This was a short quick read that I thought was dark. Diana Maxwell finally meets the man she's had a crush on for months. Kit and Diana meet at his restaurant and have an instant attraction. Half the book takes place over the first week of their new relationship digging into both their pasts and its effects on their present. Diana is a trust fund heiress but hasn't lived off of it. Instead, she is a successful architect in Boston and continues to thrive in her career. Kit is a chef who has opened his own famous restaurant named StockWell. There was hints of a little more to Kit's personality than the sweet stable way he first appears. Turns out Kit is a Dom and Diana is a sub. This was a pretty good read this was my first time reading this author. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Gorgeous cover, it's simplicity draws you in with the black background and I like that Rosemary did not go for the obvious due to the book title. This is Rosemary's third book, I have previously read her and did thoroughly enjoy Rebound and her style of writing. In this book that style is taken up a notch in my opinion, and I found myself reading an absolutely beautiful piece of erotic literature. Often the words erotic and literature are at odds with each other in the same sentence but not here. There's a flair of elegance throughout this book, written in the third person (which I know Rosemary was eager to try) I never got lost or stumbled with who was saying or doing what, it just had a wonderful flow to it making it an easy and captivating read. Rosemary has such a refined way with her words, her descriptive text is just exquisite.
I'm not giving the story away (I never do) but in a nutshell this story is of two people who are not particularly broken but find that they are lacking something in their lives. That something is each other. Kit could be construed as your alpha male (if you read between the lines) but he has that something that makes girls knees weak, you will swoon for Kit! I adored the fact that his beard is a feature....hot!! And Diana, she is a quirky little lady with a bag full of confidence and a serious crush on Kit before she even met him. She has been known for her stalker tendencies so constantly reverts back to her therapy in order to keep herself in check. Both have some hot fantasies about each other through out the whole book, a little x-rated at times but isn't that what erotica is? They weren't vulgar in any way whatsoever and were a pleasure to read. Yes, there is some BDSM in here but it felt light to me and not so hardcore, that suited this book better.
At chapter three I was awwwwing and ahhhing, there are some seriously beautiful moments throughout this whole book. Along with some misunderstandings, extremely hot scenes that have some passionate and mesmeric language thrown in, this is a book that is really hard to put down. Their relationship becomes intense and all consuming to each other. There are other characters which make an appearance in the book to give you a good, well balanced story with just enough to pull you in, and I was pleased to see reference to her previous books in here as well. (Though you do not need to read them in order to follow this story)
All in all this book was a pleasure to read, I got the warm fuzzies, the wet panties (cough), the frustrated stomps and eventually the sigh of happiness. Loved it, absolute firm fan of Rosemary's after reading this latest book. Don't change your style....it's a breath of fresh air :) Huge 5!

--Received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review--

I have to start by saying that every book I've read so far by Rosemary has left me wanting more. I can't get enough from these characters.

Diana is a woman who hasn't had much luck in the love department and all she really wants is a man to love her for herself. she has had issue in the past with stalking an ex-boyfriend and this is why she wants to make sure the next man is willing to make it official and be committed to her.

Kit isn't looking for love, but when he sees Diana eating alone in his restaurant he can't help how much this woman affects him. Kit has decided at that moment that he want to pursue her.

As Kit and Diana get to know each other, they start having trust issues and definitely communication issues. They start having little jealous spats without even knowing what is really going on.

Can these two make it work? Can they work out their trust issues and start communicating so there won't be any issues?

This was a very beautiful story. Loved how Diana was not only a beautiful woman inside out but she wasn't a super model (thin) and even though she's not thin, she still manages to turn heads around because she has beauty all around.

Kit is a sexy alpha who is also a Dom with tats, but who has a great heart and cares about his partner(s).

I totally give this book 4 stars. Can't wait to continue reading more from Ms. Rey.

I was given the chance to read an ARC of this book. I have never been so happy to be on Goodreads as I am when I encounter "new to me" authors. When I was asked to read Flame I decided to read one of earlier books first. While Flame is easily a stand alone book there were pulls from her first book in the Pentagon series that helped me create a connection with characters. But, you definitely DO NOT need to read Rebound to enjoy Flame. I enjoyed the characters. I wanted Kit to get rid of Elena immediately. She was just a complete witch and that is being kind. I count it a success if a book can get me to react to a character and this one definitely had me wanting to slap her for Diana. At first I thought it was going to be uncomfortable when there was a lot of dialog about her obsession and compulsion in her relationships. Once it became clear that she was once young and in a dom/sub relationship in which she fell in love and got hurt I understood a little more how the character was built. I absolutely love the image Rosemary painted of Kit. I just kept picturing him with his tattoo's and smokin' hot body. I thought it was on the tamer side and would have liked a little more in the area of eroticism but overall I thoroughly enjoyed the book. If it is any indication I downloaded Rebound Saturday and Flame on Subday and both have been read. I was falling asleep at my desk today but it was worth it.

I received an ARC copy of Flame for an unbiased review. I really enjoyed reading this book; I had not read any of the author's other books so this was a treat.
This book starts out a bit simplistic but it's worth hanging in there for just a little while while the author gets her stride. As I read and got to "know" the characters, I both liked them as vulnerable people yet wanted to wring their necks at the same time. They both made rash decisions about one another without giving the other person time to explain. They had both been hurt and their pasts definitely haunted them as they attempted to forge a new and healthy relationship with one another. It was like watching the growth happen as I read; they each had to do some soul-searching and growing and compromising and work toward getting the true love they each found with one another. I will be reading more from this author.

Kit is a chef who has opened his own renouned restaurant named StockWell. There was hints of a little more to Kit's personality than the sweet, stable way he first appears. I hadn't read much about this book so Kit's preference for the BDSM lifestyle was a surprise to me. This author always writes HOT erotica, and didn't disappoint with this story. What shocked me even more, was Diana's history as a submissive and how that previous relationship had hurt her. She had gotten clingy and obsessive with her previous boyfriend and this aspect of her added a vulnerability to her character that is well incorporated into making this story richer. That's what I love about this author, she always adds a little "more" to her characters in terms of depths of their personalities and has that tie into the relationship they are trying to either start or make work. This was a great escape with two characters who are well-established in their careers and without broken or messed up lives. It was a refreshing story about two people finding each other, falling in love and finding ways to make their relationship work (with some seriously hot sex added to the mix).

Another great read, the third book by this talented new author. Two successful business people, Diana an architect/designer and Kit a restaurant owner/cook meet at his restaurant as she dined alone. Diana had been following Kit's reviews in many publications, she had wanted to meet him especially after her latest relationship broke up. Kit was immediately taken by her lush beautiful body and her accomplished demeanour.

This story had several other characters that added to the drama including an ex Master/Dom from Diana's first sub experience. And Elana, a women working in Kits restaurant who has her sights set on him and who has it out for Diana.

This story was very well written, the author describes scenes in great detail as shown in the following excerpt, "Diana took the first bite of the flavorful frittata. The flavor burst in her mouth and a moan escaped before she could tell him how wonderful it tasted. She didn't even bother to compliment until she tasted the salad. The dressing was light and citrusy. "It tastes even better," she moans. Kit smiled as she ate with enthusiasm, much like she did the other night at the restaurant. He loved how she ate with gusto. Not only was Diana a fantastic lover, but she matched his passion for food. Kit ate, but enjoyed the comfortable silence of eating next to the ravishing woman he fantasized about during the week."

The characters were easy to like and relate to, both having confidence issues and being afraid of love. They needed to learn to trust each other and it was beautiful to watch these exchanges between these loving and caring partners. The sex...was hot..'"You're so beautiful"..."You take my breath away"...He kissed her full lips, parting the seam of her lips with his tongue. Their tongues lazily entwined, savoring each other's taste. Kit growled as Diana caressed his upper arms with her fingers. Her sensual touch made him quiver. Walking her to the side of the bed, he sat her at the edge and laid her down.'

I would call this book light BDSM, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Flame and will definitely look for more books by this young and talented author. ARC provided by the author for an honest review.

I was provided a copy of the book by the Author for an honest review.

OH WOW HOLY SMOKE, I just finish reading this book, and I have to say that I love it, love the characters, and love how the book turn out to be, I also love it how the author mention some of the character from (The Pentagon Group series. I have to say that this book got me mad at some point, but I love every single minute of it, I will keep this short sine I don't want to give anything away.

The story begging with Diana, she is a talented architect, and work for one of the best company in Boston, for the last few month Diana had being wanted to meet, the Sexy talented chef Kit, after she made reservation for her and her boyfriend, he broke up with her few days before the diner, now she is sitting alone having diner at Kit restaurant, in the mean time Kit keep watching his staff and hearing what they talking, that's when he ask them what was going on, that's when one of the waiter inform him of the beauty wild eyes that was eating by her self, when it came to the time to great the guess, that's when Diana decide to go home, but when she stood up she bump right into Kit, Kit couldn't believe how attractive she was, that's when he knew that he wanted to get to know her better, will Diana give up on her feelings and be with him, or will she hide from it.

I love the way how Kit and Diana are with each other, I love how Kit tried to do everything he can to make her happy, I love it how Diana is a size fourteen and feel so comfortable with her weight, love it how she is with Kit, and let me say that the Sex Scene are hot.

Author Rosemary Rey THANK YOU for introducing me to this awesome characters and this amazing book love it.

There are times when I start a book not even knowing what its about....This is one of those times. I read the other two books by this author and loved them so I just dove straight into this one. I didn't at all know what to expect but I loved it.

There are all these hero's out there today that are complete man whores and I always think to my self "In real life no woman would ever just settle for a man that EVERY woman has had." which is true but in the fantasy world of books its fine to have an innocent girl taming the bad boy. But sometimes that gets old. With Kit you don't have to worry about all the woman of his past, there might be a few but not too many and he's actually....wait for it ladies....been celibate since his last girlfriend. Yep he's tatted, muscly, is a chef, is hot and doesn't have a huge list of lovers. Oh and did I mention that Kit is a Dom?

Diana is a strong willed, driven, and successful working woman. She's a bit insecure about her image but nothing extreme, and she has a school girl crush on Kit. There relationship together is quiet perfect. But its not always just sunshine and roses, there is conflict or drama but it's not forced. It's very natural and I felt for them both.

Oh and can I just say that seeing a tiny bit of Matt was exciting too. He's one of my favorite book boyfriends.

Rosemary has delivered three great books so far and I highly recommend them. The story reads smoothly, the writing is great, and for being a self published author the editing is top notch.

I look forward to more, but I'm not sure how patient I can be though.

I received this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Flame is written in a third person point of view, which is different from Rosemary’s previous books where she wrote in first person. It was a little difficult for me to get used to reading her book in this POV; however, as I continued to read, it got better.

I really love how Rosemary portrays the female characters in her books. They come across as strong and determined. For instance, Diana had some issues in her past that she was determined not to repeat and was willing to make a sacrifice if need be. In the beginning I really wanted to send both Diana and Kit to Stalker-aholics anonymous (you’ll see why when you read it). About midway through the book, the story got even more interesting and there were a few times that I wanted Diana to kick Kit to the curb (sorry, but I did lol) and I wanted to knock some other characters out :-) (out of protectiveness of Diana, mind you).

One of the things I enjoyed about this book was seeing glimpses of characters from her Pentagon Group series, Rebound and Unbound.

This is a standalone book, although I do recommend reading the Pentagon Group series, but it isn’t necessary (however…trust me…read the series!!!).

Thank you Rosemary for giving me the opportunity to read Flame. I continue to enjoy watching you grow as an author and taking chances on different writing styles.

I was given Flame to read for an honest review and I have to say I did not want to put the book down. 4.5 Stars - Loved the play on the word Flame thought that was a completely different way to use the title of the book. I loved how the book was written in that it was not written from either of their POVs but from somewhat of a narrator's that was very different from other books I have read and really enjoyed it. Thought the writing flowed really well fell in Love with both characters rather quickly. Although at some points I wanted to smack them both upside their head for jumping to conclusions but I guess that stems from both of their pasts and not wanting to get burned again (no pun intended). Although there were times while I was reading where my stomach ached, you know that kind where you almost can't breathe, because I knew something bad was going to happen. I wish there was a little more of that in the book - maybe a little bit more of their time apart and the hard times they were going through being apart from each other. I really wanted this book to make me cry for their loss but it didn't. I really wanted to feel it. If it had that for me I think there would be no doubt it would have been 5 Stars.

Diana is an architect who recently broke up with her boyfriend dines alone at an expensive restaurant. It’s this restaurant that she meets the head chef, Kit. Diana is a strong and successful woman who seems to know what she wants but does not seem able to get it.

Kit is the head chef and restaurant owner of a new restaurant in town that takes two months to get into. Kit is a strong and likeable man. I loved how he pursues Diana, almost like a man obsessed.

The connection between Kit and Diana is intense. However, their respective pasts seems to keep haunting each other. It leaves each of them to jump to conclusions and relive hurts of the past. The chemistry between Kit and Diana keeps each of them coming back. The sex scenes were blistering.

I found this book well written with a unique plot. The main characters and the secondary characters were mesmerizing. While the ending was predictable, the journey the author takes the reader is gripped with several unanticipated twists and turns. I had a hard time putting this book down. Overall, this was a very fascinating book and I hope to see these characters again in the future.

First things first: I liked the book. 3.5 stars worth. I liked that both players are successful and there is not a sugar daddy-type situation in which the girl feels like she's worth less (I'm looking at you, FSoG). That's one of the main perks of the story. Also, we didn't go into the BDSM in much depth which, for me, worked fine; I read for the love story anyways.

The fluid third person omniscient POV works well for the story. I don't think it is entirely necessary to know the minor thoughts and motives of supporting characters, but having different opinions and thoughts is always refreshing. However, miscommunication of what happens and what people are thinking drives me insane as much as it drives the plot.

There is no subtlety to this book. Everything Rosemary once you to know she blatantly says it. I think the plot could be a little more develops and not everything that people think needs to be included to push the plot along.

All that said, I very much liked the story and the main characters. I am looking forward to reading more by Rosemary Rey!

I received an ARC for this book in return for an honest review.

This book was different then some of the books the characters were strong and although they had some unresolved issues in the end it was a boy meet girl loves boy book.

Some of the language to describe body parts were strange to me i don't love when people call anatomical parts with other flowery name like , petals flower, bloom . It is not my thing.
I also had an issue with the fact that the author kept referencing her size. It was mentioned she was a size 14 which in my opinion is not obese but not a skinny size 4 or 6.

putting those issues aside I did like the fact that they had this unbelievable connection and tried very hard to put their individual issues aside to figure out a way to make it work.
I feel like this book made a specific point to explore their relationship with comprimise and the notion that people need to give and take when they are in a committed realtionship is just very refreshing. In reality these ideals is the only thing that works but in a book they skim over this most of the time

Wow, I loved this book. This is Rosemary Rey's third book, I have read and loved them all. They keep getting better. I love that this one is wrote in third person and was very easy to follow. I was so hooked by this book I couldn't put in down. I read it in one day, I stayed up until midnight because I couldn't put it down. I love the characters, Kit, a handsome chef who owns his own restaurant and Diane, a smart, beautiful architect. Each have been missing something in their lives but weren't sure what it was until they meet. This is a wonderful romance story with some hot sex scenes. You follow along in their relationship with its ups and downs, hoping everything can work out for them. This is a complete story with no cliffhanger, and I loved the epilogue to see what happens in the future. I was given an ARC for a fair and honest review.

I was given a copy by author for an honest review.

Flame is the first book that I've read from this author and I can honestly say she has me intrigued.

Kit is a chef and owns one of the most delicious gourmet restaurants.

Diana is an architect designer who has been crushing on Kit for awhile and has wanted to meet him.

After her boyfriend breaks up with her she describes to keep her reservation at Kits restaurant she made for his birthday and eats alone. Little does she know she finally gets to meet Kit.

The chemistry between the two is so real, the sex scenes are out of this world! The story was very well written and I can't wait to see what else this author has to bring.

I give this 4.5 stars! I loved this book. For me It had just the right amount of sex and story. The characters are written and developed well with each of them growing along with each other and the story. They have great chemistry in and out of bed while working together to get past each others insecurities so they build a nice strong relationship.

The whole thing is just so well written. This was my first book by Rosemary and I will be adding her previous and future books to my TBR.

This is a love story between two people struggling to find eachother's significant other, both searching for a receptive s/D relationship but foolishly denying themselves their true desires.Kit ( The hot, bearded & tattooed chef)and Diana (The volumptuous & sexy architect)try to commit to a relationship but are convinced that it's destined to fail due to their stubborness and trust issues.Although there is an instant attraction and are both made for eachother they let pride interfere with their feelings.Very well written book, the author has an eloquent form of writing.

How do you know that a book is good? When, even with loads of laundry to do and screaming children, you still can't put it down! Kit and Diana are a complicated, sweet and hot as hell couple that will keep you entertained with their chemistry, great food and some ups and downs! I loved everything about this book but I just thought the end came to soon, or it was just me not wanting it to end at all! Rosemary Rey's books just keep on getting better and better!!!!!

Holy hotness!! Going into this book blind, I had no expectations or what it was even about. All I can say, is there's nothing hotter than a man who knows how to cook, who has a little power about him. Wow, what a hot little read. The connection between Kit & Diana was instant and I loved how he pursued her and let her know what he wanted. Definitely a 4 star read for me due to hot factor & intro to a subject I didn't know much about! Can't wait to read more from this author!

Flame by Rosemary Rey
Too hot to handle - I loved the Pentagon Series by this author so when I saw flame, I immediately bought it.
What can I say, once again Rosemary has written a awesome book.
The story is about Diana who is architect who has recently broken up with her boyfriend. She decides to dine alone at one of the top restaurants
Kit is the head chef and restaurant owner the new restaurant.Kit is a strong and likeable man
The chemistry is hot between the two, but somehow things never go right. There past seems to keep catching up with them. However there is a HEA but with lots of drama and plot twist before we get there.
Once again Rosemary has written a wonderful addicting story.

Thank you, Ms. Rey for giving me a copy of Flame. Sorry if it took me a while to review this.

First, I want to say that I do love your Pentagon Series and I'm eagerly awaiting for the last book. My review here does not affect my love for your other books. And this is reviewed with my personal 'bias' and current 'taste' (translated as the current genre I'm reading for this period).

Now, for the review... I think I'm a little uncomfortable with the way you wrote the book in the "Third Person POV". Maybe because you were too detailed and sometimes it was too much info (but maybe that's just me.) then there were times when I get confuse on who's talking and I have to re-read it again. But then, you did mention that this was your first try in writing in this so that's probably okay. I still like the story (sans the BDSM thing).

^^ I'll confess that I skip a lot of the submissive part since I'm really having a hard time reading BDSM stories now. Probably because I'm reading YA nowadays and its too much shifting! I promise I'll reread it again once I'm into the submissive erotic stories again.

However, it made me realize the reason for the title. ^^ Simple enough! And I like how Kit was connected with the Pentagon group too. Even Diana. Your books are somehow interconnected which I like. And Diana knowing Dr. Keene is such a surprise! I didn't expect that.. I need to check Rebound and Unbound again to see if Diana was ever mentioned.

Anyways, see you on your next book, Ms. Rey!

Still a Fan. :)

ARC kindly provided by the author, in exchange for an honest review. 3 STARS!

This book tells the story of the romance between hot and upcoming Chef Kit Phlaim and Architect Diana Maxwell.
Diana is a woman who has been through a number of troubling relationships. Her past has made her a more self reflective and confident woman, but she has been lusting after Kit for some time and when she finally meets him, she can't believe that he seems interested in her.
Kit is a career driven Chef of one of the hottest new restaurants and has been so focused on opening his new place he hadn't had time for a meaningful relationship.
I liked both of these characters and enjoyed reading their story. However I kept wishing for more. I wanted the story to have more teeth - it was a little light for me and while I wanted to read about them, I never felt absorbed by them or that I couldn't put the book down. I want that in a story. I want to be sorry when I get to the last page and I didn't feel that attachment here.
The writing felt like that of a relatively new author with promise, but was stiff. There were too any awkward sentence structures and bad punctuation which means better editing is necessary.
I look forward to seeing the progress of this author and watching her develop with each new book she writes.

I gave this one 3.5 stars, but only 3 on the sex appeal. It is promoted as erotic on many sites but I didn't see it that way. i really liked the book and the story line. It was fast paced and I really like that the Heroine wasn't your typical stick figure model type. However, I dropped the stars bcae the fact that Diana wasn't stick thin was mentioned soon freaking often. Overtime they had sex her thick thighs are mentioned. it was nice to see an author move away from the norms and I did enjoy the book a lot.
