The arrival of the Founding Festival brings with it splendid decorations, delicious delicacies, and a bevy of competitions. Contests that Wanda and Wumble’s newly joined team hope will offer a chance to test their skills, while also earning some spare coin.
Unfortunately, more than just good tidings have come to town.
The unexpected eruption of a chasm vent floods the area with occorites, sending Kalamaz into utter chaos. Every wizard will be pressed to defend themselves and their town if they hope to see another sunrise.
Especially a still freshly certified alchemist and her loyal hound.
This brand new Fantasy Series from bestseller Drew Hayescontinues with Book 4!
Roverpowered features a lovable pair of heroes out on their first adventure, learning about both magic and life in a progression fantasy suitable for all ages!
Each word tells the story, some hinting at the mistaken logic leading Wanda to think her efforts as nothing unusual. Her Team continues to grow, and her pup continues to herd her forward, calming her down on the midst of each crisis. Some story arcs started are satisfactorily concluded, and seeds of the dangers for her tomorrows spread. It all flows well, making tomorrows next chapter sound exciting.
The story is completely improbable. And so full of warm heart that you can’t put it down. The main character is wildly OP , but they don’t know it, and their Support character works to make things just…. Work. This book should be sappy, ridiculous, implausible, silly. Instead, it’s heartwarming, fun, joyful, and just a bright rear of sunshine in book form . These books are way too short , but when I finish reading them, my face hurts from smiling. The ridiculous jokes, the stupid one liners, the gloriously, wholesome humor. It’s the book you didn’t know you needed.
TLDR; start at the beginning, read the whole series. If things seem slow down for a bit just push through there will be a payoff. Read the book .
Soooooooo! Cute! These novellas are the perfect 🥰 read, anytime! I love Wanda and Wumble her Familiar! In this story there's a challenge as the Apprentice Alchemists compete on making the perfect healing potion, while using the same recipe. But wouldn't you know it there's a chasm vent eruption causing chaos as occorites form. With the challenge interrupted Wanda and Wumble get busy! First fighting and then making potions. And wow do they get down and make potions! So grab this quick read and watch Wanda and Wumble as they coordinate blending their magics together! For an outcome beyond belief!
I had been waiting impatiently for this book, read it entirely instead of sleeping and now have to wait even more impatiently for book 5. This may be geared toward young adults but it is an amusing read and a welcome glimpse into a surprisingly talented young alchemist and her incredible familiar.
This is a great addition to the Roverpowered series where we can see the strengths of all of the team come together when everything goes wrong. Wanda and Wumble are so innocent yet growing all the time. Wanda has really started to find her confidence and in this one finds a unique way to help despite her past and anxieties. I loved this and kept getting annoyed whenever any distractions took me away from the story. It is fast paced with high stakes yet a good balance of alchemy and fighting. This is a really special pair who are earnest yet naive at the same time.
Drew Hayes continues his humorous fantasy series about the alchemist Wanda and her familiar Wumbles. This time Wanda is competing in an Apprentice Alchemist competition when the city experiences a magical eruption that unleashes an army of magical creatures on the city.
Wanda runs to the Alchemist guildhouse to help make healing potions. As usual, she misses the correct destination and goes to an unused storeroom at the top of the building. There, she is free to unleash her full, but unrecognized, power.
If you read any of Roverpowered books, you'll enjoy this one!
Reading this book is like playing with a swarm of hyper joyful puppies. Lots happening all at once and each event it’s own little burst of pleasure. It’s an unfortunately fast read … would be nice if it had lasted longer … but otherwise a perfect distraction from everyday woes.
I can't wait to see the next way drew will find to conceal the power wanda just assumes is normal. Drew does such a great job dragging out the catharsis. I like how every oddity that should really clue her in just ends up giving her a stronger armor of anonymity.
These books are not very long but they are very well written and complete. I always look forward to the release of another and was once again very pleased! Hope the author keeps the great work coming.
Roverpowered is consistently fun, and I am glad to see that trend continue. Wanda is adorably naive, Wumble is cutely overpowered, and the setting is remarkably well crafted for medieval fantasy adventures. Recommended.
Still pretty cute Let me repeat that these are very short. Each of these books are individually shorter than a single short story from Villain's Vignettes. although it is interesting to see Drew Hayes get to the point. -A nice change here is that the MC's neurodivergent condition that was made so much of in previous books is finally becoming less of a plot crutch. Drew had really over done it before. Yes, we get the point that it sucks to have social anxiety and spiraling intrusive thoughts. At long last the MC is working through the difficulty and the story is moving on. Thank God.
Drew Hayes is a master story teller. Having loved his SuperPowereds series, Fred the Vampire Accountant, and Spells, Swords and Stealth series (All good reads btw), I knew this series would be good. Drew can be as foul mouthed and juvenile in his writing as a 15 year old boy but then he creates a Youth oriented series like this which leaves his other work far behind. Book 4 is one of the absolute best stories I've EVER read. Each book is contained and brings an amazing conclusion yet still leaves the reader BEGGING For more. This series is one for all ages, and a saga for the ages.
Another enjoyable chapter in this continuing story. I might well have commented on earlier chapters that I thought there is a somewhat unbelievable lack of recognition of her abilities by the main protagonist, but I'm feeling better about how this is winding into the continuing story. I'll keep reading as new ones come along to see if the patience is rewarded.
Cute, cozy little read. I really enjoy this series, except for all the comma splices. I don't think I've ever read another author with so many. It does make some of it difficult to read, honestly. Even so, four stars, and I'll be waiting on the next book.
Wanda as a character is becoming more and more annoying as the series goes on, I understand the premise but its becoming apparent the character was made far to ignorant to reality for this to be a viable continued reading experience.
Fun for all ages, a book I can recommend and let my 6th grader read! Wanda and Wumble face a new challenge in their progression, will it be their end or will they save the day? You'll have to read the book to find out!
This reads as a fun cozy. Wanda and her little dog Wumble are learning alchemy. They are set to have a fair day when things go horribly wrong. I absolutely love this book and I will definitely read the next one in the series.
More Wanda. And more Wumble. Please. The books in this series are fairly short and introduce new lines of thinking that make me want to come back for more. What is happening with Wanda!s abilities? And just how strong is Wumble?
The continuation of a cute little tale about a cute little OP dog and cute little wizard, who is oblivious to her own power and especially that of her cute little dog
Dew Hayes never disappoints. Wonderfully crafted story that pulls you in from the start and won’t let you go. My only complaint is it ended too soon. Can’t wait for the next installment.
I read all four books and horror of horror got to the end and found that book 5 was not yet done!! my plea to the author is to please get it finished soon because you have me completely wrapped up in the story and now I am bereft.
