She traded a crown for a sword—and now she must trade her sword for a wedding vow.
Princess Leone of Alderia has never fit the mold of a proper royal. Known as the "Golden Lion," she chose armor over dresses and honor over obedience, rising through the ranks to become the kingdom’s fiercest knight general.
But when the enemy nation of Zergios teeters on the edge of ruin, a shocking proposal arrives—not of war, but of marriage. Her husband-to-be? None other than Marshal Berthold, the man she has clashed swords with countless times on the battlefield.
Alone and armored, Leone journeys into enemy territory to marry her rival. It's a political arrangement, a means of control—nothing more. But as Berthold's silent strength and awkward kindness begin to disarm her, Leone finds her well-trained heart wavering for the first time.
Two warriors, once bound by blade, now bound by vows—can love bloom where only steel once stood?
I really liked this one, despite the shortness of the manga. I’m getting used to that, most mangas are quick reads. But I digress.
I like the characters, they are honorable and stay true to how they are built. The storyline makes sense and I really want to see how their relationship and the storyline makes sense progress. I like the marriage of convenience trope and while they DID fight on the battlefield, they aren’t enemies/hate each other, which if not done well is not my fav.
The artwork is pretty too, so that doesn’t hurt either.
4, I will be seeking out the next volume, stars.

The cover is misleading. It looks like Leone intends to slit Berthold’s throat. But she’s not a prisoner or a hostage. This is a political marriage where HER country has the advantage. It feels more like “socially awkward soldiers fall in love” than “enemies to lovers”. I liked it.
I really enjoy this. I like the strength of the FL, the calm agreement between Leone and Berthold (but it is by no means easy for either of them) to work together, and I like the characters and the world.
