But Josephine has plans of her own. In an attempt to end the feud with the Wyatts she is prepared to sacrifice herself. What she is not prepared for is the attraction she feels toward Kees who is just as surprised by his feelings for her.
This story is not bad. The problem I have is with consistency. This is book 4 of The Highland Renegades series. I now have read them all and the series has been erratic. For instance book 3 has to do with Malcom Sinclair and Lilian Mason.
It is supposed to continue, instead we have very little of the main characters and we embark on the romance of Kee and Josephine.
I cannot truthfully give it more than a three star, and I am being generous. It is too bad really, the writer has so much potential. I wish this writer would seek out beta readers so that they can critique and help her books be successful.
Highland romances aren't normally my cup tea, but I enjoyed R.L. Styme's romp through Scotland, complete with Scottish lairds, pirates, a handsome Dutchman, and a lass capable of killing a deer. Strong characters make a fun read.
