This book is well written combining fantasy and psychological mystery together. It is quite real in its description and keeps the reader engaged but at the same time impacts your mind. It makes the reader think and want to find out more. Readers can relate to the character's desire to want to take a different path and reconsider the decisions that have been made. In reality, we do desire to redo decisions that we have made and dwell on what we could have done differently and wanting to take advantage of more opportunities which afterwards we don't have control to change, but if given the opportunity we would discover more before going forward.
This book is like falling into a dream you almost remember but can’t quite explain. Sandeep Rana serves up a fantasy full of riddles, memory glitches, and moody atmosphere that draws you in as our protagonist finds himself trapped in a strange world when he takes shelter from the rain under a magical tree.
On his journey, expect helpful woodland creatures, including a talking parrot and strange people with frightening morphing faces. Our protagonist surmises the latter were his predecessors, and their fate could become his, lost in a kind of purgatory, which makes him desperate to find a way out before it’s too late.
The author has masterfully woven together elements of surreal fantasy and psychological intrigue, creating a story rich with multifaceted symbolism and a mesmerizing, dreamlike atmosphere. I was drawn into a mind-bending journey where reality and illusion blend seamlessly, and every twist in the narrative uncovers hidden layers and deeper mysteries.
The story’s enigmatic riddle added another layer of complexity and suspense to the experience. Overall, this tale offers far more than escapism.
This book grabbed me from page one with its creepy tree that traps people in a strange loop. The mix of old journals and little puzzles kept me turning pages, and I liked guessing how the roots fit into the story. A few parts drag and the ending leaves some loose ends, but the images still stick in my head and I couldn’t put it down. If you enjoy odd adventure tales that make you think, give this a shot.
I have to say, it's almost like he's gone into his own mind, with its code, its beautiful forest nature, its fears and pleasures. We follow him as he tries to discover the wonders that appear, but sometimes it's not as much a paradise for us readers as it is just wondering where all this will lead. We feel the intense atmosphere and the feelings it elicits in him. Short, intense, interesting.
The author is a word wizard. I loved the descriptions of the jungle, cave and river. But the creepy treehouse with the tree that seemed alive if the fodder for nightmares. Without leaving a spoiler, I wanted a more resolute ending. I wanted the guy to have hope.
Compelling. Engaging. Mysterious. This book delivers it all. Despite its brevity, the story packs a punch, gripping enough to keep you flipping pages with anticipation and wonder. Every chapter leaves you wanting more. And I enjoyed it a lot. Kudos to the author!
