Acquaintances, friends on the fringe

Curio’s mentoring friendship with Galerius is tested & broken by the young man’s poor behavior, which then lead Varro to upsetting choices. The mission to retrieve intelligence takes a chaotic turn, & the hunt for Ione, the fellow agent of whom Varro owes his life, ends badly.
