Then the web-slinging fun continues with everyone's favorite heroes from Marvel's Spidey and His Amazing Friends! There's no shortage of baddies creating mischief in New York and Spidey, Ghost-Spider, and Spin need help keeping the city safe through thrilling activity pages and easy-to-read stories.
This is a good basic comic for kids. Full of fun, action, and innovative solutions, but without any triggers comics for older readers can contain. Young Iron Man teams up with Iron Hulk (Amadeus Cho, who had had a LOT of codenames over the years) and Ironheart (Riri Williams, who is way better in this than her eponymous comic line). Together, they team up with a new furry friend to defeat Ultron, whose lines are so funny they remind me of the classic Superhero Squad adventures. As a bonus, there are two mini Spidey adventures after the main feature! And yes, true believers, this is a really cute, really safe superhero world where most of the villains are now girls for some reason. And a Hulk slap can redirect lasers. It may be tempting to launch into a history lesson about Riri's backstory or how Amadeus used to be Iron Spider. But if you take it as what it is, a cute kids' version seperate from the gritty mainstream comics, it can be a whole lot of fun to read together. Just be sure to add some extra maniacal laughter when you read Ultron's lines!
I downloaded this one because kiddo loves the Spidey show. These stories are pretty much on par for quality with their shows - or I assume so, since I haven't watched the Iron Man one yet. Kiddo particularly liked the giant popcorn story. Nothing amazing here, but it will hit the spot with the intended audience.
