Acidic Honey

Rate this book
Her skin tells a story. And tonight, it’s screaming for blood.

Madeline was supposed to stay silent. Be a good girl. Forget the blood, the bruises, the monsters who wore human skin.

Too bad her tattoos had other plans.

They woke up angry and talkative. Now she’s rolling with an inked-up murder squad, each one itching to take down the bastards who broke her. Limbs will fly. Heads will roll. And somewhere in the chaos...

“Oops,” Winnie said. The grin sweetened.. “He looked boring and squishy. Figured I’d help.”

Acidic Honey is a splatterpunk revenge horror drenched in gore, sass, and the unbreakable bond between a woman and her sentient, murderous tattoos.

Not all honey heals. Some of it burns.

That was Fun! I really enjoyed it. This is not my typical genre so i wasn't sure what to except going into it but I'm so glad i gave this a chance! Loved the tattoos they were hilarious and how they came to life to give Madeline the courage she needed to fight back and how they helped her heal. This book was filled with a lot of trauma and tough to talk about topics and as someone who has triggers i really appreciate how this author indicated the triggering chapter so if you needed to you could skip it. That is something that is very helpful for someone like me who wants to enjoy a book but doesn't want to have my trauma dug up haha . This is a short quick read and is very entertaining. I cant wait to read more from this author.

Talk about women revenge and rage

This is my 2nd foray into splatterpunk, and I was very much not disappointed.

I thought it was fantastic and personally thought she went to nice on a few of the guys. Haha

This is the epitome of why you should be careful how much you push someone to try and break them.

Would definitely read more about Mads!

Ps. Pooh and the Hatter were my favorites

I liked this story so much. To say this felt like a fever dream is an understatement in a great way. I don't read many books with darker themes but I'm glad I gave it a chance! The beginning really moved me, I felt like I was in the room where Madeline's monsters came to life. Don't knock a book before you actually read it. The banter between the tattoos was fun to read as well, I laughed so much. I also wish I knew more about our girl Maddie's life at a deeper level. I'm also a fantasy reader and world building is just something I enjoy. Also Daddy Darth is my favorite!! I'm looking forward to more books by this author. Thank you for easing us into your twisted little mind L.Lestrange, I know it's only going to get darker from here

An emotional roller coaster you don't want to end

Darkness has its own way of righting its wrong. Not necessarily becoming the good guy or even the morally gray persona. It breathes life into your self-worth. Tapping into a power that lives in all of us.
Daddy Darth, Alice, Winnie, Cheshy, Hatter, sun & moon, the butterflies. The perfect ride or unalive crew.

I enjoyed what this story was, but I would have liked more. The tattoos were interesting, but I didn’t get much of a feel for Madeline as a person, more than just a hollow, broken being who makes the bad guys pay. I just feel like her story isn’t over. Looking forward to see what Laneie writes next.

Madeline is sick of the BS her mother and her “friends” have put her through, with the drunken nights that her mother let her men take advantage of her to pay off her own debts, they branded her and used her and now it’s time for revenge!

I absolutely ate this book up. Never mess with a woman out to save herself and she will turn vigilante on you and burn the world down to save herself and pluck them off one by one with the help of a few inky friends that encouraged her and supported her.

Pooh was my fav in this story, I loved them all. Looking for a quick read with the ultimate Feminine rage FMC that will no longer take crap from anyone? This is the book for you!

Healing is hard

This covers a topic most only discuss behind closed doors with a professional. Even if the ending leaves you saying WTF the truth is everyone heals differently so there is no best way to end the story. I felt the main characters pain and was cheering her on during her take back of power and truth. The added poems were placed perfectly to add comic relief to a serious subject. Bravo Laneie, I’ll never be able to see those Disney characters the same again.

This was a surprising adventure that I did not realize I would get sucked into. It is a very dark book with dark undertones. I strongly suggest reading the trigger warnings. That being said it was a well written book that flowed well and kept myself engaged. If you like a gory fiction story about retribution, look no farther! I only took off a star due to wanting more at the end.

This is my first time reading a book like this and honestly, it's not my favorite. I didn't want to rate it lower just because it's not my preference. The writing is fine, I liked the tattoo idea, etc. I'm just not a fan of the super dark stuff, I guess. Although if you do like dark books with some humor, you should give it a shot. But maybe check your triggers!

I've never read anything like this before. If you're looking for a unique twist on revenge, give "Acidic Honey" by L. Lestrange a try. It's a quick read with only 97 pages. I absolutely loved the concept of the revenge!

I enjoyed reading this book. It's dark and the revenge felt earned. I felt for the FMC and I could't get over what she's been through. IShe's a survivor and I can only hope she'd learn to live with the heaviness of it all. .

L. Lestrange did amazing for her debut, especially in such a niche genre! Acidic Honey has all the gore you could want, along with feminine rage, and the perfect revenge story!

Check your triggers this one isn’t for everyone! This is a newer genre for me- splatterpunk horror and sentient object. I loved this read and the FMC taking her power back after a terrible attack. 😫😭 Her tattoos come to life and help her seek revenge!!! 💪🏼 💪🏼 Love the tattoos and their banter and personalities!! 🤩

L Lestrange has a creative way of seeing a situation and seeking revenge. This was my first foray into splatter punk/horror/sentient genre. And I am so glad that I did read this and will be reading more books by L Lestrange and others.

Madeline is an unfortunate girl that is sold by her mother to these men for unsavory tasks. Please check the triggers warnings and avoid the section the author tells you if you can noy handle crape situations. But the way the author has Madeline's tattoos come to life and help her seek her revenge on the people who wronged her is amazing and inventive.
