I’m not some damsel in distress, which everyone likes to see me as. I might be beaten down and damaged, but never corner an injured animal.
When my father enrolls me at Lockwood University “for my own good,” I find that life here is way different from life in sunny Florida.
Caesar, Seth, and Sin. They want something from me. They want me broken, begging, but for the life of me, I can’t figure out why. They’re dangerous and have the whole school in their pocket. All I have to do is survive with my already loosely hanging sanity intact.
They make me want to get violent, but that will come at the cost of my education and future. I have to heel and take their aggressions.
I can’t escape their torment,
I’m unsure if I want to.
This book is a standalone why-choose, meaning that the main character will end up with multiple love interests, and some do not shy away from each other either. There is graphic sexual content, bullying, and content that might be sensitive for some readers. Please check the content warnings before reading.
Plot: 3.5/5 • Smut: 3.5/5 ———-> After being assaulted at her school she’s forcibly transferred to Lockwood U. She “meets” the three guys who are out to make her life hell bc they think she has something to do with one of the guys sister disappearing. Harlyn has had a rough life, which the guys don’t seem to know about. As the book continues, one by one the three guys start to fall her for. The last guy, Caesar, takes the longest. And only after being the biggest asshole of all time, does he also fall in line. This ends as a HEA. No cliffy. A nice standalone. The smut is good. We get scenes from all members and group activities. As well as MM scenes between Seth and Caesar.
This was supposed to be a buddy read with 3 chapters per day, but that quickly went out the window when neither of us could control ourselves.
The FMC had gotten into some trouble at her old university, and her father decided to enroll her into the local university in the town where he is the mayor. She despises her parents, and you find out why later in the book. On her first day at her new school, she runs into the three MMCs of Seth, Caesar, and Sin, who make it their mission to make her miserable and see her break. This leaves Harlyn trying to figure out why they hate her and whom she can trust.
I really enjoyed Harlyn. She was determined not to let them see her break. She took everything they threw at her in stride, which drove the boys crazy. Sin is considered the psychopath of the three. He is the one most people are afraid of, and everyone just stays out of his path. Honestly, he was my favorite. Caesar was the leader of their little group. Seth & Sin followed his move and didn't question what he was doing. Seth was somewhere in the middle. You see a softer side at times, but his loyalty to Caesar tends to taint that and leaves him being just as much of a bully, if not more so.
The spice was top-notch. This is the perfect setup for a love triangle. Harlyn finds that she has feelings towards a couple of these guys and is not sure what to do with that, since they are so mean. The things they do to her are horrid. I was angry for her on multiple occasions while reading.
We do get a HEA, which I thoroughly enjoyed and was happy to see. There is a twist at the end which I did not see coming, but it gave the element of surprise.
I would suggest this book for anyone who loves why-choose, bully, and dark academia romance. I look forward to more from this author!
Where do I even start.. ok I’ll start with my favorite.
The character progression in this book was amazing. Not only do the characters grow together but they also grow individually and I absolutely love it!
The dynamic that I thought was going to happen ended up taking me on a roller coaster of emotions, just when you really think you have the character’s personalities nailed down, they end up becoming sooo much better!
There is a quote in the book that made my heart ache, and made me really resonate with the main character. I was already in love with the characters but I just wanted to reach through the pages and grab the FMC in a big hug after I read this. Here’s the quote.
“I start to feel tears burning my eyes as I think of all that could have been if only I were born to a family that cared about me,”
All in all I really loved this book and the characters and truly felt like I could feel the emotion they were conveying through the pages. If you read this you won’t be disappointed!

This book has me enraptured from beginning to the end. Once I started reading I didn’t stop. I was supposed to buddy read this with someone else and that failed epically.
This book is an amazing why chose book. With 3 MMC and 1 FMC. The three morally grey MMC and I absolutely loved all three of them. The FMC is amazingly strong with some issues and insecurities that the MMC help mend at the end.
This book is truly a must read and I am a little bummed that it’s only a standalone book. I would love more of these amazing couples. But honestly it’s amazing on its own too
I had no real expectations going into this book. I was in a reading slump and was prepared to DNF for no good reason…but what a pleasant surprise. I absolutely flew through this. I loved how engaging the story was and the writing was able to draw me in from the start. It was well paced and the characters were fleshed out enough that they aren’t just a copy/paste of each other which sometimes happens in a RH.
What a great read! This book was the perfect "palette cleanser" for me after reading several super dark, depraved books. It had a great plot, great spice & was easy to devour in a single sitting!
I enjoyed this book and how Harlyn dealt with the traumas thrown her way. I'm excited to continue this series and to read how their love story develops! If you enjoy why choose bully romance then this is for you!
