Brief Encounters by Arpita Chaudhary Sarkar is a heartwarming and delightfully short office romance that leaves a lasting smile. This story may be brief in length, but it’s full of warmth, charm, and emotional depth.

We follow Ritika, a simple, sweet girl who lives with her grandmother (Dadi) after losing her parents at a young age. Her life is peaceful, rooted in routine and familial love, until she crosses paths with Siddharth—her client who soon becomes much more than just a work acquaintance. Their first unofficial date starts with something as mundane as Ritika’s broken-down car, but it sets the tone for a beautifully budding connection that feels authentic and effortless.

What truly stands out in this story is not just the blooming romance between Ritika and Siddharth, but the tender bond between Ritika and her Dadi. The line where her Dadi says, “I need to take care of myself so I can take care of you,” is such a pure, soul-touching moment—it perfectly encapsulates the selfless love of a grandparent. And when tragedy strikes and her Dadi meets with an accident, Siddharth’s unwavering support becomes a quiet but powerful anchor for Ritika, deepening their emotional connection.

Arpita's writing is simple, sweet, and filled with small, meaningful moments that make the story feel personal. If you're in the mood for a feel-good, comforting read that celebrates both romantic and familial love, Brief Encounters is a perfect pick. It reminds us that sometimes the most ordinary beginnings—like a broken car—can lead to the most extraordinary connections.

This little gem of a romance novel was such a sweet and breezy read. It’s an office romance that follows Ritika, a content writer, and Siddharth is her tall, charismatic, and incredibly good-looking new client.

Their first encounter happens in a professional setting, but fate brings them together again later that very night. Ritika’s car breaks down on a deserted road, and while she waits for roadside assistance, Siddharth appears. Concerned for her safety, she asks him to stay, and the two end up passing the time together at a nearby coffee shop.

As their bond deepens, unspoken feelings arise between them. Neither manages to confess , partly because of constant office interruptions, and partly due to the swirling gossip in their workplace. But everything changes when Ritika’s grandmother falls ill. At the hospital, Siddharth shows up to stand firmly by her side, becoming her source of strength. The gesture leaves Ritika deeply moved.

From their first meeting to Siddharth introducing his adorable dog, Leo, the story is filled with moments that make your heart swell. It’s short under 150 pages , yet every scene feels warm and engaging. You can easily finish it in one sitting, and it’s perfect if you’re in the mood for a quick, charming office romance that will leave you smiling and maybe even blushing.

I picked it up thinking it’d be a cute, short office romance and yes, it was short but gosh, it stayed with me. 🥹💭

I loved Ritika. She’s this sweet, hardworking content writer who lives with her Dadi, and there's something so relatable about her simply just doing her thing. And then comes Siddharth... tall, charming, and the kind of guy who doesn't have to do much to steal your attention. I was literally smiling through their scenes like a fool. 😩💕

Their connection builds up so naturally. The night her car broke down and she? My heart just melted. He didn’t do anything dramatic—he just stayed. And honestly, that quiet kind of care hits different. 🥺 Uff, it gave me legit butterflies..

Also don’t even get me started on how Siddharth was there for her when her Dadi fell sick. That moment? He didn’t say much, but the way he showed up? That’s love. That’s care. Sometimes that’s most romantic thing ever. 💗 Also… can we talk about Dadi? 🥺 She reminded me so much of my own grandma.
The writing’s simple, and that’s what I loved. It felt like a friend casually telling me about this guy she’s slowly falling for. 🥰

This is not those dramatic rollercoaster romances. It’s calm. The kind of book which I read on a Sunday afternoon, with a cup of coffee. 🤍

And oh—when Siddharth brings his dog Leo? I MELTED. That was peak cuteness. 🐶✨

This is a sweet and short office romance. Ritika, a hardworking content writer at Hype Media Digital, lives with her Dadi after losing her parents at a young age. Their bond is heartwarming — especially when her Dadi says, “I have to take care of myself to take care of you.”

Things take a lovely turn when she meets Siddharth, her new client — tall, charming, and kind. They cross paths again when her car breaks down, and he stays with her until it’s repaired. What begins as a simple meeting slowly blossoms into something more.

Siddharth may not express love through grand gestures, but his quiet support during her tough times says it all. I especially loved the scene where he brings Leo to meet her — absolutely adorable!

The writing is easy to follow, full of warmth and light-hearted moments. I truly felt the care in how he stood by her during her family crisis.
Highly recommend this one!

I just finished this adorable office romance in one sitting and my heart is so full.

This is the story of Ritika, a sweet & hardworking content writer and Siddharth her charming new client.

What begins with work calls & meetings slowly turns into stolen glances, coffee shop moments & quiet support that speaks volumes.

Siddharth's care for Ritika showed in the simplest and most genuine ways-like staying with her when her car broke down and being there for her during a family emergency. It felt real, soft, and made their bond truly special.

The writing is simple and easy to read, which makes the story feel really comforting. What I loved the most was how naturally their bond grew-soft, steady and full of warmth.

If you're in the mood for a short, sweet lovestory with a bit of office romance, this one's perfect.

Brief Encounters is a 100-page short and cute story. It's really small and can easily be read when you're looking to read something simple and mind-easing.

Ritika is a hardworking content writer taking care of her only family member left her dadi. She is sweet and thoughtful. Her dadi was my favorite character throughout the book. The way she seamlessly blends into this generation, how she supports Ritika and teases her at times, is truly heartwarming. Her dadi telling her, "You don't always need grand gestures and plans. Often it is the simplest of moments making everlasting memories." trust me, reading those simple moments was what truly stole the show in the book.

Our male lead Siddhart is just a sweetheart a pure gentleman. His love for Ritika is gentle and calm. I loved how everything flowed smoothly in this book from their encounters to their first date to getting engaged. Everything moved at a beautiful pace.

One of my favorite moments from the book was Siddhart arranging a date for his dog Leo and Ritika, which then turned into a date of their own. It was truly heartwarming.

The writing is simple and easy to understand.
I would recommend reading it if you like short romance stories with lighthearted moments.

Meet Ritika — a sweet, hardworking content writer at Hype Media Digital. Life takes a delightful turn when she crosses paths with Siddharth...he's her client,he has a charming smile and an even more charming personality.

What starts as simple work meetings slowly blossoms into something more heartfelt.

Siddharth isn't the type to express love with grand gestures, but his quiet support during tough times proves that sometimes, love is found in the little things.

The book has a very soft and easygoing flow.... light-hearted yet warm. While the characters were super relatable, I did feel their emotional connection could’ve been explored a little deeper.

The way Siddharth stood by Ritika during a family crisis it felt like just pure care. I actually swooned a little there!

I really love this book so much 😊

It's a must read book for me😊❤️

This was a very sweet and short romance book. It was a office romance and a story of Ritika and Siddharth
Ritika is content writer and Siddharth is 6feet tall, charming, handsome man, and her new client
After their first meeting in the office, Ritika meets him again on the same night on the road because her car broke down and she was waiting for roadside assistant, and she asked him to wait with her because she was all alone, and it was very dark, and the roads were empty so he waited with her in a nearesr coffee shop
Later, on, when they had feelings for each other, both were not able to confess it because they were either disturbed by the office clients or was not just able to confess it because of all the gossips that was running in the office now when Ritika's Dadi fell sick and she was with her in the hospital Siddharth went there to help her out and to be there and be her support system. Ritika was very touched with this
From the very first meeting to Siddharth bringing his dog, Leo was so sweet and so cute, it literally stole my heart
This book is very short like within 150 pages I guess and you can just read it within one or two hours because it is very cute and very short and very interesting to read and very easy to understand as well so if you are craving for some short office romance, which will make you feel all blushing and all you can surely go for this book .

This was such a sweet and breezy read! The office romance between Ritika and Siddharth had me grinning from the start, but what completely won me over was how gentle and caring Siddharth was, especially when Ritika faced a crisis back home. He SHOWED UP no big gestures, just steady presence and support.

One of my favourite parts? Their Coffee Day outing. Something so simple yet so emotionally comforting. Add to that the cutest grandma ever, who was basically the captain of their ship and connected with Siddharth in the most heartwarming way.

Even though it's a short book (around 100 pages), it never felt rushed. It gave me the perfect weekend read vibe. Plus, when Siddharth had to go away for work and STILL they maintained the love was very comforting.

If you're looking for a cozy, feel-good romance with a soft hero, a supportive family, and genuine emotional warmth this one is for you.

I finished Brief Encounters: Juggling Love, Deadlines, and the Chaos of Corporate Life in just one sitting last night, and it was such a sweet, quick read! At only around 100 pages, it’s the kind of book you can breeze through in an hour, but it still leaves you smiling. Ritika, a content writer at a digital agency, meets Siddharth, a client she never expected to fall for. Their banter is adorable, and the workplace romance vibes are on point. One of my favorite parts was Ritika’s bond with her grandmother, she’s such a wholesome, lovable character, and her line “magic lies in the mundane” really stayed with me.

Siddharth is one of those fictional men who shows his love through steady support, especially during ritika’s toughest times, which made me adore him even more. If you love office romance tropes, charming banter, and heartwarming family dynamics and you’re in the mood for a short, feel-good story, this one is perfect for you.
