A cozy magical story of sisterhood ✨

This was really fun and cute, while also navigating deeper themes like grief and found family.
The story centers on two sisters with magical abilities and opposite personalities. Ever since losing their mother a year ago, the rift between them has only deepened, but they're so hung up on their differences that they don’t see how similar they actually are.
They care and worry about the same things but they manifest it in different ways, and so each of them assumes the other one doesn’t care.

I enjoyed the way the characters grew and learned to see their own flaws. Although the romance sub plot competed a bit with the main story of the two sisters, it was really sweet and reminded me of the slow burn of older tv shows.

I loved the setting, a Gilmore Girls-esque small town with a picturesque and chaotic cast of side characters. The story goes into many tangents but everything adds to the cute small town flavor.

Overall I enjoyed this book very much! I listened to the audio version and the two narrators did an excellent job, I particularly recommend the audiobook ☺️💕

This was a very cozy witchy read.

The focus is on two sisters who are very different people. Effie is very bookish, Bonnie a lot more outgoing. Very different sisters, but both witches. Living in small town makes it hard for them to avoid each other like they want to, and when their estranged Uncle turns up and pulls Bonnie into a magical scheme disguised as something helpful.

I enjoyed this a lot. I loved the complete differences in the sisters, and the development of their relationship through the book. I liked the premise of the story, but did feel it was a little slow at times, like there were some parts that just kept the story going but weren't required for the overall storyline. I would definitely class this as a cozy book with fantasy elements, with the smallest touch of a romance element.
I listened to the audiobook and thought the narrators did a great job.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes cozy reads (I keep saying cozy, but it really fits the bill) and especially those who don't like much of a focus on romance.

Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan for the audiobook arc in exchange for an honest review.

I’ll admit, I first picked this up because the sprayed edition at The Works looked so cute, and after my surgery, I wanted something light and easy to read. I didn’t get to read Two’s A Cham as quickly as I’d have liked because life was a little chaotic as per usual but one afternoon whilst curled up under a blanket, I was off into the world of sisters, Effie and Bonnie.

I found in refreshing that both sisters are quite obnoxious and are flawed in their own way so neither of them are particularly the heroine of the story, and the tend to knock heads when it comes to their life because like a lot of siblings (I base this on my own children at various points as I’m an only child) they bicker constantly over the smallest things and are very different in the way they live their lives. The two are like light and dark, Effie is bookish, and Bonnie is very outgoing and unashamedly unapologetic over how she does things. Like another pair of extremely famous witches whose story hits the singer screen soon, who are very different and set in their ways? The sisters do have room to grow as the story unfolds.

I really liked how the main focal point of Two’s A Charm is the sisters and their journey of anger to acceptance, but the two sisters also have their own stories going on and this is where I found myself a little disappointed in the character development of the men in their lives. Effie who hasn’t had time for romance finds herself drawn to Theo but personally seemed like he could have easily been replaced by a cardboard character because there’s nothing about him except, he likes poetry and seems to always be where Effie is. I found myself wishing she’d just step out of her shell for herself and not a boy if I’m honest.

Bonnie’s story seemed to be thought out more and made me a little more invested in the story because I believed that a lot of her personality was a defence mechanism and that a lot of her anger towards her sister is misplaced. She’s far from a nice person and uses pretty much everyone around her, including Bobby who is infatuated with her. She’s got a point to prove, to herself and her family and I could easily see how she could be taken advantage of. Once again, I think Bonnie’s story could have benefited from some more depth and fleshing out to keep you invested in her life.

I did like that this was mainly focused on their journey and although again I think it could have been a bigger part of the story, their grief at the loss of their mother. They’re magical and I did love how differently the two used their craft to suit their lives but given that they’re witches and the magic is a large part of the story, I would have liked to see it more and perhaps the how and why explained more. This is a cute story, and I am glad I got it for that cold day when I needed a little escapism I just wish it had a little bit more to keep me fully invested, but if you want a swift cute book for spooky season -- Two’s A Charm is great for that kind of Wicked witchy feel.

What a treat! After reading horrors, thrillers, dark academia, and etc... for months, thus book was a much needed breath of fresh air, or I would even call it magical breath of air.
It was an incredibly cosy and heartwarming read. Featuring a small town settings, sisterhood, a hit of magic, and a delightful 'he is sunshine and she is grumpy librarian' vibe, this book was absolutely perfect.
If you like me and craving (specially this time of year) a soft blanket, a hot beverage and your favourite reading chair, you are sure to enjoy this book.
I absolutely loved it!

Recommend-O-Meter: Good for a quick and fun read, though not as witchy as I’d hoped

The first thing to note is that I wouldn’t really label this as a hard romance. Like, sure there’s romance involved, but it’s very much not the focus of the book. Nothing wrong with that of course, but just a heads up!

Effie and Bonnie are rivals/sisters with magical gifts, though I’ll say this is more of a casual-book-that-happens-to-have-a-little-bit-of-magic situation rather than a full fledged fantasy. Think petty sibling fights with a little bit of the supernatural—Effie spelling the air more humid in order to ruin Bonnie’s hairdo, and the like.

None of the magic is really explained, though, save for that it was genetic and apparently only inherited on the women’s side of the family. Kinda a bummer for me, because I love magical worlds and wish this one had a bit more oomph to it. And aside from that, my biggest issue though is how high-school-clique-ish all the characters felt, even though they were supposedly well into their twenties.

Still, I enjoyed the book. I really like looking into family dynamics, so having a big focus on the sisters’ relationship (or lack thereof) was a plus for me. The calm unhurriedness of the story’s pacing was also good; after having read a couple of darker titles, this one was a nice little break from heaviness and complicated plot lines. It was like reading one of those old Disney live-action movies in book form, cliches galore and all.

Shoutout to all the Wizard of Oz references! Those bits were super fun to spot.

Audio Assessment: I don’t often read audibooks with dual narrators, but I think it was a good choice here considering the switching perspectives in each chapter. The voices were similar enough that it didn’t seem jarring, yet different enough to feel distinct, and both worked really well with the material in my opinion.

Sisters Effie and Bonnie are opposites in every witchy way. Effie is calm, reserved and loves nothing more than burying her head in a book, and struggles a bit with things like self-worth and belief. Meanwhile, Bonnie is as dazzling as a diamond, poised and popular in all she does. Though, Bonnie sometimes does struggle with a bit of feeling inadequate in her magic being at the same level as Effie’s, and so when she is roped into a magical conspiracy by their estranged and reckless Uncle Oswald, her power is truly put to the test. She doesn’t want to ask Effie for help—determined to demonstrate her worth—yet behind his plan lays something truly wicked.

Effie doesn’t often step out of her comfort zone, happiest when she is around the simple things she loves and has a hold on, her magic, her books, and things that appease her introverted ways (that, we have in common tenfold.) But when she senses something peculiar spreading across Yellowbrick Grove, she doesn’t think that Bonnie will be at the heart of the darkness taking over town, wrapped in a plot she has no control over. She knows she has to step out of her place of safety for the sake of Bonnie, who’s magic is being tainted. The sisters are pulled together into something that unravels their suppressed grief, pushes them to confront their differences and reconnect their way through something as a team once and for all.

Overall, Two’s A Charm was quaintly cosy, bursting with feel-good sentiments and is entirely wonderfully witchy from start to finish. I adored Effie and Bonnie, more so Effie at the beginning but leant more toward Bonnie as the book went on. The atmosphere of the book was very reminiscent of things I have long adored—Wicked, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and The Wizard of Oz. I loved the reflections of Glinda and Elphaba in Effie and Bonnie, and also how much that cosy feel of the book reminded me of Stars Hollow in Gilmore Girls. It bends more so into contemporary fantasy than romance, but there were still some romantic sparkles throughout. I left the book feeling like I’d read something wholesomely magical, setting Halloween week off in the most charmed way that made my heart feel full. An amazing story that I simply loved.

Autumnal vibes and magical mishaps abound in this cosy (and witchy) small town Romantasy that I couldn’t get enough of!

Firstly I absolutely loved Heather Spellman’s prose which was warm, whimsical and brimming with humour. The small town setting (called Yellowbrick Grove, a little nod to Wicked and Wizard of Oz) was lovely too, and added to the cosy, nostalgic Gilmore Girls meets Sabrina The Teenage Witch vibes. (Along with the romance involving town newcomer, Theo, which was soo adorable.)

But it was our Elphaba and Glinda-coded protagonists, sisters Effie and Bonnie, that really made this a standout read for me.

Differing in their personalities and approaches to life (Effie bookish and practical, Bonnie spontaneous and outgoing) we really delve into the complex and often contradictory bonds of sisterhood, which I really enjoyed. As the youngest of three sisters myself, I found their dynamics soo relatable.

Though, I did find Effie the easiest sister to connect with. Living in the shadow of her popular sister, she really struggles with her self worth. And, with the grief of losing her mother, (and her constant need for control) her reactions really brought a sense of depth that had me even more invested.

But I liked Bonnie too, and felt she underwent the biggest and most satisfying transformation; being more self reliant, confident (in taking on more responsibility) and realising how her actions affect others.

Of course (in typical witchy Rom-com fashion) it takes some serious magical misfires to get Effie and Bonnie to finally communicate. But once they do, (acknowledging feelings and reconciling differences) they make such an amazing team!

Overall, a heartwarming read exploring grief, friendship, sisterhood and love that fans of Sarah Hawley, Lucy Jane Wood or Erin Stirling should consider checking out.

Also, thanks to Bookbreak/ Pan MacMillan for the proof.

Two's a charm
⭐⭐⭐ (3/5)
A nice cozy witchy read.
I enjoyed it though most of the times I was frustrated with Bonnie and then Effie top later...but thankfully they settled their differences and came together! It's more of the story of two sisters with a dash of romance for both of them, I was totally rooting for Theo and Effie and Tessa too!
Loved when they found the cats in the library!
But some of the parts and interactions did feel very highschooley, And I wished the talk of settling their disagreements would've been more through.
But despite it all, I enjoyed it!

Thanks Netgalley and publisher for providing me an ALC of this book!

Thank you to Anne from Random Things Tours for having me on the the Blog Tour.

The Chalmer Sisters are witches but they couldn’t be more different. Bookish introvert Effie would rather curl up with a good book and is the complete opposite to popular Bonnie who exudes confidence and is popular with everyone in town.

Bonnie is eager to prove her magic is just as good as Effie’s and decides to collaborate with her Uncle Oswald in a magical scheme to help the town and their businesses. But things don’t go as planned and soon Bonnie is out of her depth. But will her pride win over her asking her judgemental sister for help.

Overall this was a good read. It’s not as witchy filled as I thought it would be. It centres more on grief and familial issues. Effie is a hard character to like but you eventually understand why she is so prickly.

The townsfolk are all quirky and fun to read about and this definitely has the small town vibes we all love to read about.

The audiobook was an absolute pleasure to listen to! The story is simply perfect for a rainy day—when all you want is a cozy blanket and a warm cup of tea. As someone with a sister, I found many of the situations both relatable and emotionally authentic. It’s a wonderful fantasy to unwind with after a long, hard day.

Of course, there are also touches of romance, which I happily would have taken even more of—they were all so sweet! The narrators truly stole my heart; their performances were engaging, expressive, and never monotonous. Definitely recommending!

Two’s a Charm is a cosy and magical read about two very different witchy sisters learning to work together. I loved the blend of family drama, small-town charm, and gentle humour throughout. Effie and Bonnie’s relationship felt real — full of rivalry, warmth, and heart. The story balances emotion and whimsy beautifully, making it a perfect comfort read for fantasy fans who enjoy stories about sisterhood and second chances.

TWO'S A CHARM is definitely a cozy book, I'll say that. I love cozy. I don't need action or intense tension. But the pace is so slow and the characters are too flat for me to stay invested in the story.
The writing is fine and the narrators are wonderful--you won't ever catch me say a single bad word about Kristen DiMercurio--and they certainly foster the cozy atmosphere. But unfortunately, there just isn't enough happening!
The synopsis promises "Within a day, Bonnie’s spells start misfiring and Effie notices something sinister taking root" - um... when exactly? I gave up on this book half-way through and yes, spells misfire, but they always do that for Bonnie, even before the story starts. It's her whole thing.
Also, who allowed so many B names in the cast? Bonnie, Bobbie, Bowow, and more.

TL;DR: Nice premise, perhaps the book is just too bloated for it the plot to take off in time

Two's A Charm is a story about two sisters who are dealing not only with their mother's passing, but years of unspoken frustrations about one another. So what happens when one gets in over their head and is too stubborn and afraid to share their struggles? Absolute chaos...

I was excited by the promise of a new witchy book with a dose of romance as well as sisterhood themes, but unfortunately I found this very slow. It's full of miscommunication and passive aggressive silence that leads to lack of understanding which is okay for the beginning of a story, but that's the entire narrative. It felt repetitive and I just kept waiting for something new to happen to push the conflict and plot forward.

The romance is sudden and not super developed, though I did appreciate the librarian vibes from Effie and the quick comebacks she has for Theo. It did feel like her personality only was shown during their interactions though, and any other time it's her POV she's harsh and withdrawn. She had a lot of potential, as she's clearly feeling left out and low in self confidence, but this is never shown to us - just told over and over again. Bonnie felt more rounded as a character and so it was a bit easier to connect with her.

The townspeople have a lot of charm, and this was easily the best part of the book for me. I loved the quirky characteristics for each - the dog lover, the lawn obsessed, the darts crew... It was such fun to read about them!

The ending was very quick and left a lot of (fairly problematic) issues unresolved/unexplained, but I did like how everyone comes together. However, even by the end I was left questioning the magic of this world. Are there other witches? It seems so by the stack of magical items in Effie's basement room, but maybe not? There were just a lot of gaps in the story that I wish were filled...

I received this audiobook for free from Netgalley & Macmillan.

First off, this should not be marketed as a romance, this was a story about 2 sisters who were also witches. The romance was in the background, and it helped one of the sisters out.

I'm gonna be frank with you, Bonnie was doing my head in so much in this book! I was ready to smack some sense into her from the very first chapter. Then really wanted to smack her again in the second chapter (her first POV chapter). This was genuinely my first note: "Bonnie is pissing me off!". Followed by "Madam, he doesn't like you! Move on!" Then it took her way too long to figure out the consequences of her actions. It didn't help with how long it took her to admit it. I was not a fan of her chapters, but I had to give it to the author and narrator for making me want to deck her. She took way too long to get there, but... I can't believe I'm writing this... when she explained herself (and from bits here and there), I got it. I understood. **sighs** **grumbles** I still wanna smack her a bit. **grumbles**

As much as I liked Effie, she was in her head too much and just needed a push in the right direction. Although, I understood where she was coming from, I could definitely relate to her. By the end of the book, as expected both sisters learnt from their mistakes and actually grew closer together.

On to the narrators, Georgina Sadler and Kristen DiMercurio, they delivered, emoted properly and had distinct voices. I don't know how I hadn't noticed there were 2 different narrators until this very moment writing this paragraph. I guess that's a testament to both of them, since I've been played by a few audiobooks with dual narrators.

At the end of the day, it was nice seeing the sisters finally work things out at the end.

If you're looking for a cozy, magical escape with a touch of family drama, "Two's a Charm" might just be the audiobook you need! Heather Spellman weaves a fun, lighthearted story about two sisters, Effie and Bonnie, who couldn't be more different and yet, they're forced to team up when their uncle’s spellcasting schemes turn everything upside down.

I really loved how the dynamic between the two sisters felt so real. Effie is the quiet, bookish type who’d rather keep her nose in a spellbook than deal with family drama, while Bonnie’s the wild one, always getting into trouble. Their banter and the way they learn to work together was both funny and heartwarming. It reminded me a bit of those “opposites attract” sibling bonds, which always pull at my heartstrings.

The narrators, Georgina Sadler and Kristen DiMercurio, did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life. Each sister had such a distinct voice, and the dual narration really made the emotional moments hit harder. I could picture Effie’s cautious nature and Bonnie’s impulsive energy perfectly, thanks to the narrators' performances.

The magic system isn’t the most complex, but I didn’t mind that it’s more about the characters and their relationships, with a touch of quirky spells thrown in. The small-town setting really added to the charm, and I loved the lighthearted tone, even when things started getting a little tense with the family secrets and magical mishaps.

It wasn’t the most groundbreaking fantasy, but it was exactly what I needed something fun, cozy, and just a little bit magical. If you’re a fan of books with witchy vibes and sibling dynamics, this one is definitely worth checking out. Plus, the narrators make it such an enjoyable experience, I didn’t want it to end!

I enjoyed (mostly) listening to this audiobook. Did I get frustrated at Bonnie for some of her poor choices and not really thinking through it all before doing something she knew was a bit shady, since it was Oswald it brought it up to her? Yes, yes I did. Though if I thought of the sisters as in their early twenties, then a bit could be forgiven and I understood more of why Bonnie acted the way she did. Plus, some of her magical messes were quite funny. It balanced Effie (though I definitely liked her better and understood her way of living) who was more mature, though a bit oblivious to romance, and I would love to work in the library with her! This story was a nice slice of life in a small town with real magic and witches helping things along, sometimes sneakily, and sometimes saving the day (after causing the catastrophe in the first place! lol) and figuring out how to keep going after their mother's death and work together as sisters instead of clashing and hiding hex bags in each other's possessions.

Lighthearted, humorous, with a good message of working together, not taking the easy way to make money (Oswald is awful!), seeing the love in front of your nose, and the importance of memories of loved ones, plus a ghost in the library, hexed hair straighteners, and dog wrangling! Not quite perfect but an enjoyable book to listen to. The narrators, Georgina Sadler and Kristen DiMercurio, did a great job in bringing the sisters and their town of Yellowbrick Grove to life. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me a chance to laugh and enjoy my way through this audiobook.

I explicitly picked this book up because I thought I was going to hate it and I was so painfully correct. This book is just the definition of a book that exploits the common sales pitch line (i.e. Wicked meets Gilmore Girls) for the sake of upping sales and not for the sake of telling an actually compelling or engaging story. It attempts to do what it says on the tin, but lacks any understanding of the original characters and so therefore strips them down bare to their core archetypes, adding absolutely nothing else of substance. Moreover, it strips down the complex relationship between Glinda and Elphaba - or Bonnie and Effie whatever - to a sisterhood in which the only feeling is unadulterated loathing and nothing else. I’m just infuriated by the lack of effort and the brazen audacity to just lift things from the source material for the sake of a zombie-fied approximation that feels starkly like fan fiction. To be clear, I respect fan fiction and I even respect fan fiction that makes its way into the trad market after some creative retooling for the sake of copyright. These stories can sometimes be impressive for what they are and have enough substance to sustain themselves. But this is just creative media cannibalism, a hastily drawn copy with some taped on modifications rather than a story that dares to say “Yes and …”. I know I chose to read this, but for the fact these sort of formulaic cash grabs on pop culture are increasingly a thing, especially in the romance genre, I have to say I have zero regrets.

This is such a cosy, bingeable read. The writing is easy to understand, with brilliant descriptors. I actually feel like I'm also living that smalltown life. I love the references to wizard of Oz and the names of businesses are just so clever.

The sisterhood rivalry annoyed me. As a Mum of two girls I wanted to bash their heads together. They should communicate and build each other up. Not make each others lives sad. The miscommunication and assumption trope always irks me. (But the book would be a lot shorter if they did just talk to each other) that being said, I loved their extreme oppositeness to each other, but had the same wants in mind of bringing people together and community.

I thoroughly enjoyed the villain of the story. Although it was sad it was family related. I guess it really does show that if unhealthy jealousy between siblings isn't put to rest it can really get out of hand. (I'm an only child, so I wouldn't know)

The tag "wicked meets gilmore girls" is definitely apt!

A tale of two sisters, magic and dash of romance. Effie and Bonnie are complete opposites and hardly best friends, who, despite their small town, avoid each other as much as possible.

I enjoyed the setting of this and how, despite the sisters being so different, they were both very easy to connect with as characters. The story of their relationship went as I’d hoped, with a good ending and resolution. I also enjoyed the chapters each having a clever title and how the elements of magic were used in the tale.

The audiobook performance from both Georgina Sadler and Kristen DiMercurio really helped distinguish the two, with clear, alternating narratives and well conveyed emotions and perspectives for our main characters. They also mimicked each other well, and had good voices for the other characters in their chapters. Overall, an enjoyable and immersive experience.

The plot itself was tricky for me to connect with, as I lost my way at times with the overall motives of our antagonist amongst the girls’ own adventures within the story. Still, this was a fun contemporary and the relationship of the two sisters was worth the journey.

Many thanks to NetGalley, Macmillan, and the author for the ALC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Going by the name, this was truly a cosy, charming book about 2 magical sisters – as in literally! It was a rollercoaster in the best way possible with loads of LOL moments.

Effie and Bonnie are 2 sisters living together, and they are opposites in every way possible. Effie is a rule follower, planner, bookworm, introverted, and responsible and seems to be the invisible sister, while Bonnie is the vibrant, impulsive, charming one with queen bee energy getting into all kinds of trouble. They live together but don't align or are different in any way possible and are at odds all the time. Their relationship was written so realistically; we all know at least a pair of sisters like that. They are both grieving the loss of their mother in their little quirky town where everyone knows everyone.

The story is hilarious yet has layers of sisterhood, friendship, love, respect and grief and is also about building communities and creating your own little beautiful world. The magic system is really simple and does not really take much space, yet it somehow swirls around everything. I love how the magic was perceived as light and colour. There was an underlying sentiment of belonging which brought all the plotlines together. The narrators were perfect for the 2 characters and added to the charm.

If you are looking for a cosy, feel-good magical story about sisterhood with some romance and friendship on the side, this is the book for you.

This was such a cute, witchy book following two sisters that don’t exactly see eye to eye, and how they come together to tackle a series of magical mishaps.

I appreciated all the nods and references to Wicked and The Wizard Of Oz. I haven’t seen anyone mention that in any reviews as of yet, but if you’re a big fan of the Wicked book, stage show or movie then I think you’ll really like those Easter eggs.

There was a romantic subplot, but it wasn’t the main focus of the book. I did enjoy this storyline though and thought it was very cute. I almost wish we got a bit more of it.

The sisters at times were absolutely infuriating, which I understand is kind of the point, but gosh did they grind my gears 😂

This felt like quite a long read to me, and some moments felt a little too dragged out for my liking. But it was easy to get through and I really did like the dynamic between the characters.

If you’re after an easy read, something whimsical and low-stakes with sibling rivalry, I’d recommend giving this a go.

Thank you Pan MacMillan and Book Break UK for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A cosy and sassy story of two witchy sisters who learn to get along again despite their differences.

Ok seriously I need 10 more books like this one. Because it was so refreshing to read about Effie and Bonnie, their journey’s with grief, their chosen careers and their romance subplots. Yes they were at loggerheads for most of the book but I loved their differing perspectives on life and their eventual acceptance of each other. Each had their strengths and a boldness about them. They also traded such witty insults. More stories about magical sisters required!

The hijinks around the sister’s lil hometown of Yellowbrick Grove were so entertaining (some of magical origin) and all of their friends & residents of the town added their own pizazz to the story. The cats as well - super cute!

Pop culture references had me chuckling and wouldn’t be mad if Heather decided to write more books set in this town/this world.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this lovely ALC - a real comfort book.

Georgina Sadler and Kristen DiMercurio did a fantastic job with the narration for the audio, they really did the sisters justice!

Magical mishaps galore in this super cosy and witchy romantasy.

The small town of Yellowbrick Grove comes across as a whimsy kind of place that's incredibly inviting to out of towners. I loved the cosy vibe and close knit community feeling I got.

I adored the characters, our two MCs Effie and Bonnie couldn't be more different. Effie works at the local library, comes across as bookish, level headed and quite straight laiced. Whereas Bonnie is confident, outgoing and spontaneous. I connected on a deeper level with Effie just because of similar interests. The story starts with them almost at logger heads most of the time however as the story progresses so does their relationship and I loved seeing them grow individually and as sisters.

For the most part the story is light hearted however it does cover some themes of grief and family secrets.

If you like cozy witchy reads with a lice of romance then I definitely recommend this one.

Thank you to Randomthingstours, Panmacmillan and Heather Spellman for a copy of the book.

⭐⭐⭐/5

Released 09/10/25. Thank you Pan Macmillan & Netgalley for this ARC.

We follow two magical sisters who live worlds apart. Effie, a girl after our hearts who lives her days nose in a book working as a Liberian. Bonnie, a socialite who's charm has people enthralled. A sisterly feud of jealously draws Bonnie to their estranged Uncle & uses her magic for his plan. Bonnie always had it all & thought she was unforgettable, but is that the case as her magic captures her town.

This was a cosy magical read with a smidge of romance. Yes, magic is in the story but I didn't feel its heavy magic if that makes sense? The dual POV between the sisters felt very relatable in a sisters dynamic. Both caring/worrying/loving the same things, but in their own unique way. All the characters are quirky and easy to get along with & again relatable as a few we could pin point people we've crossed paths with.

Overall a nice easy quick read with a message of no matter your differences, as long as there is love you will get there together in the end.

I couldn’t resist this charming read, Autumn nights are perfect for witchy reading! The mention of a bookish witch just raised the excitement level too. Upon reading, I did find it took a while for the book to really grab me, but after a few chapters, I began to really enjoy this cosy Autumn read.
I found it quite sad how tense things were between the sisters, I wanted to reach in and bang their heads together, as they should have been sticking together with everything they’d been through. I enjoyed how the story was told from both their points of view, allowing me to get inside both their heads.

The chemistry between certain characters, I personally couldn’t feel the spark, but I loved following them on their journeys and seeing how they developed and their relationships.
My most favourite thing about this book was the setting, if this was a real place, I would love to visit there, the author really brought it to life with her descriptions. Overall, a really fun little escape from reality, bringing the seasonal vibes.

Two’s a Charm is a fun, cozy autumnal read set in the charming town of Yellowbrick Grove.

Effie and Bonnie are two very different sisters, still grieving the loss of their mother in their own ways. The latest rift between them deepens when the hot new guy in town seems more interested in Effie than Bonnie. When Bonnie sees an opportunity to make some money to help keep her bar going she jumps at the chance and everything seems to be finally going well for them both until some unintended side effects of Bonnie’s scheme start affecting the town.

Honestly this was a tricky one for me, both main characters came across pretty unlikable throughout the book and whilst there was a romance theme throughout it still felt pretty undeveloped. The side characters carried this book, they were a fun, diverse set of people who seemed to really care and support the sisters!

Thanks to NetGalley and Pan Macmillan for the ARC!

Entertaining, easy listening. Effie and Bonnie two normal sisters, except for their magic. Effie dowdy, in her own eyes, with a controlled attitude in using her magical skill. Bonnie, glamorous, bell-of-the-ball, more than a bit self-centred, with magic that always goes awry. Two sisters not really talking, grieving a mother’s death in their own ways, a Library and a Bar, the eligible bachelor and a dog and a ghastly Uncle’s schemes gone wrong. It could be the setting for an old fashioned farce.

Instead it’s a nice modern, cosy, bit of fun listening.

And the sisters will only understand each other when they start listening to each other too. Hugs will be given out at the end of the book to those that need them.

Go ahead and relax with a good audiobook.
