This is not the retelling of ahurricane that's been here.¿ SURGE is thestory of the one that's coming. A Category 5 hurricane is bearingdown on Galveston Island.Unknown to the sixty thousand residents desperately trying to flee the wrath ofMother Nature, there is an even greater threat to their safety than the storm. An angry man is secretly planning revenge that could set in motion a chainreaction along the entire Gulf Coast, rivaling the destruction of Hiroshima.Rod Tanner takes you on thisharrowing journey through the eyes of a blue-collar worker whose life revolvesaround his family, a sleazy developer and his equally self-centered wife, amadman bent on revenge, a politician with a gambling addiction, a young girlwho has come to a crossroads in her life and a fireman whose life has suddenlybecome meaningless. Not all will survive Dolly's fury and the ones that do willnever be the same SURGE is the best thrill-ride tocome out of the ocean since Jaws.
As someone who has lived in Galveston and along the coast I enjoy all the local references and as someone who has fled hurricanes I can tell you this book is the real deal! Luckily I’ve never experienced a horrible one but we all know the Gulf is a ticking time bomb. This story will keep you on the edge of your seat as you cheer for the characters to survive the storm of the century!
I thoroughly enjoyed this story.there are a few storylines I would have liked to see Mr tanner choose alternative outcomes.I'm sick but the more bang the better.but it was well written.my one Huge complaint is the use of upward of 13 blank pages between chapters on kindle.luckily the story outways my irritation on this.I would have liked to take half point off if I could.but the plot was good enough not to drop to a four..good luck, Mr. tanner, on future books
