This is followed by an examination of conscience, where the mortal and venial sins against he virtue are considered. This section is followed by a practical lists of suggestions to help in the practice of virtue. This book sis excellent for the Catholic who is serious about becoming a saint.
Fr. Donald F. Miller, C.Ss.R, was born in Grand Rapids, MI, June 27, 1903; professed at DeSoto, MO, August 2, 1922; ordained at Immaculate Conception Seminary, Oconomowoc, WI, June 12, 1927.
He was professor of philosophy in Immaculate Conception Seminary, Oconomowoc, WI, and rector there (1942-1947). He edited The Liguorian for over twenty years in Oconomowoc, WI, and Liguori, MO. He published over two thousand articles, pamphlets, and books during his life and collaborated with Fr. L. X. Aubin in writing the life of St. Alphonsus. After the amputation of a leg, he continued writing, lecturing, and making himself available to everyone. As one person said: “With his impressive devotion to truth, he was the epitome of the wise man who sees everything in perspective and gives all its proper weight.” He died in St. Mary’s Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Buried along with his three brothers and sister in the Redemptorist Cemetery, Liguori, MO.
