"I’m pregnant."

Molly Gilmore had a good life before she uttered those two stupid words. While preparing to graduate from culinary school and building up the courage to make a move on her hot, sugar-cookie-smelling pastry instructor Marco, she can't wait to finally have the GREAT life she’s always dreamed about, instead of just the good one she’s been living.

Always known as the quiet ninja, she fully intends to stay hidden in the shadows with her nut-job family, so they have no chance to embarrass her around the man she's crushed on for two years. Unfortunately, her family has other plans. When they yank her straight out of her comfort zone, she finds herself starring in the craziest train wreck she's ever witnessed.

Molly ultimately gets a more exciting life that doesn't revolve around school, but she's pretty sure the man of her dreams won't be sticking around long after her family gets ahold of him. There aren't too many guys who can handle smelling like pee, having the whole world know how he masturbates, and being forced to eat an entire bag of dicks.

Join the Chocolate Lovers and Chocoholics gang for one final story about love, baked goods, making poor life choices, and remembering how important family is—even if they drive you insane.

Mostly because it's illegal to kill them.

Baking and Babies is the final book in the Chocoholics/Chocolate Lovers Series. It’s bittersweet for me. These are characters I’ve been reading about for a long time. I love the family, the friendship, and the hilarity of their crazy antics. The original Chocolate series is one of my favorite funny series. I recommend those books to anyone looking for a laugh. And the spin offs about the main characters children have been fantastic as well. Baking and Babies is Molly Gilmore’s (Liz and Jim’s youngest daughter) story.

Molly (aka the quiet ninja) is graduating culinary school. She’s been in an accelerated program for the last 2 years and has quite the crush on her student teacher. Just as things are starting to possibly come together between her and Marco, her crazy family intervenes. Her sister needs her help, so of course Molly is there for her. And along with that, Marco gets included in all the shenanigans.

description
I know it’s crazy, but it feels right. I can’t explain how after only spending a few hours with her I feel like I’ve know her forever instead of just fantasizing about her for two years from a distance.

Molly and Marco were great together. Their chemistry was there and I loved them both. Their relationship had not even started yet when Marco got thrown into the mix of Molly’s family. Marco’s reaction to Molly’s family was spot on. I love the family element of these stories. Even though these characters have a funny way of showing it, you can totally feel the love between them. They are anything but normal, but as Molly states- Normal is overrated.
“Does your family ever do anything normal?”

“Normal is overrated.”

I remember reading the first book in this series years ago and laughing out loud in public. Loudly. There are still so many lines from those books that I spout off randomly. That, my friends, is a memorable series. I love Tara’s writing and I love that she can write so many different things. Even though her funny books are my favorite, some of her more series stories and romances have been amazing as well. If you’re looking for a book/series with a lot of laughs and a lot of heart, this is one you must pick up!

Nope, nope, nope, GOD no!

Gah, I just couldn't do it. I tried (not too hard, but I did!).
This book started at a 3 star rating, went to a 2.5 pretty fast, and I stopped before it went lower than 2 stars.

I just couldn't! Gah, the characters were idiots!! And after the main male character said It's so not funny that I think a little pee might have come out of me I had to give up after a few more pages (when he says the same thing with different words).

I get that it's all suppose to be funny-haha, but it was more like a funny-fuck-off. I understand why people liked, even loved it. But gah! I rarely laugh these kinds of jokes and the onea from this book just that bad.

Sorry, but this one was just awful for me.

Baking and Babies (Chocoholics #3) by Tara Sivec
4.5 stars!!

“Even if you plan it all out and follow everything to a T, life will fuck you right up the ass. Without lube.”

Tara went back to her roots with Baking and Babies and while I have absolutely loved her “serious” writing, while reading this book I had forgotten just how much I missed her comedic voice. This book had me in stitches, I had tears of laughter and I have not had that for a very, very, very long time.

Who knew a fake foetus, a hidden pregnancy, a pornographic cock cook book and sticky socks could be so darn funny but have Tara Sivec as the master manipulator and anything and I mean ANYTHING is possible. I would love to live in the Sivec household, I bet there is never a dull moment.

“Did I say experts? I meant mental patients.”

Molly a.k.a. The Ninja is Liz & Jim’s daughter, she is currently at the end of a two year course in culinary school and is hopelessly in lust with her teacher. He has made the past two years so much more bearable and with only stiff peaks between them, Marco more than makes his presence felt…but is this lust reciprocated?

“I almost smothered the three of you when you were toddlers and couldn’t get along. Then, I tried to sell you on eBay when all three of you had your periods at the same time and almost killed each other.”

Marco’s family are just as mental as the rest of this crazy gang so he is in great company. Coming from Italian’s and surrounded by women, Marco has had an oestrogen filled life. With a mum, sisters and a niece his life has never been dull and he is well versed in all things female. But he has another side, a side that he wants to keep hidden and this and his alter ego had me in stitches.

Molly’s sister Charlotte is a few weeks away from her wedding and is verging on being a bridezilla, one-day Molly hears screams coming from Charlotte and begrudgingly goes to find out what all the fuss is about and it is then that Molly is dragged into this hilarious mess. Molly has never felt one of the gang, she was always the quiet one, lurking in the shadows and firmly on the platform waiting for the crazy train to go past that contained her family and their friends. She was grounded, knew what she wanted and worked and studied hard. She could help Charlotte out, just this once…after all it came at a price.

“There’s nothing quite like the love between two sisters.”

As Molly graduates, Marco makes his move and he too gets drawn into Molly and Charlotte’s mess…let the shenanigans begin. I have to say that Molly and Marco are so well suited, they were adorable together and for Marco to put himself out there like that proved just how into Molly he actually was. He had been in lust with her for years too, but being the good teacher he was he never crossed those professional boundaries. Now with graduation out the way it was his turn to shine and he shone like a star.

“Jesus Christ. They hit people with cancer? I’m a dead man.”

I could never grow tired reading about this group of friends and now their kids. That is why this is one of those bittersweet reads when you realise that they will not be a part of your life anymore. We have seen them all “grow up” and I use that in the loosest of terms because really, all of them are still big kids at heart and with parents such as these…life would never be dull, it also isn’t too safe either, but where is the fun in normal?

“I’ll have you know I got carded buying win the other day. The cashier told me he thought for sure I was only twenty.”
Claire snorts. “Yeah, maybe in dog years.”

The things that they get up to in this book never disappoint, it makes me wonder about the type of company that Tara Sivec keeps to garner this much “material.” I mean it has to have been experienced at some point…right? With side splitting humour Tara Sivec really delivers on the grand finale and for anyone that needs a really good belly laugh you cannot go wrong with this series. After a plethora of suspense and emotional type reads this was just what the doctor ordered.

“This is really the end. Hug it out Bitches.”

Several years ago, I picked up Seduction & Snacks, and laughed so hard, I literally woke up my whole family. Some 600 books later, that book and this series, is still one of the funniest things I've ever read. So it's a bit bittersweet saying goodbye to this group, but I think Tara gave them the proper send off.

Like all of the books before, there are a lot of laughs and yes, some awkward situations that are so out there, they can only come from Tara's whacky brain. But I'm not going to be like a bad Hollywood trailer and give away all of the funny scenes.

I can tell you that this story features Molly (Liz's daughter, and sister to Charlotte and Ava) and Marco "POLO" (this joke is courtesy of Drew and may make sense once you read the book, or not. It's Drew after all).

Marco and Molly follow a popular romance plot line, he's her culinary instructor, she's he's student, and they have been attracted to each other for 2 years. It's not until after graduation that they do anything about this attraction, and it is in the unlikeliest of ways thanks to Charlotte and her selfish plans. Yes, Charlotte annoyed me and I thought she did some foolish things. Thankfully, she has a sister like Molly. . . who really didn't care for her sister much before. Somehow these crazy plans bring them together. Which leads me to . . .

I can tell you there is a baby. It's in the fucking title so don't come after me with your spoiler complaints.

I can tell you that Marco's family is just as crazy as Molly's. Both families put these two through the ringer. And yet they stay together.

I can tell you that it's never good to keep a secret. As I posted on FB, the not telling part becomes worse than the lie. I'm looking at you Alfanseo!

I can tell you it's all Tom Brady's fault. Always.

Like the previous books, this crazy gang is in full force. You'll get:

Cat fights
Men trying to be manly
Oversharing
Awkward moments
A lot of vomiting
And masturbation.

You'll shake your head at the outlandish moments which are so far fetched, you'll want to slap the characters (I'm looking at you Drew and Jenny) for their stupidity. But you'll laugh your ass off just the same. It's crazy and immature, just want I needed!

I can't wait to read about this ninja! lol :D

***EDIT***
4.25 stars. NOOOOO!!!! I didn't realize this was the end!?!? What the hell am I gonna do without my seduction and snacks gang?? I really was hoping for Sophia, Billy, and Veronica's story. Oh well, I loved Molly and Marco. They are too cute and hilarious for words. I feel that the book should be longer though. It was sort of rushed at the end. But otherwise, I loved this series!

Baking and Babies
Baking & Babies (Chocoholics #3) by Tara Sivec
Romantic Comedy. Standalone storyline, but you should read the others to fully know the characters.
Disclaimer: NO BABIES WERE BAKED in this book. The author may have been baked, the characters may have gotten baked (Grandma!), but there were no babies near ovens.

OK, moving on. It's no secret that Tara Sivec is my reason for living. Really. Look in acknowledgements and you'll see, I'm hers too, I know it. Seriously, The Chocolate Lovers and Chocoholics are my favorite books ever. I love all of Tara's books, but those series are the first books that made SCARY STUFF happen to me! Lets just say...my vagina was involved. You can check out some of the events here and here. Tara is also the reason for Wicked Book Weekend, I had to meet the totally sick brain behind these books. (Wow, 2016 will be Tara's 5th and I won't do it without her).

If you are unaware, The Chocoholics series is about the kids of the characters in The Chocolate Lovers Series. But honestly, to me, it's still mostly about the original crew, just all grown up. And they are still a bunch of crazy stupid assholes. I fucking LOVE them.
QUOTE MARKThat HURT, you dick nose slut-box! I HAD CANCER!" Aunt Claire responds.
"Oh fuck right off! You HAD cancer, you don't have it anymore and you should be able to take a punch, you pussy!" my mother shouts back.

Molly is Liz and Jim's daughter, and sister to Charlotte. She was the quiet Ninja. She didn't hop on the crazy train that was the rest of the Seduction and Snacks crew. She was the kind of bitchy sister who messed with everyone else quietly. She was focused on school and her career as a pastry chef. Well that, and her teacher, Marco. Luckily she was about to graduate, so Marco wasn't off limits any more.

Marco had a secret. He was crazy about Molly, but worried that his secret would drive her away. Thanks to Charlotte (I wasn't happy with her so much in this book) Molly got roped into a crazy scenario, and had a secret she was keeping from Marco as well.
QUOTE MARKNow she's going to smell like cinnamon, apples and somebody else's sperm. I don't know who this loser is, but I'm sure his spunk tastes like toxic waste. I shouldn't have waited so long to make my move."

After very little getting-to-know-you time, Marco got himself into a cover-up situation with Molly that there was no coming back from. He was dumped head first into the crazy that was the Seduction & Snacks crew. It's a shame, because Molly really liked him, but once he saw the crazy mess of her family, she knew he's be running for the hills.
QUOTE MARKDoes your family ever do anything normal?"...
"Dammit, Tom Brady! Not in the mashed potatoes!" Uncle Drew shouts from the kitchen...
"Normal is overrated. They're bat shit crazy every day of their lives..."

I freaking LOVED Marco. He was totally sexy, down to earth, had an equally crazy family, and fit right in with this nutty group. (Yeah, I said nutty).
QUOTE MARKIt's hard to be irritated when my penis is happy after hearing Molly call me her boyfriend. It's too conflicting and it's always best to go with whatever emotion my penis wants, and my penis wants me to be happy, dammit."

Marco was so crazy about Molly that he went through some major hazing from the guys to stay in there. Smelling like pee and eating a bag of dicks may have been involved.

Charlotte and Molly's relationship as sisters was like a poster of loving siblings.
QUOTE MARKYou hairy-hairy-ball-sack-whore-of-a-whale's-dick"
"Oh, pipe down you smelly-ass-giant-vagina-scrotum-licker!"

It was all Tom Brady's fault. Or Betty White.

Likes:

•Tara was worried she lost her funny. She didn't lose a damn thing! I wore a pad, and I'm glad I did. I read this after brain surgery. I wasn't supposed to laugh. Yeah right. If I'm brain damaged, I blame Tara.
•Cletus the fetus. I called both my kids that the entire pregnancy. That's a little creepy she knew that. Stalker.
•Meat Sweats. Once again, we were talking about this within days of reading this book. See? Stalker.
•Marco was perfect and fit in amazingly well. He reminded me of Carter.
•Marco's sister. Loved her.
•Visits with all the Chocolate World peeps, except maybe a few (you'll see).
•Tom fucking Brady.
•Drew and Jenny didn't get any smarter over the years.
•These are real people, not billionaires, rock stars, fighters or stepbrothers. (OK, well maybe not Jenny).
•MEGAN LEVINE, Dr. Christenson, and Stephanie Johnson.
•The epilogue was perfect.
•The acknowledgements :)

Dislikes:

•WAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! It's the end of the series for sure. Tara will write more romantic comedy, but not set in this world.

The Down and Dirty:
I couldn't have asked for a better end to my favorite series. Tara knocked this one out of the park with her mixture of crazy, hysterical, funny and sweet without going overboard on any of it. Molly and Marco were adorably awkward together, yet just as crazy as the rest of them in their own ways. As much as I love all of the books in these series, Baking and Babies is for sure my favorite of the three in the Chocoholics series (I can't include Tattoos & Tatas in that, because that's a hands-down favorite). If you have read this series, do yourself a favor, stick in a maxi pad, grab a glass of wine or a "special" cookie, and lock yourself away with a box of tissues to wipe away tears of laughter, and sadness that it's over. If you haven't read this series, what the fuck are you waiting for?

Here...so now you have NO EXCUSE.

This book was hysterical but I really missed the connection of the two main characters I'm used to getting with this author.

And the steam was all talk and no/very little action.

Fuck me gently with a chainsaw. Holy shit... Being a Chocolate Lover's & Chocoholic virgin, I have literally devoured all 6 books and 2 novellas in less than three days folks. How I survived before this without having read these masterpieces I will never know, but know that it's been rectified and I feel withdrawals about to commence any minute now. There are just so many fantastic things I could say about this series and this book, it blows my mind. But even once you look beyond the humor that riddles this book what I loved was the love all the characters shared. There was a history between them that can only come from people you really and truly connect with, and that kind of chemistry cannot be faked. Even when they fought with each other and kicked each other in naughty places, it was still done with love and the knowledge that they would hug it out the next second. These books will suck you in and hold you hostage until you finish the last word and even then you will be left wanting more because how can this possibly be the end?! I mean, I get logically it is, but when the writing and story line is this phenomenal, my greedy book loving self will always want more!

I loved Molly's no-nonsense attitude and how Marco just took everything in stride and fit right in from the beginning. It was if he was a character that had always been there and there was never any awkwardness. I'll admit, Charlotte was NOT my favorite person throughout most of the book. I fell back in love with her by the end, but I wanted to punch her greedy twat more than once throughout the pages. Molly was a much better person than I would have been ;-) But even through all the drama, the love always won out and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see what would happen next. Sivec picked a fantastic couple to end the series on and it will be one I won't soon forget!

If you haven't read these books, get on that shit. Seriously folks... You can thank me later. Just know this was the perfect ending to one of my favorite groups of people. Give me a few months and I am sure I'll revisit them again and again and again. Fuck your face and eat a bag of dicks. Griffin out! {drops mic} P.S. Don't forget it's always Tom Brady's fault...

This book finishes off the crazy group of Seduction & Snacks. It is just as much fun as all the rest of the series.
Our heroine is the quiet one of the group. She has worked hard at culinary school and has finally graduated. Our hero is her teacher and has been waiting for her to graduate so he can ask her out. But, first he has to pose as the fake daddy for her fake pregnancy.
Hilarious with excellent characters!

‘I’m putting Marco’s penis in my mouth tonight and nothing is going to stop me.’

Well Fuck A Duck that was HILARIOUS, but honestly did I expect anything else from my favorite versatile author. Tara Sivec has proven over and over again she can go from crass humor to heartbreaking angst to suspense to erotic with the blink of an eye. I am not sure there is not a genre she couldn’t write (come on who wouldn’t love a children’s book written by her.)

‘Honesty is my middle name. Right after Lying Dickhead Asshole.’

I adore the Chocoholics series, possible even more than the Chocolate Lovers, not only because the stories are incredibly funny but because I feel like we have watched these kids grow up and fall in love. Who doesn’t want a happily ever after for kids you fell in love with. Out of all the children, Molly is the one we know the least about, often hiding behind the crazy schemes and antics of those around her she kept to herself and focused on finishing her culinary degree and making something of herself. Finally Molly gets the spotlight and I find that I absolutely adored her. Having had a crush on her teacher but knowing she can’t do anything about it while still in his class has been impossible for her. But school is done and now nothing is impossible except Molly has a secret, one that changes everything.

“Don’t knock it until you try it; pony play is very erotic,” Ava informs the group as I sit on the comfortable leather bench next to Charlotte, closing the door behind me. “The plastic hooves are a little hard to get used to at first, but once you add the tail and the unicorn horn, you really get into it.”

Marco, the Italian Stallion, rocked my world. Thrown into the crazy mix of all these overly eccentric people he proves he can give as much as he can take. But Marco isn’t forthcoming with all his secrets and what he holds back has the power to tear apart all that they built in the short amount of time they spent together. I am not sure where the quips and one liners that end up in these books come from but I am fairly convinced something is very very wrong with Tara, and we are all so happy about it.

‘Ain’t nobody got time for full-price lap dances!’

As sad as I am to see this series come to an end I feel like it is just the right place for it. Every moment along the way exciting and fun and I loved how this story helped wrap up all the previous books as well. Catching up with my favorite characters only added to the pure joy I got from reading this story. I cannot wait to see what books, stories and characters Tara has for us next.

It's hard to get my brain wrapped around just how much I loved Baking and Babies. Tara Sivec ended up the Chocolate Lovers/Chocoholics series with a bang and tears were shed by me and I'm owning it. This series is always my first go-to when someone wants a romantic comedy or when I need a quick pick me up. I feel connected to all of the characters and absolutely adored every word.

All we really knew about Molly Gilmore is that she's basically a ninja; stealth, quiet and sneaks up on her family spewing information that you don't know she had. Molly has grown up thinking she's the outsider of her family but when she grows into her own, she realizes that she's just as insane as the rest of them.

Marco DeSoto has always had a thing for his star pastry student. Now that she's graduated, he's ready to take his chances with her and goes along for the ride of his life with an insane scheme brought onto him and Molly by her sister Charlotte. Marco does go into his own hazing thanks to Jim, Carter and Drew and it's amazing.

After the ups and downs of their new relationship, Marco and Molly find themselves in a great place. Their families are both crazy, yet perfect in their own right, they're in love and ready to start a life together. Baking and Babies is the perfect happily ever after to the series. Although I'll always wish for more just because I'm greedy, it was a perfect ending to all the crazy that we've been given over and over in these series.

Disappointment written all over it.

I love the Chocolate Lovers series, and I love these crazy characters to pieces. It's only the Chocoholics spin-off that left me with a bitter meh taste, and this last book made everything even worse.

Immature, implausible and way-over-the-top jokes, forced storylines and just silly characters, at the end it felt as if I were grasping for straws. The wedding just killed it for me.

Tara Sivec I love your writing and sarcasm and I'll keep reading your books, but, unfortunately, this just wasn't it for me.

I can't remember the last time I was so sad a series finally ended. It started with the absolutely CRAZY ASS characters in Seduction and Snacks and then into the spin off series, Chocholics. This series has made me laugh so hard and frankly be grateful that my own family as dysfunctional as it is is nowhere near Clair and Liz's. Best friends till the end and now actual family, the crazy antics that I have loved to read about in the 2 series has finally ended and all I can say is ... what a ride!

I don't know why it took me so long to finish this series but I'm glad I finally did.

Molly is the youngest daughter of Jim & Liz and has pretty much been able to fly under the radar so far in life. She doesn't get involved in naughty side of the family business, preferring the snack side of things as she is about to graduate as a pastry chef.

Molly has had a massive crush on her tutor, Marco, and is hoping that now she is no longer his student she might be able to 'make a move' on him. See if he interested in going out on date perhaps?
Marco has been harbouring feelings for Molly for the last two years and he plans to ask her out as soon as possible.

Sounds perfect right? Well it was until when they finally do get together she announces that she is pregnant. Being the amazing guy he is, Marco steps up to plate and offers to be the father to this unborn child put inside Molly by another man.

This is just the beginning of this crazy story featuring all the people who make it so wonderful.

This is Molly Gilmore's love story but it was so much more than that. The entire cast of this and the previous series are back and everything gets beautifully tied up in a wonderful epilogue.

I was shocked, surprised, and fell totally in love with Chocolate Lovers series and that continued with this Chocoholics Series. They never cease to take me places I never thought anyone would go, surprise me, make me laugh, and look at the world just a little bit differently. This is one of those books where you catch wind of the plot and actions of the main characters and it makes you cringe and think this idea is just so bad that there is little to no chance of a good outcome. It makes you want to yell at your kindle...Don't do it!

But she does. They do. And oh the consequences!

Molly Gilmore has always been known as the Quiet Ninja. She is the unassuming one, who keeps her head down and tries not to draw attention from her crazy family. She never really got along with her sisters Charlotte and Ava. She has been working tirelessly to graduate from culinary school and has been lusting after her hot teacher. And since she is graduating, she is hoping maybe her crush isn't one sided and she and Marco could have a chance.

But when her sister needs her help, Molly finds herself in the middle of a big family drama with secrets, lies, cover ups, and crazy shenanigans...lots of crazy, over-the-top shenanigans. And Marco finds himself right beside her in the battle. And somehow the men in Molly's family even have him partaking in the crazy kool aid. While the women in her family make them all want to run far away. And his family just adds a bit more cray-cray to the mix.

I loved Marco. He was sweet, cute, and funny, but about as awkward as Molly was. He had his manwhore phase, but is now happy to try to be with Molly despite all of the baggage she comes with. But Marco has his own big secret that could screw things up too.

I loved them together. They were compatible, shared common interests, and were just adorably awkward and overwhelmed together. But his secrecy and all of the family dynamics might just be too much for this new couple to withstand.

The situation just continues to get more and more out of control until eventually there is nothing to do but take cover and watch it explode then see where the pieces land. There is lots of family bonding, suffocating love, strings of crazy curses, torture, humiliation, secrets, fights(verbal and physical), and all kind of crazy, over-the-top-hi-jinx.

Once I got immersed back into crazy town, I loved it. The things that come out of these characters' mouths never cease to amaze me, make my jaw drop, shock the crap out of me, and choke me with laughter. This is another wild ride with situations that are hard to explain and you pray never happen to anyone in real life.

Tara Sivec made it pretty darn clear that this is the last book and did her best to tie everything up...I had to laugh at how she did that. But fans of both of these series will be glad to spend more time with Liz, Jim, Claire, Carter, Drew, Jenny, Charlotte, Gavin, Ava, Tyler, and Grandpa George...yeah there are a few people missing but we aren't supposed to ask about them. lol.

When you read a Tara Sivec book, or more specifically a Chocoholics book there are certain things you expect and Baking & Babies does not disappoint. If you are wondering what those expectations are let me explain. Tara Sivec can write some of the most inappropriate, disturbing, pee yourself from laughing so hard, can’t breathe funny ass shit. My husband once again threatened to send me to her house to sleep because I woke him up yet again laughing and having problems breathing from not being able to catch my breath.
Let me say this first and foremost. Charlotte is an asshole! Yes I said it and to make matters worse my middle name is Charlotte so does that make me an asshole as well? Ugh the struggle is real.

Alright on to the actual review lol. Baking & Babies was hilarious, while at the same time sweet and disturbing. I mean come on the title alone makes you wonder if Ms. Sivec will be baking babies. LET ME STATE FOR THE RECORD NO BABIES WERE BAKED DURING THE WRITING OR READING OF THIS BOOK. If you can’t laugh at that last statement well then this book that may not be for you. This is the final book of the Chocoholics series, a moment of silence please because I pray that she will change her mind and write more damn it, and I loved it.

Molly has been the sister that is quiet, kind of the creepy one who enjoys tormenting her sisters by sneaking up on them. Now I am an only child but if I had sisters like Molly does well then I wouldn’t want sisters. Okay maybe not that extreme but what she does for one of them is more than I would ever do. Add on to that the “pregnancy” she is a little stressed to say the least. Marco. Oh poor Marco had no idea what he was in for when he ummm “knocked up” Molly. I may be a little bit crazy, but even I would run from the entire family of Molly’s. Poor guy, it really was Tom Brady’s fault. Read the book and you will understand. Molly, poor Molly, I drank for her while reading this book.

I have loved each and every one of the Chocolate Lover’s and Chocoholics books, so for this to be the last book is bittersweet, and I am not talking about bittersweet chocolate here people. I feel like I am a part of these crazy ass families. Tara Sivec is a master at making her readers laugh and even cry. She is one of my favorite authors and this is one of her best books yet.

First... let me say this...
SCREW YOU, TARA SIVEC AND I REFUSE TO HUG IT OUT!!! hashtag:ThisDamnBookMadeMeCry hashtag:ScrewYouTomBrady

Seriously. I adore the heck out of Tara's RomComs. I'm not even going to try to play coy and pretend they're just alright. I pee my pants. I get dirty looks from the family for laughing and snorting so much. I say ridiculous crap that no one in their right mind has a clue about what I'm saying all because... TARAMOTHERFUGGINSIVEC GOT IT IN MY HEAD!

It's sorcery. She is honestly one of my favorite authors on the planet for a number of reasons, but the #1 reason is - she can weave a damn tale together with precision accuracy and make me question my sanity. She can write across multiple genres and still make me love every word. She can make me laugh my butt off, and cry... in the same story.

Baking & Babies is a culmination of years of my favorite stories. The laughs are endless... until... the end, of course (does that make any sense?!?! Probably not. You'll understand when you get there... ) The Chocolate Lovers and Chocoholics series aren't exactly for the faint of heart. They're crude. They're obnoxious. They're absolutely genius in humor, with perfectly punctuated comical poundings coming and coming and coming... and then coming one more time just for good measure.

I adore them. I may have the sense of humor of a teenage boy, but I mean, I do live with all boys and I in fact have a teenage son, so maybe they've left me where I just can't function like a normal human being. But... with that... GOD, do these books make me laugh til I cry and they're some of the first I recommend to people.

I had worried that maybe by this point in this series these books wouldn't have the same oomph for me, but it definitely didn't fail to deliver - and this book came at the perfect time when I just needed a good, comical, laugh til I cry session in life. If you need a feel-good pick-me-up this is your book and if you haven't started from the first book that started it all, do yourself a favor and getcha some!

I'm in love with Marco - and that Italian Stallion is mine, btw. :)

Molly Gilmore knew helping her sister out by pretending to be pregnant, to cover Charlotte’s pregnancy would be a huge mistake. Especially when she ends up roping in the guy she has been crushing on for two years and the only progress she has made is sneakily taking a whiff of him. She knows Marcus is bound to right screaming once he encounters her certifiably insane family, especially when they think he has knocked her up and yet…he seems to fit right in, Molly can’t help thinking, should she be scared or relieved?

So, we come to the end of the Chocoholic series with Baking and Babies, I’ve been reading Sivec, especially this series and Chocolate Lovers since 2012 when Seduction and Snacks was first published. And, what I have noticed since then, is that my ratings on her books are slowly decreasing, I adored Seduction and Snacks and it got five very well deserved stars, it was fresh and funny with some outrageous characters ready for you to love. Now I am reviewing Baking and Babies and giving it two point five stars as, after three years I feel like this Sivec has squeezed all the goodness out of this formula and now all we are left with are a few dregs. These books have gone from funny and outrageous to ridiculous and trying-too-hard.

But Baking and Babies did make me laugh, no matter what Sivec always seem to be able to coax a giggle out of me with the antics of Molly, Marcus and crew. This book did feature all the characters you know and love from the previous books in this series and the Chocolate Lovers as we say a final goodbye to them. It seemed though the book was crowded with so many familiar faces that it obscured the romance. Molly and Marcus were nice together, but I don’t really feel like I saw enough of them.

This book was okay, it entertained me, but I felt more relief than sadness once I had finished it.

Fun fact about Tara Sivec. We all know she's hilarious and those that know her also know she's slightly insane. What you might not know is this woman is humble AF. I, once again, had the honor to beta read this book for Tara. And every step of the way, she would send a chapter or two and each email or message would come with a warning because Tara was convinced she had lost her funny mojo.

Well let me tell you- she has not. Tara has been writing much heavier and even darker stuff lately but that has not had any impact on her ability to write what is essentially slap stick comedy in romance form.

Baking and Babies completes the Chocolate Lovers and Chocoholics series. Don't ask her for more or I swear to you she will kill every single one of these suckers off. She might even write you into the story and then kill you off too. It's over. Let it go.

But as far as a series ending goes- this is one of the best. It's hilarious so don't worry about that. But it's also got some of that signature hidden sweet that Tara does so well. It kind of creeps up on you in the best way possible.

The whole gang is back for Molly's story where our favorite possible ninja finally finds her happily ever after. And there are a few more stars in this one including our hero, Marco and a perverse Meerkat who is named after the whiniest bitch out there. Just wait til you meet him.

Maybe because it's the last book but there are some INSANE things in this that might make you pee in your pants. You've been warned.

I commend Tara for another fantastic book and while I will miss these characters- I have no fear because I know Tara is a writing machine and there is lots more to come from her.

And while I wait, I'll probably get myself into trouble doing God knows what but it won't be my fault. Tom Brady made me do it.

Really disappointed in this book. First 50% was about Marco meeting, and being accepted by the family. But as the man that knocked up their unmarried daughter, every conversation was all threats in some sort to make life hard for him. I know that some people think it´s fun when the father is threatening the boyfriend of their daughter with them having a shotgun, but I have always found it extremely off putting, and respectless for everyone involved, so therefore it did not interest me in any way the first 50%.

There is not a lot of romance between Marco and Molly. Marco is thrown into meeting her family before they even have announced any sorts of feelings for each other, and they are not actually talking, kissing and alone before 70%. After then the story was okay, because there actually happened something. Before the 70% the story was just every member of that family yelling of each other, and hitting each other. Like they use to. I loved it in the other books, but where it before was a part of the story – meaning there was a plot that carried the story along – then in this book the crude language WAS the story. It just took overhand, and was so boring.
I had hoped Gavin would have had a bigger role in the book, as it´s because Charlotte fear his reaction of her being pregnant that Molly and Marco are thrown into this mess of faking a pregnancy to her parents. He´s basically not present in this story.

One star because it was a mess of a story, that I will not read again, and can´t recommend it to others. Even if you loved the earlier books. The story didn't add anything to their world. The characters was happy alive in the last book. They should have been left in peace.

I am so sad to see the end of this series................but seriously Tara did an amazing job giving us one last hooray and send off for these characters. I fell in love with the parents in the original series and have to say that the kids have been just as much fun to read. The whole idea of the next generation and that fact that grew up around such amazing and hilarious parents.

Ok hands down the best part of this book has to be Marco and his titled position of "Minivan Operator"!! I will not ruin the meaning of this, but just say that my husband is the proud driver of a Minivan, but not quite the same way that Drew and Jenny envision. I could only imagine walking into Molly's household as the babies daddy and seeing her Mom and Claire playing out The Fight Club Scene, but hell that is what we have come to expect from this crazy family. Hell Marco has quite the crazy family himself and when the get together it is quite an overwhelming event!!

I guess in closing the final chapter of the book was just this icing on the cake and made me realize how this series will be a classic in my mind forever. I get the honor to attend a book event this summer that Tara will be at and I can't wait to meet this amazing chick!! Thanks for all the memories and know that I have both laughed and cried over the course of this series and loved every freaking minute of it.

I am so very sad to say goodbye to these characters. This series from Tara has made me laugh till I cried. Seduction and Snacks was the book that led me to Mz. Sivec and my life had never been the same. This is my go to series when the day is gloomy and I need a laugh! I recommend it more than any other series I have ever read and as a blogger that is a lot!

The gang is back is all it's glory! WARNING you will start off with a song stuck in your head for days but it is so worth it!

This is Molly's story, yep the Ninja...but everyone is here in all there shining glory!

If I could highlight this whole book I would have!

Marco is the perfect addition to the group of insane people!

We say farewell to Clare, Carter, Liz, Jim, Drew, Jenny, Gavin, Charlotte, Ava, Tyler, Molly and Marco in this final installment.

I laughed my butt off through the whole thing! I actually teared up at the end. I have journeyed with these crazies and they have made me laugh, HARD! You must add this to your collection of reads to bring you out of the blues.

Just a few of the quotes I highlighted:
"Mental patient, party of me, your padded cell is now available."

"I actually thought MY family was crazy. They look like the damn Brady Bunch compared to these people."

"“How about we take Marco-I-Swear-To-Fuck-If-You-Say-Polo-One-More-Fucking-Time-I-Will-Shove-My-Foot-Up-Your-Ass,"

I love this sequel series, just as much as I loved the Chocolate Lovers series. But maybe, just maybe, this one, Chocoholics, was more fun to read. From the first words of the author and the prologue to epilogue I laughed so much, and since this is the last book in the Seduction and Snacks world I may have had some water in my eye in the end.
I really love the dynamics in the group, the "stupidness" too, and there was a lot of it. This series, its characters and stories are the best to read when you're feeling low, when you need humor and fun in your life. I promise you, you will laugh, roll your eyes and 'OMG' a lot. Also, you might be gross out too...
The epilogue, though, that was so important. We don't often see so far behind our favorite's characters life and HEA, but here we do and even though some of them are pretty ridiculous, others are downright emotional... That last like a paragraph though, because this is a comedy from beginning to end and I love it with all my heart. I picked this book at not such a good time for me and it has make me feel wonderful and cheerful.
I totally recommend it to you, and if you haven't read the previous series or this one, you should totally do it. Also, the book is coming out soon, so wait for it, is AWESOMELY FUN!

Good ending to a great series

I fell in love with this series when it was Liz and Claire. I live Tara's unique style of writing. She introduced me to romcom and I absolutely love it. This was a awesome way tiki end the series.
