A huge thank you to the authors of this story for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC! Unfortunately I have chosen to dnf this one though. I made it a few chapters in, but knew it wasn’t going to be my cup of tea. It was a little too fast paced for me. I don’t rate books I don’t finish, so this one is just being shelved as dnf for me. Hope others can enjoy it more than I did!

One moment caused an avalanche of change

Sky is put through a lot in this book. From the moment her good for nothing slob of a boyfriend was found cheating on her with someone a million percent unacceptable he life began changing.

Levi & Barrett have been there for her since they were kids. They came to her rescue way back then and they came to her rescue now. They had the space and took her in. These guys are the best friends and partners anyone could want.

A single half spoken truth unleashes so many doubts and questions. The answers lead to other questions. The secrets run way deeper than anyone expected. This holds you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what could possibly be next.

There were some issues for me with the way the story was written and some of the word choices I didn't care for but the story itself was very engaging.

I love a good romantic suspense story and make it why choose, yes please!

The plot was so good, it kept me guessing throughout.

The connection between the characters was genuine and a relationship between the three of them worked perfectly. Barrett and Levi were sweethearts who only wanted the best for Skylar.

Disclosure: I received an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) of this book in exchange for an honest review. As someone who loves supporting indie authors, I always aim to share thoughtful, fair feedback. While I have personal reading preferences - like a love for fantasy, horses, or specific tropes - I never let that impact my rating unless it's relevant to the book’s intent or audience. I review with the genre and readership in mind.

I picked this book up thinking, “I haven’t read romantic suspense in a while, let’s see what this is about.” I genuinely didn’t expect to enjoy it this much, but I think I just fell in love with the genre.

At first, I was just curious. Then I saw that it had a why choose trope and I was instantly more excited. What I discovered was so much more than I expected. The suspense, the secrets, the emotional depth - it completely pulled me in. At one point, I literally sat up in bed screaming “no way.” It absolutely got me.

The family history and personal twists throughout the book were intense and layered. One part of the twist I kind of guessed, but what followed completely shocked me. It took everything to another level in the best way.

The romance between the three characters felt incredibly genuine. There’s a deep emotional bond, and their relationship builds naturally after a certain event that really shifts the dynamic. Their connection is raw, intimate, and full of tension.

The spice in this book is definitely there, but it’s not the main focus. It works more like a bonus that adds heat to an already engaging and emotional story. The plot and character development take center stage, which I loved.

If you enjoy romance with mystery, strong character arcs, emotional depth, and a few steamy moments along the way, this book is absolutely worth reading.

"Who are we now?"
A novel of romantic suspense

By Beth Anderson

Do you know when a book starts calm and peaceful, intriguing but serene... and all of a sudden we are overwhelmed by an excessive urgency to keep reading and to finish?

This book unravels such an erotic story that I was seriously not able to put it down. Read almost all of it in one beach day. It was H-O-T ... and it was not the beach sun.

I could not think of a better book to finish my June.

p.s.: I truly wish more readers can experience it.

---

Some of my favorite quotes:

She wasn´t living. She was just...existing.

He held her, absorbing her trembling breaths, her sadness, her exhaustion... but something shifted and there was an urgency, a need in both of them.

He wanted her. Oh, my God, how he wanted her, and it scared the hell out of him.

as if he was desperate for more of her taste, for more of her essence, for more of her love.

It was a kind of openness, a raw vulnerability, that made her even more beautiful - unguarded, stripped bare of all the armor she had been forced to wear just to get through daily life the last few years.

It was the most erotic thing any of them had ever experienced - like something out of the wildest dream none of them had ever had.

They had always been her constants - her boys. Her best friends. Her chosen family. Now her lovers.

they were beyond the fantasy. Reality was literally wilder than anything she ever dreamt of.

A sweet romance story of 3 friends, Levi, Barrett and Skylar, who met when they were young, at camp, and remained fast friends ever since.
As with all friendships, life tended to get in the way, but the friendship was always there for when ever they needed each other.
Skylar had a difficult life growing up, not understanding the distance her mother, Natalie had placed between them. But she was ok, she had Levi and Barrett!!
With secrets and lies surrounding her, Skylar found her boyfriend, Chet having an affair, which should not have surprised her, as she felt he was using her as a means to an end.
Once she caught up to his lies, she left and of course Levi and Barrett were there for her.
This romance is subtle in ways that had Levi and Barrett both loving Skylar from afar, whilst Skylar didn't realize her feelings till later on!
But to love both men? Why should she have to choose? With the lies and deceit unravelling around her, Skylar finds she needed her men more than ever.
As love always finds a way, so does Skylar. Finding out the truth hidden all these years made it easier to understand Natalie.
A great why choose romance that has you caught up in all the feels and emotions felt between the three friends as they become lovers, and get deserved HEA!

If you love books about a woman who finally wakes the hell up and stops being a doormat and a very healthy helping of smut with MFM then this is the book for you. It is not saturated with smut but it is placed well.
So let's start off with the fact that Skylar an educated, beautiful young woman thought she met her dream guy in Chet. He did everything right at first and won her heart so obviously they move in together. Then he turns into a jerk and she is basically his maid, real kicker she works for his dad who is not the easiest boss so obviously she feels trapped.
Finally her suspicion proves correct and she catches him cheating! So she wakes the hell up and kicks him to the curve and moves in with her best friends... thats where it gets spicy! But I won't say more on that.
She finds out basically her life is a lie and she is not who she thought she was. So her best friends help her unravel the truth. Without giving exact details of the book this is the run down. But happy ending for sure and a great second addition to Beth Anderson.
Thank you so much for the ARC copy!

**ARC READ**

Skylar, Barrett, and Levi have been best friends since they were kids at camp. After a very rough break up, Sky moves in with the two boys, and not long after, a mystery unfolds where Sky's mom Natalie goes missing after a very rough confrontation. As the 3 work to find Natalie, Skylar not only is challenged to face her feelings regarding her friends, but must also face life - and reality - changing news.

This book was fantastic! I love myself a good mystery and everything was presented and wrapped nicely in a bow once it was completed. I also LOVED watching the relationship between Barrett, Skylar, and Levi unfold and blossom - a beautiful little why choose moment for all and it made my heart so happy! Highly recommend this book!!

Wow! This one had me on the edge of my seat, in so many ways.

The love triangle is just awesome, starting out as best friends, to only overcome their feelings and merge into something else. But what I enjoyed more, was the mystery, the what is going on. There was a lot of suspense, and it was great to read. In a way, it sort of felt like the romance took more of a backseat for the suspense level. And the strong, solid friendship stayed just as strong, morphing slowly along the way.

If you want something that’s quick, but still good, and will keep you guessing, make sure to grab this one!

I love a good why choose! And friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes.
I found the beginning of this book a little slow, but the build up was important. Once it started rolling it really took off and kept me invested.
The character’s connection and interaction were believable and really helped me connect with the story. I very much enjoyed their meeting and knew exactly what I was going to get from the characters moving forward (well almost, it is suspense, after all)

Heads up, this book is in third person POV.

I thought this was a very solid novel with a good mystery and some very spicy sex scenes. The friendship between the FMC and the two gentlemen was realistic, and I liked both the subplot about not being able to connect with your parent and the depiction of accepting a step-parent as a "real parent."

I really enjoyed this book! The story was great! I did not love the 3rd person aspect. It felt hard to distinguish who’s pov we were on when the chapters weren’t specifically one person. I would still recommend as the story itself was awesome. The spice was mighty spicy and the suspense was top notch.

I really enjoyed this book by Beth Anderson. Skylar has a lot going on and gets the surprise of her life. Her d-bag now ex was cheating on we with someone she knew! Thankfully she had the support of her two BFFs Liam and Barrett. They helped her solve a mystery and help her transition through some tough times.

Check this book out, I found it interesting and wondering what’ll happen next.

This book had a good mystery to it and I liked the conclusion to the story. The friendship was sweet and the romance was spicy. I liked that the FMC got to stand up for herself towards her previous relationship who treated her poorly. This was a quick read and I enjoyed it.

I was sucked in from the beginning. An excellent read that I finished in just a couple of days. The suspense was there, some twists to plot that I did not expect, and an ending that left me wanting more. Highly recommend! Will read again for sure.
