Torn & Bound Duet

Rate this book
I’ve spent the past three years in college terrorizing the dean, also known as my father.

I’m everything he hates.
Troublemaker. Slacker. Gay.

But I’m only getting started.
I’m about to make Dad really proud with my newest life choices…

I fall for my best friend, Mia, who’s a freaking chick.
I’m dying to make out with my enemy, dude bro Brayden.
And best of all, I want to bone my new roomie, Drew, who happens to also be the school’s new hockey coach.

I’m the world’s worst human.
I’ve made all the wrong decisions, and when Dad gets wind of my newest mess, he might actually disown me this time.

But I can’t stop.
I don’t want to stop.

I’m a spoiled boy who’s used to getting what I want.

In this case, I want them. All of them.
And I sure as hell won’t stop until I succeed.

Authors’ note: The Torn and Bound Duet is a mature, new adult, poly romance between friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, with a bit of taboo thrown in. This duet contains MF/MFMM/MM scenes. If you purchased Torn Apart and Bound Together, you already own this story.

TORN: All the Flavors of Love, No Labels Required

Okay, wow! This book was like everything that I love. Written by K. Webster and Nikki Ash, I should have expected nothing less! It’s not so much a “why choose” as it is a “no one chooses” situation. I loved all four of the main characters and honestly don’t have a favorite—which is so not like me—literally all of them.

For a story about four people navigating their relationships, sexualities, and the (lack of) labels, this duet isn’t overly spicy; it’s just right. I’m diving straight into part two because this story is giving everything. And can we talk about the narration? It was really well done!

BOUND: Angst, Spice, and the Perfect Finale

So good! A little more predictable than the first book, but I still absolutely loved it. This one was packed with heart-wrenching angst, good parents, bad parents, and a lot of spice—way more than the first book.

I won’t go into specifics because almost everything is a spoiler, but just know this was a fantastic duet, and the narration? Literally perfect.

A cute fluffy book about a polyamorous 4-some (MFMM) of college kids who play hockey and party. It surprisingly wasn't bad and was sweet and emotional at times. Spice level =🌶🌶🌶🌶 Would do business again.

I have to admit, this may be one of my favourite reads of 2023🤭

“Bound together by friendship, fierce loyalty, and unimaginable love.”

5✨

I think my heart was in my throat for about 85% of this duet. This duet - it’s complex and heavy with so many emotions. When I took on this audiobook, it was because Nikki had mentioned this book to me when we were discussing MFM. I wasn’t expecting this story to have me by the throat and flipping pages until I could finish. This duet is mastered at flow, the bounce between characters, their emotions, and their actions is portrayed perfectly. Everything is easy to follow and concise, but had my heart pumping with anticipation and stress! But to be real, this duet was extremely well written, and I’ve been trying to wrap my head around how astonishing the story that took place is. It was very different than the typical reverse harem. There was a lot more complex emotions and the angst between the characters - and the chemistry - felt like it was something that I had never read before.

There are four characters in this story, and to be honest, I loved every single one of them for various reasons. The writing in this duet is a complete tease, I had no idea what to expect but I couldn’t stop reading. It was just SO DAMN GOOD - HIGHLY RECOMMEND🫶🤣

I read and listened to this duet, and I’m so glad I did. The narration was fantastic—Tim Paige really nailed the MMCs and Kelsey Navarro gave Mia such a strong, emotional voice. It added a whole extra layer to the story. The last 10%? Absolutely broke me. I didn’t expect to tear up like that, but here we are.

This is an MMMF romance with MF, MM, MMF scenes, but it’s not just about the spice—though don’t worry, there’s plenty of that, especially in book two. It’s more about four people trying to figure out who they are and how they fit together. They hurt each other a lot along the way, but it never felt like drama just for the sake of it. They were struggling, lost even, and it made their growth feel earned.

What I loved most was how different the dynamics were. There’s no clear "who ends up with who" at the start. It’s messy, fluid, and full of tension. Ashton, Bray, Drew, and Mia all come with their own baggage. There’s friends-to-lovers, enemies-to-lovers, past wounds, jealousy, misunderstandings—and somehow, it all comes together without losing the plot.

The pacing was spot-on. Especially in Torn, I found myself flying through the pages (or audio) because I had to know how they were going to fix things. The authors managed to balance all four POVs without it feeling confusing or repetitive. That’s not easy with this many main characters, but they pulled it off.

Bound had a slightly more predictable plot than Torn, but it made up for that with deeper emotions and heavier scenes. Family issues, identity, forgiveness—it all hits hard. Still, it ends exactly the way it should, with a HEA that feels real and well-earned.

This duet is something different from your typical “why choose” romance. It’s not just about getting the steam (though that’s here too); it’s about finding connection and learning to love without labels or rules. Definitely worth reading—or listening!

Re-reading this, I'm feeling very split on this.

On the one hand it's a comfort read to me and I like that it's true poly.

On the other hand there are a few aspects that annoy or upset me now that I don't think I had issues with (or maybe I never noticed) when I first read it years ago.

First of all, what the hell is the level of casual alcohol consumption in this book. I know it's set in college but this is normalizing a very regular and over the top level of consumption that goes beyond college party life. It's weird that it's being criticized with Ash's mom but then being handled so casually for the MCs.

Second, the FMC is described as "she's not like other girls" in a way that puts down other girls. In fact, until the epilogue none of the characters really have meaningful connections outside of the polycule and it's especially noticeable that Mia doesn't really have any girl friends, not even from high school. The general topic is being addressed for some of the MCs and I get that some of them are also still relatively new in town, but it feels... off.

I also have some feelings about the "straight for you" twist on the "gay for you" trope. It can be incredibly problematic - conversion themes and all - but I do think this book handles it in an acceptable way. Something about how Ash as a character handles his sexuality, relationships, needs etc. still bothers me though.

No clear consent in a few places and what is at least in the gray area of cheating are definitely an issue here too.

Everything else that bothers me is probably acceptable considering the MCs are supposed to be college students who do tend to make stupid decisions.

This was absolutely phenomenal. There's nothing I like better than an angsty sports romance with men and women who all want each other but can't figure out what to do about it.

Book 1 in this duet was epic, reading and listening to it, before I knew it, it was over.

Best friends Ashton and Mia, who are also neighbours, hang out all the time. Ashton is gay, while Mia is secretly in love with him, but also a virgin.

After an almost hookup with drew, who turns out to be not only the new coach but also Ashtons new roommate, things start to get messy. When Mia gets drunk and pounces on Ashton she has to demand he tell her his true feelings before she can move on with Bray, Drew's ex best friend and arch nemesis.

As their history's unfold we soon learn that they're all into each other, but in true sports romance style, Ashton and Bray mess it up when Mia and Drew walk in on them getting hot and heavy in the locker room!

Ugh. Phenomenal. I just can never get enough of Nikki Ash in audio. Book 1 i devoured, book 2 was the round up I needed.

Torn and Bound Duet

This Duet is so freaking good 😍. First I'd like to say this book came to me by my fyp on TikTok just a day or so ago. The video intrigued me with "when you're in love with your gamer best friend, who's into guys... but when you try to move on, he kisses you and says he wants you to be his." So I instantly downloaded it and it was a book 2 or before I could start it. Which I did start late last night, like 11pm and stayed up til 4am trying the read the whole dang thing. But sleep calls and what's a girl to do, lol. I just finished and holy freaking balls was this everything I wanted to read in a book finally!!! It checked off so many things that I have had in mind and been wanting in a book for a while now 💯👌👏🥰. If you love mm, mmhm, rh, then you have to read this. I will warn you, there will be tears no doubt, but I swear you will love it. Read it now‼️‼️‼️

The Torn and Bound Duet is emotional, steamy, and gripping. I was hooked from the start!

The characters are dynamic and interesting. The relationships are well fleshed out, and the RH as a whole is gradually developed.

I loved the duet. A fantastic RH with likable characters, meaningful relationships, and steamy good times. Highly recommended for fans of RH romances with m/m interactions.

My favorite line from this book “Your capacity to love is limitless. The only thing stopping you is the way you think.”

Poly + MMMF + hotties with bodies + hockey

I’d give it a solid 5/5 for spicy 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️

I liked this book soooooooo much more than the first. The first was great for starting it all, giving the back story and starting the chemistry between them all. But the second book was amazingly wrote which helped develop the characters and have you fall in love with them also. It had a great plot line, great emotional roller coasters with things everyone had to overcome along with tragic things in their pasts but also helped them overcome it all and grow as people with a great HEA. And the spicy was off the charts! If your not down with poly MMMF, then this isn’t for you. But if you love, love no matter whose it is. This is for you! 💋

Review: I really enjoyed this book. This is two books in one. Torn apart is the first book and Bound Together is the second book. This is a why choose hockey romance. This book follows Ashton, Mia, Braydon and Drew. Ashton’s dad is the dean of the college he attended. Ashton newest life choices might push his dad over the edge. Ashton is falling for his best frind Mia. Ashton wants to makeout with his enemy Braydon and Ashton has the hots for his new roommate Drew, who also happens to be the new hockey coach. I really enjoyed the character development in this book. I loved the storyline. I loved the banter in this book. This book was an emotional rollercoaster.

Favorite Quote:”I have so much bottled up inside me, I feel like a coke bottle someone’s been shaking over and over. One of these days, the lid is going to come off and I’m going to explode. “

Absolutely Loved It

This duet was such a great read. I loved how Ashton, Mia, Brayden, and Drew all came together in different ways. It felt very organic and not forced. They were all attracted to each other and each one had obstacles in their lives that kept them from being truly happy. Together, they overcame those obstacles and the epilogue was so good! I’m glad that was included in the story. The spicy scenes were hot and there was a ton of variation, so nothing felt overdone and repetitive. Another book I’ll have to add to my physical copy collection!
P.S. I stayed up way too late trying to finish this book and avoided adult responsibility until I was done reading it.

There is lots of angsty tension and back and forth and so many FEELS in this book. I kept gasping and thinking, "ooo are they gonna...??" I love K Webster's quick short novellas that have a complete plot but also a lot of heat, and this isn't them. This is more of a show burn and you're figuring things out as they're figuring things out. Ends in a cliffy but the second book is included!

I loved how organically things just happened in this story. There wasn't a big grand planned moment, they just pushed boundaries and kept checking in with each other. Loved this story and how special I felt to get to read it.

I went in to this book not really knowing what to expect, but it was very interesting & unique & emotional - so I was pleasantly surprised.

It's about a poly-relationship, not a reverse harem. More like a why choose. Like why would I choose one when I can have everyone.
But it's not an easy road, and there's a lot of bumps and miscommunications, and heartbreak along the way.

But I just think it's a really beautiful story of acceptance, and love, and found family, and friendship.

Exciting, Funny, Heartwarming

Ashton, Mia, Drew and Brayden are now some of my favorite characters. I loved and was moved by each of their individual back stories, their trauma and struggles. I loved seeing them grow and evolve throughout each chapter in Torn and Bound.
This was a beautiful story of love, loyalty and friendship with the addition of spicy moments laced in between.

Labels are for filing. Labels are for clothing. Labels are not for people.

This was a very different read for Me, but nonetheless a good read. These two books are filled with raw emotions, mishaps, funny scenes, but they are also filled with love, passion and a bond there is sure to leave to breathless. I was at the edge of my seat a few times, there where times I was screaming and pulling my hair thinking not so nice things but then the swoon oh my… well done.

This duet didn’t go at all how I thought it would. But I was hooked and binge read it needing all the answers.
I’m a huge fan of reverse harem and I love the addition of MM. This story had so much angst and drama, but in the best possible way that you need to keep reading.

I really enjoyed the characters and how they all came together even with being vastly different personalities. I can’t say no to the enemies to lovers trope either which this does so well.

This felt like a really authentic depiction of the formation of a polygamorous relationship, like how it would organically form in real life, rather than cheesy situations that only happen in books and movies. While there were bits of spice from the start, the real spice was quite slow-burn. There was quite a bit of unnecessary padding in the middle, with a relatively rushed last 20%. Otherwise loved the character developments

Love is love. This was a great MF, MM, & MFMM, RH multiple POV duet! The characters are all lovable & flawed. Good spice level. Though I’m not the biggest fans of a virgin FMC, it was done well. I read it super fast! Usually I enjoy most books, but always end wanting more of this or less of that. I have no notes, which is why I gave it 5 stars. If you’re into these types of books, I highly recommend it.

4.5 rounded up

This duology went different than I thought it would and I was completely hooked throughout it all!

A fairly quick read with lots of spice and all the MM smexiness. Trigger for semi-cheating.

Loved the sports aspect and the found family. The family/background characters rounded out the main characters really well with the drama they caused and the baggage they caused each of the main characters to have. #FamilyTrauma

i once read a book where the guy was convinced he’s gay but then the fmc and her magical vagina suddenly made him pan. is this the same situation?
i didn’t understand brayden. was he even in the whole future love situation? why he acted like a pissy drama queen around drew?
didn’t want to waste my time on this one

don’t put this one off

After having this recommended several times I finally picked it up, then proceeded to read it in a day! It so good! The individual relationships, then how these guys work together as a poly family… perfect. The spice, the sports romance, the other tropes that these authors managed to get into on beautiful story. Yes. Read this and enjoy

Queer Polyamorous Love for the win! I really enjoyed this more than I thought I would.

It was a bit of a slow burn for them to get together, but I like the drama and angst so 🤷‍♀️

Some parts were a bit all over the place or felt slightly rushed, but not enough to take me out of the story and be too upset about it.

This had been on my TBR for a while and I’m happy I finally read it!

I really enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed this duet. It was written well. There were several lines that were excellent and kept you reading for more. I liked the characters. It was also easy to tell them apart which can be a problem in some Why choose books. Lastly, the plot line was easy to follow and did not shift from one book to the next.
