues to spin stories of people falling happily in love and staying that way.
She is thwarted during the day by a traffic jam of cats on the stairway and a puppy who insists on walks, but she bravely perseveres..
This is the second book in the Moon Pack series it was a quick fun read. Ben is a lone wolf far away from his old pack, and searching for a mate. When he goes to Silver's club he meets Thomas. Right away they recognize they are mates and despite some initial misgivings because of Ben's lone wolf status the men mate and claim each other. Everything is going good for them until Dillon arrives to claim Ben, his mate. Ben was in love with Dillon but when Dillon didn't claim him he gave up that dream. Now he's got two men saying he's their mate, he loves them both and has no idea what to do. Luckily with the help of Silver and Anthony, the pack Alpha and his mate, the guys figure out how to make their relationship work. This book was a lot better then the first one and I love a good ménage I would have liked more sex scenes.
I am very glad that I decided to read further than the first installment. I really enjoyed this second book in the series and it gave me a better idea of the flow of these short stories. I adored Ben, Thomas, and Dillon. Plus, watching the havoc Anthony is causing for their alpha was hysterical. This was a fun story and now I'm looking forward to more.
There was really no story here (most of Story revolves around Silver and Anthony from book 1) this one two guys meet are mates have sex... oh couple weeks later here is 3rd mate more sex. Then slight conflict with Ned resolved in a page cause of Anthony and the end
This is the second book in the Moon Pack series and while it suffers from terrible editing issues it was a quick, fun read.
Ben is a lone wolf, far away from his old pack, and searching for a mate.
The story starts in typical shifter form with the men meeting and mating but then the complication of a third mate comes up. Thomas and Dillon take a bit of time to accept the situation but by the end of the story they've all realized they are indeed tri-mates. There are a couple of humorous scenes and some hot sex scenes in this story. Overall a nice continuation of the series that could be so much more enjoyable if it had been edited right. Still I liked it and will be reading the other stories in the series.
Opinion for new version: After reading the new version, my opinion stands. Ben is a half wolf/half fae who walks into Silver's club finding a mate -- and he catches Thomas's eye. I like the story in the beginning UNTIL another mate of Ben, another wolf named Dillon, come to the picture. I'm not really a big fan of tri-mates :(. Especially because the story "hurts" Dillon, no matter how the tri-mates works in the end. That story alone only deserves 2 stars.
The only reason I can still give it an extra 0.5 stars is actually the "side" story of Anthony (from the 1st book) who makes an appearance as well. It's so cute seeing him dealing with his possessive Alpha mate, especially when he reveals his secret of heritage, that his father is actually more than just fae :p. It gives a more rounded characterization for him, in addition to book 1. And I guess, even if I don't enjoy him much in book 1 (new version), his story in this elevates my liking towards him.
When the man Ben hopes will choose him at the mating ceremony doesn't show up he takes it as a sign that Dillon doesn't want him. He leaves Alaska in the hopes of finding a new home and a new pack. When he meets Thomas he knows he's found his mate. But what happens when Dillon hunts him down and tells him that they are mates?
I purchased this book assuming that the story of Dillon & Ben would be told first as the beginning and then the story of Ben leaving and finding a new home and a new mate. But in actuality it doesn't happen that way and I was disappointed. I guess I was hoping it would open with angst and get to the happy times after. Instead the story behind why Dillon wasn't there to claim Ben was shared with us (as the reader) in an offhanded way and it was very anticlimactic. I was hoping for a reason more meaningful than was given. Or at least written in such a way it sounded more meaningful.
The book was well-written despite that. I liked all 3 MC's. It was written in all 3 MC's POV.

This version is tighter and better than the older version. Yes, it's the same story, but with the new cover, publisher and little changes by Ms. Kell it is very much a 4.5 star!
I liked this one better than the first. It was still a quick short read, but didn’t feel as disjointed as the first. Ben is a lovely character and I liked that he was the one cementing the three together. It was an interesting take on a triad. I enjoyed the difference in that the two alphas weren’t immediately taken with each other. They chose to see if they could make it work as they both wanted Ben
This was a short but very enjoyable read. Ben is new to the pack since he finds his mate, Thomas, there, but soon he realizes that he has another mate. I appreciated how they handled the tri mating situation and I also just loved Anthony. He was a definite powerhouse. Truly delightful story. :D
Again, this is a good story that skips opportunities for important exposition and character development. I'm still sticking with this series. There are lots of interesting characters who need more opportunities to have their moment.

Re-read and review: 07/09/2020 I wish the books in this series has been longer because the ideas are great but not developed. In this there are too much plot for just a few pages. It would be very nice this series being revised, expanded and published again because has some good ideas here.
Baiting Ben is another short story in the Moon Pack series with potential. Amber Kell is playing with the stereotype of the paranormal genre, in particular the shapeshifter subgenre, re-adapting all of them in a gay point of view. This time is the turn of the menages between two strong alpha males who compete for the attention of a cute pretty thing. And since this is a gay romance, the cute pretty thing is an half human half werewolf redhead twink. Ben was part of an Alaskan pack, and he always thought that his mate would have been Dillon; but when his 25 birthday comes and goes without Dillon claiming him, Ben decides to leave the pack and find his mate in the big bad world. The quest is not so long, and the first time he enters the Moon pack nightclub, Thomas smells him and claims him as his mate.
Thomas is big and bad, but he is not an Alpha male; he has not the attitude of one, and it's quite clear that the one in command in their relationship will be Ben, the classic top from the bottom. The first days are perfect but then Dillon arrives pretending that Ben is his true mate... apparently Ben is part of a tri-mate bond, and Dillon and Thomas have to learn to deal with it: Ben can't choose between them, he is the pivot, and even if Thomas and Dillon don't feel attraction one for the other, they can't deny that both of them are handsome men, and it would be not an hard task to share Ben. And when Ben decides to play director for his personal porn movie, Thomas and Dillon play the role of the main characters for their little man.
This shapeshifter series by Amber Kell is not bad. Sometime play according the rule, the romance rule, allows you to write something nice and enjoyable, even if maybe not so original (but sometime when you try to be a forced original, you risk to be ridiculous or annoying); there is only one little thing that I found distracting, something I have found also in the previous book in the same series, there are here and there little typos, something a mistake in the name of the characters... nothing important, and probably with a second editing all of them would have been detected.
To be honest, it's done rather tastefully, actually, and I've developed a better tolerance for this type of stories. So I shouldn't have anything to worry about but, well, the story wasn't long enough for the triad's development to be exposed so I still felt somewhat iffy in the end.
I'm also firmly Team Thomas, the first wolf shifter that main character Ben mated with, so when Dillon - Thomas' contender and Ben's other mate - I couldn't help but frown a bit. After a while, I wanted Thomas and Dillon to be together in more solid and apparent way because that would've probably evened things out in a more balanced way but alas Ms. Kell didn't give me this. So, really, I'm sorry, but this second installment is never going to be my favorite.
I do enjoy Anthony and Silver's recurring appearance, though. It's what I read the series for!
Although the head jumping is separated as separate sections, pop switches way too many times per scene.
Cool that they're having fun having sex not just intense passion.
Well that's different. Usually all three are mates. This is more interesting. There's jealousy which is believable.
It's always weird when someone refers to a bed as the largest they've ever seen. I mean a California King is still a popular size and only longer, right? A lot of couples have king sized beds.
Well that was an odd ending. It's refreshing to see alphas/mates so mild mannered and relatively easy going. But the book was just too short. Nothing was fully fleshed out enough. Anthony is such an interesting character, he needs a full novel just for him. As it was, he stole the story.
This is the second book in the Moon Pack series. I liked it but it was extremely short. I felt like I was reading a synopsis of the book rather than the book itself. I enjoyed the characters, especially Ben (and Anthony from the first book).
Ben runs from his home pack because he thinks Dillon doesn't want him. He ends up finding Thomas and they claim each other as mates. Well, Dillon shows up and tries to claim him too. I think the story had a lot going for it but so much was missing. I may read the rest of the series... if I am lacking other reading material or just want an easy quick read.
One of the things I like best about this series is the different types of paranormals and how they just mingle so well together. In this installment, we have Ben who, after not being claimed by the man he thought wanted him, leaves his home and pack in search of his mate elsewhere. Meeting Thomas is everything he wanted but he can't help but think about the one he left behind and when that man shows up looking for Ben...let's just say things get a little violent. Things do eventually work out and that was a nice bit of smut but I wish there had been more between the three mates. I enjoyed it and also liked seeing Anthony and Silver from the first book; I look forward to the next book.
Well, for a triad in a supremely short amount of words this wasn’t too bad. Obviously a lot of development has to fall by the wayside because of that, but the result is better than some of the (really bad) wordier stories of threesomes that I’ve encountered.
Also makes me wonder whether my reading habits have deteriorated that much over the years, seeing how I don’t feel the need to complain much about this book this time around.
But yeah. In the end all three came across as people, not merely bodies, and things happened. Fast and efficient.
Very enjoyable. It follows Attracting Anthony and I look forward to reading the rest of the series. A great way to spend my leisure time.
Hot characters and a unique take on the shape-shift story line. Very entertaining.
You do need to read the series in order, they build on each other with the MC's having their own story (and HEA) but a story throughout the Pack that continues to grow as the backstory through each book.
A-Q are out now, there will definitely be more and I look forward to re-reading these again.
Ps.
Well, I didn't hate it. There's no character development, no real bonding, the sex is pretty bland, and I'm feeling no love for any of them. So much potential, so much blah. I liked Anthony and if there were no Anthony in here I'd probably give up the series. With him to tie in the first book, which was an ok read, and save the day here, I was fine with not finishing this astonishingly short read. So little real development and depth that I'm finding it quite difficult to drum up any enthusiasm for continuing the series.
