Secret Billionaires #5

Marrying My Billionaire Rockstar

Rate this book
I’m a geeky virgin with trust issues. So I’m definitely NOT into hot bad boy rockstars.

I thought the annoying, hot guy worked at the mansion. Turns out, he owns the mansion. A fact he forgot to mention…

He’s Caleb Wolfe—tattooed, cocky, infuriatingly hot, and apparently a famous rockstar.

One accidental kiss at a charity event? Boom—tabloid chaos.

Then I lose my job, and he makes me an offer I definitely should’ve

Fake marriage. Real cash. Zero strings.

But living together is nothing like I imagined. Caleb makes me laugh. He takes care of me. He treats me like something precious.

Somewhere between "I do" and "let’s not catch feelings," I give him my v-card.

And we turn our fake marriage into something very real.

But then I overhear him talking about annulling the marriage… and my heart shatters.

Was any of it real? Unclear.

This pregnancy test? Crystal. Freaking. Clear.

Marrying My Billionaire Rockstar is a steamy standalone romance—each book in the series can be read independently.

This was so bad.

The inconsistencies in the story were painful.

It's so obvious the author has never shopped for a bridal gown. They would never leave someone to fend for themselves getting out of a dress that has a corset. Plus, they won't pin a dress for alterations, then just leave.

The author has never worn a corset before, either. You don't forget you have one on. Even if you do, you sit very straight and uncomfortably, which your fiance would notice.

Major inconsistency: Both sets of parents are waiting for the bride to cone down the aisle.... then dad is walking our bride down the aisle.

Can she not spell "scene"? Twice it's spelled "szene"!

We get pregnant on the honeymoon. A few days later, she's having morning sickness? It takes a few weeks for that to kick in. 3 days after that, she has her first appointment, and they use a belly wand for an ultrasound????? No!!! It's a vaginal wand that's used!

Our rockstar writes a song for her without a chorus. The lyrics are in the book. Then he talks about singing a chorus....twice...

HIRE A PROOF READER! PLEASE!

Caleb Wolfe and Alexa Carter . . .

Alexa Carter stared at the huge, impressive mansion. The equipment she needs to haul inside is heavy and no staff member ran out to help. But she is here to do a job: assess the existing security system, propose updates, and ensure everything runs smoothly -- then she gets paid and goes home. A guy finally comes out and she figures he is a groundskeeper with all those muscles. So she tells him to grab the heavy case in her trunk. They get inside and she asks where the control room is, surprised to hear it is in the basement and not in a secured wing. He smirks and asks if she’s always this bossy, and she counters asking if he is always this cocky. He moves easily as if he owns the place, and she doesn’t want to deal with entitled, over-the-top egos. And the guy is still lounging nearby and watching her with a smirk, enjoying how different she is from most women. Alexa is sharp, focused, and completely unfazed by the absurd wealth surrounding her. All that matters to her is that the security she’s looking at is top of the line, but definitely needs updating. Whoever owns this place clearly has good taste. But it’s all very... impersonal. Things meant to project an image, rather than reflect a life.

When Caleb Wolfe’s manager Trever calls, he tells Caleb his visa is running out and needs immediate attention within 60 days or he will have to return to Canada. His label will help, but only if he creates more publicity to keep his name on the charts. And he glances over to Alexa, wishing she just might provide a perfect solution! Caleb makes her a cup of cappuccino with the fancy machine when her work is finished, and she is amazed at how good it is. He really knows music and she has fun arguing with him about what they like. Later she told Sophia about him and said what she really wants in a guy is someone she can trust.

Caleb can’t get Alexa off his mind. She stood up to him, challenged him, and spoke her mind. Her security firm is having a charity event that weekend and Caleb figured he could make an appearance there with his band to help raise money for the good cause. But some teens recognize him and he has to hide in a cleaning supply closet. When Alexa walks past, he grabs her and pulls her in… then he kisses her -- and she lets him! When they finally stop, she asks his name. But as they walk out the back entrance door, blinding lights go off as the paparazzi and fans go wild! And everyone is asking about his “girlfriend”! So when he later asks her to be his fake wife, it’s not as shocking as it might have been. They are very good together. But when she begins to suspect she may be pregnant, despite their being careful, she takes a pregnancy test to confirm it. How will Caleb react over her unexpected pregnancy? She rushes out to give him the wonderful news. He is in a meeting with his label rep and their voices are loud as she hears phrases like “disaster”, “annul the marriage”, and “salvage your public image”. Then Caleb responds, “I get the logic… annulment… ditch Alexa,” and her heart breaks. It seems the “fake” marriage was all too real. She didn’t even bother to leave him a note when she left.

Loved it

I wasn't too sure how this story would turn out but I was hooked. I loved how Alexa and Caleb met. Since she didn't know who he was, she wasn't too impressed with all the glamor. Caleb was instantly enamored with her and sought her out. When she found out who he really was, she felt humiliated. After his proposition, things escalated between them. I loved how he was constantly concerned for her welfare. The ending was great. Glad I read the book.

I’m honestly not sure if I liked this book or not. It started out strong and definitely held my interest, which is already saying something. But as the story went on, it felt rushed—too many things happening one after another without enough room to breathe. The heroine, in particular, had zero chill. Half the time I wanted to tell her, “Girl, sit down and make up your mind.”

On the flip side, the hero was the only one who came across as stable and sure of his feelings, which says a lot about his character. The love scenes, though, felt like they were trying too hard to be sexy but landed as mediocre at best. Still, I’m proud of myself for pushing through and finishing it.

Techie Alexa meets rock star Caleb when she is on a job. She doesn’t realize who he is initially, and he doesn’t inform her of who he is because he enjoys the anonymity. However, she finds out when the two of them are hijacked by the paparazzi before he can reveal his identity, and she accuses him of lying to her. I liked the premise of this book, but I wish the author had made a few changes. For one, I wish she had given the characters time to get to know each other better before the big reveal. Also, the falling in love thing went a little fast for me. There were also inconsistencies, which another reviewer pointed out specifically. I usually don’t hold that against an author if the overall story is good and characters are strong. I’d give 3 to 3 1/2 stars. That’s being generous.

I love a rockstar romance, but this just missed the mark for me. The story was kinda cute, but it was disjointed and lacked finesse. The transitions were so jarring. So many times I felt like, what just happened. For example, at one point they go from talking about her being a virgin to wham bam he's inside her and they're going at it. That's just an example. The whole book was this way.

Also why was scene spelled szene? I remember seeing it three times.

Had potential. But no.

What I liked the most was the end of the book. Not because it was a good end scene, I actually thought it was pretty terrible, in fact. That whole birth story didn't seem very plausible. No, I liked the end of the book because it was the end of the book and I no longer had to read this nonsense.

There's a fine line between immature/juvenile and youthful/whimsical. This book was on the immature and juvenile side. Between them "giggling" about rather dumb stuff on their honeymoon (i.e., raiding the liquor) and not being very interesting characters, I was ready for the book to be done. I kept waiting for it to get better and it never did.

I gave it two stars because I did like what he did to get her back. But that whole thing was dumb too. In the first place. You mean your girl is going to leave you and you are a rockstar and you are not going to do everything you can to find her and bring her back? You're going to wait weeks, if not months to get your girl? Really? And then even at their wedding, you didn't really hear much about his band. He's this big rockstar and one guy, Marcus was around because that was his best friend but the rest of his bands that is allegedly close to him wasn't really brought up at all. Kind of weird. So yeah, my favorite part of the book was the end and the fact that I no longer have to read it.

I'm not one to DNF a book. But on occasions, I wish I was. Sigh.

Quick Summary: A rockstar romance +

My Review: Marrying My Billionaire Rockstar by Ellen Young is book #5 in the Secret Billionaires series. It was published in 2025.

About the Book: "I thought the annoying, hot guy worked at the mansion. Turns out, he owns the mansion. A fact he forgot to mention…"

In My Own Words: A case of mistaken identity brings together a nerdy girl with sass and a sexy cinnamon stud rocker. Events lead them to a marriage of convenience. What could possibly go wrong?

My Final Say: I loved this fluffy romance. It checked all the boxes for my particular needs today. It had the rocker, the brainiac, the chemistry, the misunderstandings, the fiery and supportive friend group, the unexpected conflicts, the double surprise, the romance, and the HEA.

The things that stole my heart: the lyrics, the letters, and the love.

Other: Readers who enjoy rockstar romances, fake relationships, marriages of convenience, and introvert x extrovert couplings should really like this story.

Both leads are arrogant and overly confident, so clearly a match made in you know where.
The first interaction between them gave an inkling of what this story involved - plenty of snark, arrogance, smouldering (lol), flirting discussed as insults, secret identities and subterguge.
Happy to say that this changed and we saw both open up and expose their vulnerabilities.
Caleb ended up being an absolute marshmallow - soft and squishy. Alexa was a sweetheart, bearing the vindictiveness and judgement of executives and the public.
An absolute banger - a new song, a new baby and a very, very HEA.

Wow! Really Love This Story!

Absolutely awesome I totally love this story, Caleb and Alexa, their meeting at the mansion when they didn’t like each other, to the fake marriage, to them actually falling in love, to the honeymoon in Bora Bora. To the label wanting him to get rid of Alexa in favor of another woman and him refusing to do so. She overheard and misunderstood and took off, he tried to find her, while she found out she is pregnant. He takes care of the label and writes a song for her, the band performs, he sings the song to her and they reunite have a little girl. Such a wonderful story!

This one was ok. I couldn't get into it for some reason. I skimmed through the second half of the book, after the wedding. The reunion after the big break-up was sweet. One little thing that is totally a personall issue haha... If the main characters looks were ever described, I missed it. I am used to authors mentioning the characters eye color and features ya know? Caleb's eyes were 'dark' but that's about it.
I had thought I needed a break from all the sports theme books I've devoured recently. But nah... going to find one of those that are in my huge tbr right away.

Expected and More

I was so excited to read this book just based on the synopsis, and it exceeded my expectations! I love a book when he falls first, and boy does Caleb fall first. I really didn't want the book to end. I do think that so much time and detail led up to the wedding and honeymoon, but once that was over, things slowed down details wise, but time jumped around. I wish that the book had the same flow throughout. That doesn't make me love it any less, though.
I will definitely be looking at other books by this author.

This book has it all, cocky tattooed rockstar (with a secret gooey centre) good looking and infuriating at times.
Alexa is smart, sassy and relatable.
The heat between them is amazing and the story kept me engaged and enjoying this book a lot.
Their fake marriage is a deal they both need but when that turns into want things start to feel all too real.
The baby a bonus and the HEA an absolute blessing.
This book had it all and I can’t wait to read more from Ellen.

I'm on the fence. It started sweet with lots of kissing, but the timeline was hazy at best, and other times didn't make sense at all. Like you couldn't tell if it was day or night or how many hours/ days had passed. Then there were the things that were just too dramatic. Like after the first kiss, she was all 'was it ever really real'? There was also a lot of repetition and a lack of character development. I didn't feel like I got to know the characters.

I almost DNFd multiple times 🫠 FMC was annoying and dramatic. This is a short book so it’s expected to be a bit insta-lovey but it still seemed like they were strangers one minute and obsessed with each other the next.

HATED the third act breakup as well, miscommunication needs to be a trigger warning

-rockstar romance
-virgin FMC
-marriage or convenience
-surprise pregnancy
-he falls first
-miscommunication

cute, but just okay

This story is cute. Both main characters are likable. But it’s very rushed at the beginning and feels very surface-level. There are a few typos (for some reason, the word “scene” is spelled wrong every time). I think there should’ve been more time or relationship building at the beginning, and it would’ve made the entire book better! It’s a short and quick read.

This definitely gave a different spin on a smart, nerdy girl falling for a famous rockstar, which I thought was overall well done. Some parts of the story could feel kind of out-there, but still believable. I did overall enjoy the book and the story behind the two main characters.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Rockstar is a favorite storyline for me but there was just something awkward about this.....loved the characters but it just felt way too rushed. I know there was a visa deadline and the devirgination was just ho hum and felt just blah. Having read another book by this author I know she can do better.
I have downloaded the 3rd book in this series hoping for better.

Raman at midnight

I did enjoy this book, it held a some really great storylines. The one thing I disliked was the fallout (you will know what I mean if you read the book) was kind of glossed over with just a couple of lines. It would have been a really great chapter at the very least if written out in my opinion. Definitely a good read though!

He Lied, Controlled And Infantilised Her Right Up To The End. He Wants Fame But Seems To Pretend To Hate Fame, I'm So Confused

Dawww the way Pick Mes think these rock stars are that deep.

People who get comfortable expressing themselves rarely have this level of performative self awareness.

I dunno, I wanted Ego Death, I got a toddler hunt.

This book was an absolute delight to read. I loved how the story balanced humour, passion and emotional depth. Making the connection between the geeky heroine and the cocky rockstar feels both electric and heartfelt. Ellen Youngs’s writing was well written. This book was an entertaining escape.

Not worth reading

The characters in this book were overwhelmingly insecure and immature. The book was about 15 chapters too long she could have summed it up much quicker. There were some grammatical and editing errors. Do not recommend.

2.5 rounded up

This author's books seem like a rewrite of each other

This one isn't as good as the first rockstar one I read, but is way better than the awkward billionaire silver haired boss one I skimmed

Yeah!

I hate giving reviews; either I enjoyed the story/author 's viewpoint or I didn't. I did skip through parts of Ellen Young's Marrying My Billionaire Rockstar - - not in the mood - not author's or editing issue. Still gave it 5 stars for the " moral compass" view.
