A New Adult Contemporary Romance set in the heart of country music. . .Nashville.
Thomas Franklin and Lila Bellamy have history. And now it seems, they may have a future as well. Or at least, a shot at one. Their second beginning though is anything but smooth. In the middle of the night, they flee Lila’s hometown for Nashville, after stealing a dog in order to save his life. And if that’s not a rocky enough start, they’ve got to figure out how to be the parents their daughter Lexie needs them to be. Can Thomas continue to be part of Barefoot Outlook? Will Lila be able to reach for her own dreams of a career in music? Can their love for each other survive the pressures that come with fame and success in Nashville? Or will it fade altogether beneath the glare of the spotlight?
Virginia author Inglath Cooper fell in love with reading as a little girl, devouring most of the books in her elementary school library. At some point, she decided she wanted to pursue a writing career, creating romance fiction that did for others what her favorite books have done for her. “I love character-driven books that leave me feeling as if I’ve really known these people and make me wish I didn’t have to turn the last page.”
“Romance fiction has always appealed to me because it deals with so many of the relationships in a woman’s life. Not only the love of her life, but often her relationship with her mother, sister or best friend. Romance authors have so much room to explore many of the meaningful moments and transitions in women’s lives. And who doesn’t love a good love story?”
Inglath most often writes stories about love and life that are set in small Virginia towns like the one where she grew up. “I like to think the flavor of my hometown shows up in my books both in their setting and through the characters who people it.”
When aspiring writers ask her how to be an author, she says, “Everything I know about writing books I learned from reading books.”
Inglath has been chosen as a RITA® Award winner for best long contemporary romance novel given out each year by Romance Writers of America. Her books are available through Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, itunes.com, and Kobobooks.com.
Outside of writing, Inglath is actively involved in dog rescue, working with The Franklin County Humane Society to place dogs and cats in need of rehoming. She volunteers her time in every capacity possible: serving on the Board of Directors, fundraising, photographing dogs and cats available for adoption and serving as a foster home. “Helping an abused or neglected dog go on to have a wonderful life with a family who loves them is more rewarding than I can possibly say.”
Sweet Tea and Me: Nashville Book Five is by Ingath Cooper. Lila and Thomas and Lexie rent a cabin at the lake to get to know each other again. Lexie takes to Thomas as if she had always known him. Macy comes to visit and Lila and Thomas go back to her trailer to get some medicine for Lexie. While there, they see Rowdy taking Brownie for a ride, something he has never done in the past. Thinking he might be getting rid of the dog, they follow. Instead, he is fighting him. They can’t stand the hurt he puts on Brownie and kidnap him to take him to a vet. Rowdy shoots Brownie and thinks he has killed him. Thomas and Lila take the dog to an emergency vet who helps Brownie and then helps them take him away when the sheriff shows up to ask questions. This makes the decision for Lila to go to Nashville with Thomas and they set out that very night. Lila and Lexie have come to Nashville to stay with Thomas so that he can get to know his daughter. He has forgiven Lila for not telling him about her and understands why she didn’t. Now, however, he wants to become a family like that Holden and CeCe have. Lila, however, knows she wants to prove she can be independent from Thomas even though she doesn’t want to be. She must find a job to keep her busy. Since Thomas had heard her sing, he wants her to do something with her singing. He asks CeCe to introduce her to producers who are producing demos, which was the way CeCe started out on her own. CeCe trusts Thomas that Lila had a true and excellent voice as she had not heard her sing. CeCe introduces Lila to her favorite producer, Joe Michaels who puts Lila in a sound booth and asks her to sing. She sings a song she wrote, “Amazed”, Joe was amazed with her voice and hires her immediately to sing for Taylor Pendleton, a new writer who needed someone to sing his song, “Sweet Tea and Me”. The song fits Lila’s voice and Taylor has her sing two more of his songs. He then asks her to do a video of the song for him. Lila agrees but Thomas isn’t as sure. He sees Taylor as a threat for coming between him and Lila. Can he stop Taylor from doing that? Can he convince Lila to give them a chance to be a family instead? What will it take to convince her?
You’ve gotta love a love story that includes a feisty gal, an honest guy who’s fallen in love with her, their mutual love of music, their differently-abled lovechild, and a pit bull they rescued from an abusive redneck alcoholic neighbor with a prison record. The book is short and sweet and hopeful, despite the drama towards the end where the redneck discovers where they escaped to and tortures the gal and the pit bull, then kidnaps the lovechild and the dog, but doesn’t get very far before he’s caught red-handed. When he tries hitting the child, the pit bull goes for his throat in defense of the girl, and mom stops police from shooting the dog. With any luck, he’s going back to prison for breaking his parole; the dog goes home with mom, dad, and child and they live happily ever after while the drunk is off the streets again. WIN-WIN-WIN!!

Inflate Cooper draws you into her stories like a magician. I have been drawn into this series of books from the first paragraph of book one. This is the first break I have taken to review one of them, probably because it is a continuing story. Based around a career in Nashville this series is plenty of highs, lows and in between. Heartbreaking loss that the characters are struggling with and trying to rise above while chasing their dreams of a career in the Nashville music industry. Well written.
I started reading this series with a bad attitude. The more I r ad the more I became invested in the story as it enfolded. The Nashville life, CeCe, Holden, Thomas Lila all became real. Like friends. I love the banter between them as friends, always there for each other. I live the ups and downs, their mistakes and the happy endings.
Crazy about this series. Words never get old or stale. Love
me a happy ending even tho there is suspense on between. A child conceived from a fabulous one night stand, a cowboy and love of music come together beautifully.
This is the sixth book in this Nashville series I've read. This a highly entertaining story. If you're looking for something that's just a great read, then you've found it in this......
Thomas and Lila are living in the same house but are they ever going to be together? Brownie is healed and enjoying life as a happy dog until a blast from the past comes along.
It’s so good having a continuing book at your disposal soon as you finish the previous one,it’s so interesting and captivating that I read one after the next,I just love it and am enjoying the series,I recommend to readers for sure, happy reading.
homas and Lila’s story continues in part six where part 5 left off. They had followed Lila’s neighbor to an underground dog fighting ring and he ended up shooting Brownie aka killer after he had lost the fight. The story takes up with them taking to dog to the vet and then immediately leaving town so that her neighbor doesn’t find out. Now Lila and Lexie are living the big life in Nashville. Lexie at a school that she loves and Lila doing Demo’s for up and coming song writers. Living in Thomas’ house poses a slight problem as they continue to fight there attraction for each other while trying to do what’s best for Lexie.
I was going to give this book 4 stars not because I didn’t like it but because I feel that the series is just being drug out so long that it’s getting on my nerves. Each of these books are right around 100 pages or less and I feel that if she just wrote a bit longer and finished the story rather than dragging it out I would enjoy it more. By the time the next book comes out it’s been months and it takes a chapter or two to remember what was happening. Anyway, I ended up giving it 4.5 stars because there is a very climatic part towards the end that really had me on the edge of my seat and trying to read faster so that I could find out what happens.
I’m happy that part 7 is already out and since I’ve already purchased it, I can dive right in.
This story continues where the last one left off. Thomas and Lila save Brownie and they take Lexie and leave for Nashville. They have strong feelings for one another but don't act on them. Finally they do, they can't deny their love. After what could have been a serious tragedy, Thomas realizes he can't live without Lila and proposes. He finally gets his happy ending. I like both characters, I just didn't feel their chemistry, like I did with Holden and CeCe. But I was happy that Thomas finally got his HEA.
I love this book series, the book is not nearly long enough I just want more. Thomas and Lila's story continues from where book 5 left off. I love how they rescue Brownie and run away to Nashville. I love how this playboy, Thomas is so good with Lexie and she is so sweet. Can't wait for next chapter in their story.
Ok I don't know what to say the book was another good one. The last few chapters had me tense and on my toes. I was really worried. All I can say is if your not sure about reading this series then your crazy because you should. Enough said I need to go purchase part 7 like yesterday lol
Inglath Cooper has the gift of making you fall in love with her characters. I loved Cece and Holden in the first part of the series and am so glad Thomas has found someone too. I love Thomas and Lila together and so want them to make it work for their daughter Lexis' sake. I especially love the way the author works a dog into her books as I am a dog lover also. Kudos to Ms Cooper!
