Aiming to clearly define the meaning and significance of Advent, God with Us is the latest Advent Study Guide from CWR in the Cover to Cover range. It aims to clearly define the meaning and significance of Advent for a generation in which for many believers, it is merely a religious tradition and/or stressful time of the year preceding Christmas. This 31-day guide takes us through the Advent season with a Bible reading, reflection, a section for considering or discussing, prayer and meditation. As well as the daily devotional notes, at the end of each week there is a section to help you use this as part of a group. The reflections will move from questioning our perception and renewing our understanding of Advent with the resultant and ongoing emphasis on Immanuel. These devotions will enable the reader to embrace a clearer significance of Advent, which will challenge and inspire them to stand firm against the tide of commercialism that often drowns Christ out of Christmas. A great study which give a spiritual focus for personal or group use through the Advent season.
Anne was born and brought up in Guernsey but now lives in Worcestershire with her husband, three delightful chickens (‘the girls’), a skinny country garden, and a paddock where she grows her own veg. She loves to make time for leisurely meals with friends, days out walking the hills, and cosying up by the fire with a good book.
Anne's passion is to bring the bible’s teachings alive to our daily reality; helping us understand it, and making it accessible in ways that inspire application to our lives at a deeper level. She does this through writing books, blogs, articles and bible study notes, as well as preaching and speaking at churches, conferences and seminars throughout England.
