Book III in THE DUTY SERIES

Detective Cody Miller earned her stripes on the streets of New York. As her partner, Ellie James, jets off to Italy with her neurosurgeon girlfriend, Cody takes on a strange case. A woman is missing; or so Kim Reed, an alluring lawyer with a loaded past and an unusual gift, seems to think. As Cody investigates, her attraction to Reed reaches fever-pitch...

But can they trust each other?

Meanwhile, Cody’s superior, LT. Quinn Wesley, is in trouble. Someone is trying to destroy her reputation, career, and sanity with vicious, targeted online blogs. Quinn’s wife, award-winning filmmaker Lia Kennedy, will be damned if she lets anyone attack the woman she loves. But as Lia investigates, her own past comes back to haunt her with a vengeance.

In the heat of a Lewiston summer, danger sizzles and passions flare.

I devoured the first two books because who doesn't love a woman in uniform but the third book was a solid 4 star. I had to think a moment of what character's POV it was and then remember who they were talking about. I probably should have read the first two books over again just to remember the characters but it was easy to fall back into things once you kept reading. About 1/4 of the way through the book I finally had a good grasp of the characters.

Detective Cody Miller is working alone since her partner, Ellie, was off overseas for a vacation. Enter Kim Reed, a lawyer who has a unique gift that Cody can't comprehend off the bat. Kim who is attractive and Cody picks up the case. Cody, who falls for Kim. Cody, who solves a murder and becomes the backbone to Kim, while she falls apart.

All while another storyline is falling into place with Quinn (Cody's LT) and her wife Lia. Someone is making horrible accusations about Quinn's work ethic and essentially gets paid leave while the department figures out if these accusations are true or not. Quinn's world is falling apart and in hindsight, so is Lia's. Can they figure out who is writing these incriminating articles, positing them online for all to see, or will Quinn's career come to an end??

This thrill seeking novel will leave you wanting more!

I always love Natalie's book. This one was no exception. I really liked that got to see the characters from previous books in this series. I loved Quinn and Lia and having them very involved in this story was a delight. The featured couple has a great arc as they meet while Kim is reporting a murder she sees in a vision. The paranormal aspect made the book really sing. The plot depends on it! Don't miss this one -- the Butch/Femme pairing is hot, the cop stories are engrossing and the psychic aspect surprising.

Too much

to keep track of. If you’re going to write a mystery, do that, this was half mystery, half erotica and a smidgen of romance. All of which disrupted the plot no matter which part you were trying to follow. Not just one police case either, three, plus a terrorist attack - far too much going on to try to follow what could have been a really good story if it had just focused mainly on one aspect and let the others be side plots. As it was, it was interesting, but the distraction of hopping from one thing to another every other page keeps this to three stars.

Super romp.

This is a terrific series of stories concerning strong female first responders, who doesn't love a woman in uniform. A clairvoyant lawyer Kim falls instantly for Cody and adventure ensues, like previous books theres an interesting crime to be solved, we meet up with characters from the previous books I always enjoy that aspect, but the story stands on its own. A really 🔥 romance full of passion and vulnerability you can't help loving them yourself. I've read all books by this writer and never been disappointed.

exciting

Great third book in the Duty Series.
Cody is one of my favourite characters in this series, so to have her own HEA is perfect. Kim is quite the character, not in a bad way more a mysterious way. The drama is definitely turned up to 11 in this one, while also being sweet and mushy.
Catching up with the rest of the gang in this latest instalment makes it even better for me personally. I’ve read other series of books that previously mentioned characters just disappear. Love this group of friends, long may it last.

Action Packed & Love In Abundance For Duty Series Book 3❤️

The gang is back and our new member is a lawyer in town. Cody Miller gets her story and meets the love of her life in Kim Reed. Kim has special powers and she goes to the police station where she meets Cody. She wants someone to check on a woman who she believes is dead. How it comes to her added such an interesting twist to the story. Ellie and. Janet are back from Italy. Natalie has taken Book 3 on an emotional roller coaster and we are holding on tight. Loved the story.

Would've only liked it more if there wasn't so many switches in the POVs. I wanted them to keep it more with Kat and Cody for this one, It would've worked better if there weren't that many POV changes. Otherwise, I thought this was a really deep story letting us get a look into Cody's past love and her realization that she can and should move on from her ex, since she is not coming back and Kim wants that relationship with her long-term.

FABULOUS STORY, EXCELLENT WRITING

I truly wish I could give this sweet, deserving book review at least 6 stars. The love shown through with these characters. The honor, the integrity, the love for friends and lovers was beautiful. Praises for atalie Debrabandere’s wonderful characters.

Exciting continuation of this series! Unique storyline that still adds to the overall Lewiston PD feel and characters. The relationship ships move fast as usual but keeps with the quick and page-turning read! I enjoyed detective Cody and Kim’s interactions and connections to the larger group of characters!

Sexy policewomen and their sexy girlfriends and/or wives, you can't go wrong with this third book in the series. They're all very well written and we wouldn't expect anything less from Natalie Debrabandere.
