Finding solace amid the grief

Bounded By The Mountain Man is related to the Crimson Hollow: Kane Brothers series. This is an opposites attract mixed with mountain man, forced proximity, and age-gap romance. The story is about Jordyn Kane, the only daughter in the family, and Silas McCrae, the family lawyer. When their father dies it is Jordyn who ends up dealing with all the legal issues as her brothers are MIA. As Silas is the family lawyer they will work closely together to deal with all the issues and paperwork. What starts as a working sort of relationship turns into a lot more as they dig deeper into the legal things and their emotions. Between them they discover a new dynamic that might just work in their real lives, if they make the choice to give in to their desires.
This was a really enjoyable story, even as it tugged at the heartstrings and I wept a few tears along the way. Jordyn and Silas are forced together but he is also the one who will be there for her as she grieves the loss of her father, since her brothers are no where to be seen. Silas has also grieved the lose of his wife and now his best friend.

Jordyn is in Crimson Hollow to bury her father.
Silas was her dad's attorney and has info to give her.
He tells her some of the info about her father and his holdings and how he's given the vineyard to his sons. Jordyn gets the cottage and land. If she wants to sell she needs to live on the land for three months. There is a lot that she needs to unpack and the one thing Silas promised her dad was he'd take care of her. Then sparks fly.
A beautiful story about family dysfunctional but a family nevertheless.

"Bounded By The Mountain Man" by Ajme Williams (also listed as Diedre Ann Anderson) delivered an intensely emotional and steamy romance for me, perfectly blending classic tropes with a captivating BDSM dynamic. This novella introduced me to Jordyn Kane, a curvy journalist grappling with immense grief and a complex legal mess after her father's unexpected death, and Silas McCrae, her father's reclusive, gruff, yet undeniably magnetic lawyer.

The story opened with Jordyn at her father's funeral, a poignant scene made even more heartbreaking by the absence of her six half-brothers. Alone and overwhelmed, she found an unexpected anchor in Silas. He was quiet, intense, and seemed to instinctively understand her needs, offering not just legal guidance but also a powerful, comforting presence. Their forced proximity as they navigated her father's complicated estate quickly turned legal work into intimate, transformative nights.

This book truly shined in its exploration of the "grumpy sunshine" and "opposites attract" dynamics. Jordyn, at 32, was vulnerable and breaking, while Silas, a 47-year-old hunky widower with dominant tendencies, was built to hold her together. Their age gap was present but seamlessly integrated into the narrative, which I appreciated. The "instalove" aspect was handled with a "slow-burn vibe," allowing their intense chemistry to develop authentically.

A central theme that resonated with me was Jordyn's discovery that "submission isn’t weakness—it’s release." Silas, with his dominant nature, provided a safe space for her to surrender, offering a unique form of "hurt/comfort" that seemed deeply healing for both of them. Their relationship transcended the bedroom, evolving into a profound emotional connection as they navigated grief and the unexpected comfort of finding solace in each other's arms.

I would praise this novella for its "insane chemistry" and its ability to deliver both spicy scenes and genuine emotional breakthroughs within its concise length. It's a testament to the idea that a "competent lawyer with dominant tendencies" can be the perfect "protective alpha" for a heroine finding strength in surrender. The narrative also touched upon the powerful concept of found family, suggesting it can be stronger than blood ties, as Jordyn found support and love where she least expected it.

"Bounded By The Mountain Man" was a captivating read for me, perfect for those who enjoy BWWM interracial romance with strong BDSM undertones, possessive alpha heroes, and heroines who discover strength in unexpected ways. It's a steamy, emotional journey with a guaranteed Happily Ever After, promising a quick yet fulfilling escape into a world of intense connection and healing.

Rating: 4.5/5 stars.

Bounded By The Mountain Man by Diedre Ann Anderson is an age gap romance with elements of power exchange and family dysfunctionality. When her father passes, Jordyn Kane is left floundering as she tries to make sense of his final wishes and his murky last will and testament. While she has six older brothers, they are aloof, and she does not have a relationship with any of them. During this trying time, her singular source of support comes from Silas McCrae, her father’s friend and attorney. Silas knows very well what it means to grieve and to feel adrift. As the pair connect to unravel her father’s affairs, workaholic Jordyn finds solace and comfort in releasing her burdens into Silas’s steady care. However, their time together has an early expiration date as Jordyn has a job to return to and their love connection, while intense, is brand new. Will they be able to form a permanent bond or will their differences prove too much to overcome? I really enjoyed this well-written romance with two very appealing lead characters and a gentle depiction of the BDSM lifestyle, tastefully rendered.

Jordyn is an investigative reporter in Toronto, she is in town for her father's funeral, and to get his affairs in order. The relationship between Jordyn and her father was strained to say the least, after her mother's passing her father retreated, keeping her at arms length. But cancer and knowing the end is near can make people face reality and try to right the wrongs they made throughout their lives. Jordyn stands at her father's funeral, her six half-brother's refusing to be there for the dad that left their mother for Jordyn's. Feeling alone and lost, Silas offers Jordyn everything she didn't know she needed. Silas is a forty-seven-year-old Lawyer and a friend to her father. The age difference between them is fifteen-years, but the connection they share from the beginning proves that age is just a number. Deidre wrote about loss, control, and love that transcends time and space so well, I couldn't put it down. This is the prequel to the Kane Brother's series and I can't wait to read more very soon.

Bounded By The Mountain Man is a steamy, instalove with a slow-burn vibe, OTT, age-gap, forced-proximity, opposites-attract, BWWM, BDSM, Dom/sub, Grumpy Sunshine, curvy girl gets her mountain man romance. Jordyn is a 32-year-old curvy journalist who is grieving the loss of her father. We open at the funeral where she is the only child present, her six older half brothers not attending. Silas is a 47-year-old hunky, slightly grumpy widower, and attorney with a dominant side. He is the attorney handling her father's complicated estate and he was also his friend. As they spend time together, feelings grow. Silas sees the need for her to surrender and she sees that he likes to be in control. The dynamic between these two was beautiful. They had insane chemistry and we got such a happy ending after some angst. This one was both spicy and emotional at times. I loved it and can't wait to read about the other Kane brothers and Trish too!!.

I just love her books and can’t wait for this series! This prequel really sets the scene for the series. Great characters with many facets. Jordyn is an amazing woman who has been left with the task of dealing with her father’s affairs after his death. Her father was distant and closed off in much of his life. She has a hard time dealing with his will and turns to his lawyer to seek answers. She has six half brothers all much older that she hasn’t had much contact with if any. The lawyer is rough around the edges; however he helps her by giving her a place to stay when she has no where to go due to her hotel having to close temporarily. During the forced proximity the find the attraction builds. They fall in love while navigating the upheaval her father has left behind. Overall this book is an excellent read; the series then starts with Jordyn’s six half brothers and their lives.

Jordyn pulled me in emotionally immediately. Because what she was giving was messy unresolved business about her father. They had a wall of silence and she was finding out too late how truly proud he was of her. I felt her surprise, a bit of anger and a lot of regret over not knowing any of that. Honestly, she made me want to cry.

Slias had his own issues to deal with, but he was such a solid and consistent wall of strength for Jordyn. I also liked that he respected whatever she was feeling and never tried to manage it. He knew her father well, but it was what it was. He was there to help. And she helped him.

They pulled on each other in the best ways to create something that was lovely and that both needed in a fundamental way.

Really good read.

Age gap romance.
Jordynn is a young woman who came to the mountains following the death of her father. While she faces the succession process with seven absent half-brothers, she meets Silas, the executor of her father's estate, for whom she falls head over heels.
Silas is a man who came to live in a small mountain town a few years ago after living his life in a big city; he is now the executor of a friend's estate. When he finally meets Jordynn, his friend's daughter, it's love at first sight.
Will Jordynn and Silas have a beautiful story, or will the age difference and Silas's role in the succession process tear them apart….

Bounded By The Mountain Man by Deidre-Ann Anderson is the prequel to the Kane Brothers series. Jordyn Kane's father abandoned his wife and sons and to marry (his pregnant mistress) hermother. This caused a huge rift so, until her father's death, she never had the opportunity to met her six half-brothers. Silas is Jordyn's father's friend, lawyer, and executor of his will. Silas was instantly attracted to Jordyn but reluctant to act upon it, due to Jordyn's emotional state and respect and loyalty to her father. Forced proximity and Jordyn's curiosity, willingness, and insistence to give BDSM a try weakened Silas's resolve to treat her as his client's daughter.

Jordyn and Silas will take you on an emotional roller coaster.   It begins with her father's funeral and her interactions with Silas, her father's attorney.   Since her six half brothers are MIA, everything falls on her to clean up and what a mess her father left.  She finds herself relying more and more on Silas as their relationship grows.  The book is well written and tense.  The healing begins in the bedroom as they become intimate.  Emotional and intense at times.   His dominant tendencies lead to a little BDSM. I received a free copy of this book via the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

The description for this book was intriguing which drew me in to a genre I don’t typically read. I was pleasantly surprised by Silas’ sanctuary and the strength in submission and power in letting go.

Jordyn was similarly surprised and found her soulmate in Silas, who was the first to see all of her. After six years of solitude, Silas did not expect Jordyn to complement and complete him.

These characters come alive on the page and their experiences resonate with the reader on different levels. Detailed world building made it easy to visualize Crimson Hollow and the supporting cast.

This was my first experience reading Diedre-Ann Anderson’s work. I really enjoyed her clear writing style and her ability to show not tell.

This is the first time I could say to an author that this novella could be easily be turned into a major length novel. I hope she does because the last 1/4 of the story felt a bit rushed. But I’m still giving this novella 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ because the BDSM aspect of the narrative was a beautiful love story.

I thoroughly enjoyed the time that I spent reading this prequel and will definately be reading more of her work. 😘

I enjoyed this book. it took a turn, rather quickly, but it was a good turn. I loved what Silas was able to provide for her and the dynamic he introduced her to. There is something freeing about relinquishing control and guided submission, and I think Jordyn embraced it perfectly. The evolution of not only their love but their self reflection was refreshing. I don't think anyone reading will be disappointed.

I really liked the writing style of this story. I was so excited to read a story of older adults rather than college students. Silas is a complex character that has depth to them. The depth of the emotions is something that is rare to find in a book. I wish the book was longer to allow more character development and more information on the actions resulting in Jordyn's family coming together. It's a quick read, but a good one.

Great series opener - Jordyn's left to sort her dad's affairs alone, her only support his lawyer Silas. They're attracted to each other, but he refuses to take advantage of her while she's grieving. He doesn't have any rules about helping her release her tension though. And not through therapeutic massage. A great shorty with a little steamy that kicks off what purports to be a great series.

I enjoyed Jordyn and Silas's story. I can relate it Jordyn in some ways. It would be great to have someone take all the decisions how you, and you just follow their lead. It's this connection with Silas that I think it's the strongest point of the book. Silas is relatable as well. Throwing yourself into work after a tragedy. They made a cute couple and really balanced each other out. It's a good prequel start to the series. I can't wait to read more about the Kane Brothers.

I felt for Jordyn, she'd been through a lot and was trying to handle her grief and revelations. The connection and chemistry between her and Silas was there right from the start. I liked that he didn't force or pressure her, that he understood her like no other and in each other they found what they both needed. I liked seeing them together and hope to see more of them in her brother's books.

Enjoyed reading this and getting to know these characters. I love that they are instantly attracted to one another but he is mature enough to own up and not rush things. I was a bit nervous about the BDSM elements but I think this was a pretty good intro for a newbie, he was very patient and did a good job explaining things. Jordyn is grieving the loss of her father of her father. She doesn't have a relationship with her six half-brothers. She is there at the service alone until her father's lawyer Silas arrives. He takes her under his wing after the service and starts to take care of her. An attraction starts to build between the two, but will they let go and let love lead the way.
