Muis heeft leeuw gered, want de leeuw had een val gezet en was er dan zelf ingevallen. De muis heeft dan het koord doorgeknaagd zodat de leeuw gered is.

We've read this so many times he practically knows it off by heart. Some age appropriate puzzles and memory tests at the back which are also enjoyed.

Noah was fully engaged with this one. For me the story offered little.

I read this book in Georgian. "ლომი და თაგვი" it is a simple retelling of the Aesop's fable of a mouse who wakes a lion and promises to help the angry lion if the lion spares him. The lion laughs, but later the mouse does help the lion. The illustrations are delightful.

This book also fit into the folk literature category. This book has a good moral of friendship, and that not all friendships are always very typical.

I enjoyed this story of two unpredictable friends that form a bond to help one another. The lion spared the mouse's life after the mouse accidentally woke the lion. Following that, Mouse helped lion get out of a trap by biting through the rope that had the lion trapped underneath of it. I would read this to my class and ask them to foreshadow sequence of events, and what they would do in those particular situations.

The lion and the mouse tale is a story with a beautiful lesson. No matter your size you can do big things. The story also teaches about the value of friendships. Everyone has something to offer. Great book for little kids.
