Tina Calderon was a dedicated wife and mother whose life was shattered by her husband’s betrayal. Joe Calderon lived for his family, but succumbed to temptation for another woman. Greg Larson offered Tina refuge from the storm that overwhelmed her life. He gave her his love, loyalty and understanding. Was it enough? How strong are the ties that bind a woman to her husband and a man to his wife?
Scribd binge I don’t like to rate self-publish books unless they are really good, because it makes me feel mean; I’m not sure if this is a self-pub, but it feels like it. Necessary Choices is a hubs cheating trope book following childhood sweethearts Joe and Tina. Joe and Tina have been married for 17 years; going in we know that they are very much in love, and got married very young. The book is told through three POV’s: Joe, Tina and Greg. I thought Greg’s was not needed as much of it is based on his FBI job with a side plot that adds nothing to the story.
Tina comes off a bit dense, or an airhead. She kind of just says ok, and follows along with anything. She’s pretty flat, and you don’t get any real deep emotion from her. Oddly enough, I found Joe more likeable. He had some depth, and character growth.
The writing style might annoy some; it comprises of choppy sentence structures, too many details, and repeats names a lot. For example…
When I came home that afternoon, I carried a box with a brand laptop computer inside of it…. I carried the box up to the bedroom and set it down on the bed. I went back downstairs to my car, and got a bag containing a few accessories for the new computer. I paid cash for these things…..
And….
“Joe, what’s wrong?” “Nothing” Yes there is Joe.” I’m just tired Tina.”
The plot is quite immature, I am not familiar with the author, but suspect she is young and hasn’t had a serious relationship because it’s not very realistic. We as the reader know Joe is cheating with Shelly, a divorcee he is doing a remodel for, but Tina doesn’t know. Joe is withdrawing because he feels guilt even though he can’t stop. Tina meets Greg and is attracted, but loves her Joe…but still talks online, and agrees to a picnic date. He kisses her with tongue which she participates. She pulls back, tells him she married, and has never been unfaithful to her husband. He says OK, then like 15 sentences later asks if he can kiss her again which she replies Yes.
After discovering the affair, she moves in with Greg; at first they only kiss, but after she catches Joe again she decides she loves Greg, and they started humping like bunnies. Meanwhile, Joe has a personality transplant, and becomes a mature thoughtful man. Greg and Tina keep up their thing; Joe becomes responsible, superdad. At the end, Tina decides to get back with Joe.
Bottom line- It wasn’t horrible, but wasn’t really great either. I skipped over most of Greg’s parts, and the boring parts. It's not very emotional, so neither the cheating, or her man choice stirred my emotions. Just kind of Meh.
I didn't found any review.. before reading this So decided to write one myself ...
**"Tina and Joe had been married from 17 years!! Five year back Joe started his own carpentery Shop. They had two children of 17and 16 years of age...one day Tina found the evidence of him cheating on her!!! Joe started coming late from work, not the first time, of course ...
Tina s husband was having a habbit of cheating on her 😠 He had the habbit of screwing the ladies when ever he goes to remodel a house... First time Tina cought her, because the female's husband was giving her divorce...he screwed her three times!!! He would have done more, but that female didn't invite him.. Tina forgave him... Second time he started doing it on regular basis, he was going regularly having sex with that Whore, taking her Nudes! Sexting her...it would have continued , if Tina didn't check his cell... *** Tina gave him ultimatum 😠if he went to that WHORE again , she would divorce him !!! Spoiler:The very next day , she found him naked in her house, in her bed , she was giving a blow job to him... "Baby I love you only.. She doesn't mean anything..." Those were his words again within a couple of days... So much for loving, your wife of 17 years.. He went to his uncle Roger's place,a family gathering..saw another man's Mistress 😍😋 Went after her.. His uncle Roger put him straight 😨 Your wife left you , because you cheated on her ! Now instead of winning her back you are Whoring " I love WOMEN WOMEN love me!! I love playing around 🤨" So no regrets !!!
Tina left him , immediately.. He was never going to change... On the contrary she had a nice man waiting for her, she should have learnt from her mistakes... She wasted her life over one cheating asshole .. Joe regretted Tina catching him..not cheating her.. regretted that she had Greg Larson , a nice man who loved her, given her his love and a place to stay in his home, his ❤️ Joe refused Tina giving children.. The house... everything she worked 17 years to build... She would have been homeless, penniless without George.. ****Greg Larson was a respectable man, he loved and respected Tina, he gave her time and space and his unconditional love ❤️ ****Joe loved Tina , he loved fucking other women more...Tina was a convenient to him, a free house keeper, nanny and Free fuck when he needs.. **** Tina loved her husband all her life Devoted to him, loved her home, her children.. She was heart💔 by his adultery... Still she went back to him !! Now what ❓❓ After two years Sophie and Danny will go to college ,Tina will be still young 34years.. Joe will be 36 years old, still sleeping with Shelly Donavan or her kind, those are free to have sex anywhere anytime with a Marride Man! *""This Tina will not be opening her mouth on Joe's Adultery 😨😬 she herself had burnt her bridges.. There will be no Greg Larson to help her ...her husband would be fucking other Women ,he would be fucking her , when nobody else was available 🥺😟 This is what she accepted 🤦

Re read 4\15 There are no doubt elements missing, some of the writing may seem flat.Or perhaps simply in everyday vernacular? I believe this is overly and unfairly critiqued, perhaps partly due to that lack of eloquence. Readers citing its flaws, without noting the positives.
The highlights for me? The easy familial connections, their history, love that grew and sustained since Teen pregnancy. We hear details far too late in the story though for prime impact. The on page cheating and recurrent confrontations. I didn't see her actions as revenge cheating. Nothing was covert. His don juan, entitled attitude was he-man suckey. Suspicion had been building for a time,so when she discovered the Infidelity, she needed to get away As she had been building a friendly connection.,it seemed natural to lean to Greg for support He was outside their circle,no ties to Joe. I do appreciate the love and care Greg has for Tina, although an accelerated time line, feels genuine. The author was on the cusp of incurring reader wrath towards cheater Joe.Perhaps she falls short for not giving earlier insight into his emotions or motivesJoe,signed his own death warrant (for the marriage) as he was non repentant....immediately going back for more ,warned, does it anyway and get caught mid BJ(not directly in her sight) Only re read half so far.Unsure if I want to see her reunite w Joe again, who admits that although he will never cheat again as separation from Tina is Hell,He will always be a salivating dog for sex w other woman!😂😂😂

Unusual love story between Joe and Tina, teenage lovers who married before tuna was 18. Joe messed around on Tina for the second time during marriage. She caught onto that fact of Joe's affair w Shelley a past customer of his. While this was happening Tina met her FBI friend, who she turned to and stayed at his home while upset n frustrated w Joe. She fell in love with Mr FBI, but the ending threw me and I'm still digesting whether I like it or not. Will be honest and say Tina's character lost all of my respect and felt bad for FBI guy and her using him.
