The description is kind of misleading. I thought someone dared her to go into the program. Claire takes a tour of the place her family started and just on a whim decides to try it out herself. She signs papers without reading them. She is lead into a room where she is stripped and spanked right in front of others. She is dressed up in a junior resident outfit with short skirt. The next day she decides she has had enough and walks to the administration office. It is closed for the weekend. Claire then throws a tantrum. The head mistress takes her by the arm and leads her down the hall to her punishment. Her mouth is washed with soap and she is spanked again. Not only is Claire punished but the resident that was like her "big sister" is punished for not keeping a better watch on her. Finally Monday comes and Claire thinks she is getting out. She is told the papers she signed allow them to keep her there until she finishes the program. Also they give all her financial control away too. This book is big on psychology. It seems to take pages to get anything done. How Claire feels when she is stripped at first. Like they are peeling away parts of her. I have read a couple short books by this same writer that I did not like much, but I thought I would read one more book. I barely finished this. Some people might like it but not for me. One thing that bothered me was the women give in way to quickly. Sure there is a couple times Claire makes demands but when they are ignored she goes quietly along. There is no mention of any security guards. There are no big burly interns to make the women mind. When Claire throws her first tantrum the head mistress just waits for her to run out of steam and then grabs her arm and off they go. Claire make no effort to pull her arm back. She makes no physical effort to walk out the door or run away. She seemed really weak willed to be a powerful rich woman. I doubt I read any mor by this writer.
