With more than 30 million books sold, the My Weird School series really gets kids reading!
In the second book in the laugh-out-loud My Weirdest School series, the students of Ella Mentry School are about to get a wonderful gift—a million dollars! A.J. and the gang vote to create an in-school, state-of-the-art TV station so the morning announcements can be broadcast to all the classes. There's even enough money to hire Ms. Cuddy, a new digital media arts teacher who knows a thing or two about broadcasting. But soon Ms. Cuddy decides the ratings on the announcements are too low, and the show needs to "get more eyeballs." How long will the camera keep rolling?
Perfect for reluctant readers and word lovers alike, Dan Gutman's hugely popular My Weird School series has something for everyone. Don’t miss any of the hilarious adventures of A.J. and the gang—from Weird, to Weirder, to Weirder-est!
This chapter book is an excellent choice to share with children ages 6 to 10 who are ready to read independently. It’s a fun way to keep your child engaged and as a supplement for activity books for children.
The author of over 80 books in a little over a decade of writing, Dan Gutman has written on topics from computers to baseball. Beginning his freelance career as a nonfiction author dealing mostly with sports for adults and young readers, Gutman has concentrated on juvenile fiction since 1995. His most popular titles include the time-travel sports book Honus and Me and its sequels, and a clutch of baseball books, including The Green Monster from Left Field. From hopeful and very youthful presidential candidates to stunt men, nothing is off limits in Gutman's fertile imagination. As he noted on his author Web site, since writing his first novel, They Came from Centerfield, in 1994, he has been hooked on fiction. "It was fun to write, kids loved it, and I discovered how incredibly rewarding it is to take a blank page and turn it into a WORLD."
Gutman was born in New York City in 1955, but moved to Newark, New Jersey the following year and spent his youth there.
I personally think Dan Gutman should should... stop with the My Weird School books. Sorry... He's officially out of ideas. I LOVED My Weird School: #1-21 Box Set and My Weird School Daze: #1-12 Box Set ; even a SELECT FEW of the My Weirder School 10 Pack Box Set were good and funny, so I guess this is kind of disappointing. But I didn't expect any better. You can only milk one series for so many years...
Great news elementry school just got a million dollars ! that's a lot Of money but AJ and the gang know now to spend it their going to make a brand new tv station for the morning announcement but there is other school to and they want to see who is watiching more of which announcement is beaing seen there is afunny part so Read the book .
My kid loved it so much we rented them from the library so much she can’t wait until a new book comes in,sometimes I start to read these amazing but funny books
A friend chose it for me. It was nice to reread this kids series being way older because the corny humor hit. A tad too repetitive on the jokes at some parts.
Book Review: AJ and his gang are back again in this fun book for kids. Their school Ella Mentry School received a million dollars gift from Mrs. Mentry who used to teach at the school years ago. Now they have to come up with a contest to decide what to do with the money. Some students wanted to spend the money on pizzas, ice cream, candy, racing cars, football team, a skate park or flat-screen TVs. But their teacher Mr. Cooper had a better ideal.
Perfect for reluctant readers. Dan Gutman’s hugely popular My Weird School series has something for everyone. Don’t miss the hilarious adventures of A.J. and the gang. The illustrations by Jim Paillot helps to makes the story even more hilarious. I highly recommend this book.
FTC Disclosure: I received a review copy of this book from HarperCollins in exchange for a fair and honest review. I was not monetarily compensated for my opinion in any way.
Dan Gutman understands young reader’s humor and has created a fantastic book formula to draw in even the most reluctant of readers. The My Weird School series is perfect for students to practice their reading skills with its repetitive yet hysterical narrative and story lines. But don’t mention that part to your kiddos, they might run away in fear they could learn something! A must have collection for any grade school library or classroom!
In this edition the school’s name sake Ms. Ella Mentry has made a generous donation of one million dollars to Ella Mentry School; but how to spend it? Pizza palooza? Infinite ice cream and scores of sweets? Donate the money to a school that doesn’t have a million dollars?? The possibilities are endless and making a decision is challenging but someone has to do something!
My favorite character in the book is Ms. Cuddy. She is a crazy teacher that came to make a TV studio. She is hired to help with the morning announcements. She wants her schools ratings to go up to pass Dirk school. She tries to make the kids do everything she wants them to do but it doesn't go up it keeps going down. THe anchors on the announcements are A.j and Andrea. The rest of the kids are helping out with the morning announcements like lighting and makeup. The kids think that Ms. Cuddy is nutty. The genre of the book is a fiction book. This is a series of books called My Weirdest School and this is book two of four. I think that Dan Gutman is a brilliant written. It took me two weeks to read the great book. It is recommended for kids that like to be entertained. The moral of the story is that you should never give up. The kids try everything to get their ratings up.
