Macabre fiction. Horror fiction. Dark fiction. Whatever you choose to call it, that is what is contained within this collection of short stories. But other than that, these tales are as varied as can be. Ghost stories... they're in there. Lovecraftian monsters... certainly. Twist endings... got it. Psychological terror... of course. Sunny, happy endings... not so much. Oh, and one other thing these stories have in they are intended for a mature audience- one who is not easily offended, I might add.
I discovered this as a podcast *years* ago and recently started listening again because my son remembered one of the stories. The stories are just as good now as when I first heard them.
Going back to the beginning, this was the first podcast that had me hooked into Itunes. In my search for a horror fiction, scary story, camp fire, listen to in the dark podcast, I came across this.
Come let me whisper. The show can be split into three segments, Come let me whisper, short twisted tales of terror written by the narrator, Russell L Burt. Whisper back, high quality stories sent in by the fans and finally, Revelations, a novel length story told over several episodes. On the whole Russell steers clear of graphic violence and splatter horror in exchange for clever twists and shocking reveals.
The stories are always original and excellently written and I’m surprised I can’t find more in ebook form for my Kindle from this guy! He has a great voice for narration too and I hope we can hear more from him soon! Although Russell has since stopped putting out new episodes there is a wealth of shows for any new listener to catch up on!
