RonniMy entire life revolves around the public view of the Rockville Ice Wolves professional hockey team. For the last few years I have managed events, meet-and-greets, and photo ops for the whole team. Now, I'm tasked with a single managing the team captain, Elliot Moxley, and his PR nightmare. However, he is the biggest pain in my butt and nearly impossible to work with! Sure he's cute, and sometimes he's charming, and has the potential to be boyfriend material...but why is it so hard to keep him in line at work and out of my head off the clock?
ElliotHockey is everything to me, and I just want to keep my contract and captain status with the Ice Wolves. I've been paired up with Veronica Snow, one of our best PR people. I'm hoping she can help me get my reputation cleared before the team boots me. She's smart, easy on the eyes, and doesn't pull punches when she's talking to me. As long as I can keep my nose clean I think we can fix this! The fact that she's perfect for me doesn't play into this at all...
This hockey romance made me swoon and giggle. The romance did not solely rely on the falling in love aspect, it brought in a lot of plot and emotions. In the end I rarely had dry eyes.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 👥 Veronica and Elliot are a lovely couple and their chemistry is amazing. Elliot must be one of my favorite book boyfriends because he's so kind, hot and incredibly good hearted. Veronica surely falls hard but I can understand her very well.
The side characters are a must! This whole book made me feel like I was reading the story of one big lovely family. It's a bit like a found family.
𝗪𝗵𝘆 4 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀? ⭐ I really liked this book. The romance is sweet and the characters are just amazing. I liked reading every page and I cried a few tears. However, as much as the plot had lots of depth, I wished the romance had more aswell. It felt like a slow burn but in the end it turned too fast for me. I would've loved reading 100 pages more of their in depth romance development. This does not take away from the lovely experience whilst reading though!
This book made me giggle. I loved how much of a golden retriever Mox was and how in love he was with Ronni. They were a cute couple through and through
This was a fun quick read. Fast paced. I gave it 3.5 stars.
We meet Elliot and Veronica (Ronnie/Snow Queen). Elliot is a hockey player who finds himself in bad situations. Veronica is in PR for the hockey franchise. She gets assigned to Elliot to fix his latest scandal and repair his reputation after a bad break up. Both have an attraction to each other, but due to their positions, they aren't suppose to have a relationship. Veronica is a little hesitant, and doesn't think it's a good idea. But of course, the pull of Elliot is too strong and she will eventually give in. Nothing is that easy though and they are going to go through some things.
There's some spice. I would say about a 3/5. It's not overly steamy, basically not straight smut. My ONLY complaint is that it was insinuated that Elliot had some darker tendencies in the bedroom. We only explored that slightly with some light BDSM (mostly bondage). I personally would have like to see a little more with that, but it doesn't really take away from the story.
Overall, I enjoyed the book, enough to follow the series and look into more books by this author.
Before I begin this review, let's keep in mind this is one, my first hockey romance, and two, primarily smut, which isn't always my reading preference. I also prefer NOT to have the guy's POV🙈 All things to keep in mind that have nothing to do with Eden's actual writing.
Eden has fantastic potential, and being someone I really care about, has a very unique, strong writing voice.
I liked the character of Veronica Snow best. Sassy, cold, strong, occasionally passionate.
I did have some issues with the pacing and editing in this one. Ex: Ronni/Ronnie, Roby/Robey, El/Ell. The spelling of nicknames changes sporadically throughout. There are also quite a few easily proofread moments.
As for the pacing, the premise is so cool. And yet some of the crucial plot points are given to us in asides or "telling." We're not shown them, which made me very sad!
I personally like a slow burn enemies-to-lovers that gives us those moments where we realize one of them might like the other. Where the love interest is not perhaps as asshole-ish as they appear. It's what keeps us coming back for more. To feed a hunger inside.
The characters of Ronni Snow and Elliot Moxley could have been even stronger in the context of Ronni finding out why Elliot really blocks his schedule (rather than us sort of being told that he told her)... her feeling like he can't open up to her... thus making moments in the third act all the more painful and poignant.
If you like a good hockey romance, a good s3x scene, and a quicker burn and climax, I would recommend this for you!!
Elliot is the hockey captain, and his PR needs a makeover due to some scandals in the press. Veronica is assigned to help improve his image. There’s an attraction but will they cross the line?
Elliot had his secrets, but he really was a softie at heart. I loved him calling her Snow Queen, and how he just wanted to do right by her. Ronnie was feisty when it came to him, and their banter was fun.
This book really set up for future books. I liked the Rockville Ice Wolves world that was the centre of this story. There are lots of side characters I look forward to reading about in the future.
This is a quick and easy book to read, with a touch of spice along the way. There were some parts that were gleaned over quickly which I’d have liked to read more about, but overall a solid read.
I have not devoured a book this fast in so long, it was kind of refreshing. Also being sick may have had something to do with it since I had the last 2 nights off work and spent my time either reading or sleeping.
This book is fast paced but not too fast paced. I loved every minute of Elliot and Veronica's story, but what I enjoyed most is their banter. Banter between 2 main characters is so underrated. Honestly good banter can be the difference between a 4 star read and a 5 star read for me.
Elliot while he had that whole bad boy vibe going, is actually the biggest golden retriever boy ever ESPECIALLY when it comes to Veronica. That man would do ANYTHING for her. He has the biggest heart and the whole Gabriella part of the story was pulling at my heartstrings majorly.
Overall I very much enjoyed this book and regret not reading it sooner.
Veronica Snow, dubbed the ‘Snow Queen’ by none other than Elliott Moxley—captain of the Ice Wolves. Mox, the quintessential jock with a rep that needs serious defrosting, finds his match in Ronni, his PR whiz. Their chemistry? Instantaneous. Their romance? Absolutely off-limits.
The banter between them is as sharp as skate blades, slicing through the tension with humor and heart. And the chapters? They’re like the best kind of espresso shots—short, strong, and keep you buzzing through the pages.
Sure, the miscommunication trope might have you rolling your eyes, but the heat between the sheets and the fluffiness of their budding romance will have you melting faster than ice in spring. And the HEA? It’s the cherry on top of this romantic sundae.
What a series intro! Last week I posted a thread asking for authors to drop their books if they are cool with my gushing all over their dms with my live gif reactions. Ms. Eden Knox tossed her book at me and ran away… she didn’t need to run. If you’re a hockey romance girlie… the vibes in this one are elite. Elliott is a cinnamon roll that falls hard for the PR girl tasked with rehabbing his image. Veronica is hot and bothered but over his antics. She teaches him to communicate he teaches her to be less serious. This baby has everything from found family, single dad adjacent (he’s a doting uncle), workplace, and some good vanilla fun with just a splash extra. She was a fun quick read. Toss me in the sin bin too because I can’t wait to see who comes next.
This was light and sweet and fast paced. The plot was pretty simple, classic forced proximity romance. It was also a secret relationship between a player and pr agent but it was one everyone could see. Ronni and Elliot got together pretty quickly and broke up pretty quickly as well. It did take quite a bit for the reconciliation, there was a lot of stubbornness on both parts. Both characters had bad communication skills and that played into the plot a lot and furthered their issues. The spice wasn’t closed door but the door was cracked 😄 there wasn’t anything explicit or descriptive but it also wasn’t cut to the next day. There was a sick child in the story but it wasn’t heavy or dark.
I'll give this a 4. This was my first hockey romance. It was very cute and had me hooked from the beginning, and I couldn't figure out why until I thought about it: the two main characters are very real and immediately likeable. Even Mox with all his party boy stuff, because it stops right away after some drama happened (prior to the book starting).
The chemistry between Ronni and Mox was a little unnatural at first, but because it kept going, eventually it seemed more likely and realistic. Aside from some grammatical and past/present tense errors, it's a very cute story.
I won't give anything away, but my favorite parts were chapter 15 and everything in the last 10 chapters.
I picked up this sweet book on a Book Crawl in Dayton Ohio a few months back at a locally owned store.
The banter between Mox and Ronni is so fun. I am a sucker for a good push and pull relationship. Ronni's no nonsense attitude gave her grit and heart at the same time. And Mox playing the bad boy and still rolling over for her like a "golden retriever" suits his character.
If you are looking for a easy read with just a touch of spice this is the book for you. It gives all the feels.
I'm picky about sports romance, especially hockey because I've been a fan for a long time. This book did not disappoint. I loved the characters and the story was fantastic. The author understands the sport. And no locker room spice time that makes you cringe over the smell we all know is there. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series.
Beneath the surface, Moxley cares deeply about his family, friends and career. What he shows to the world is a carefree player, who cares about nothing but a good time. When Ronni is tasked with cleaning up his public persona, their relationship forces him to face what he wants and needs to do to be better. A sweet romance that makes you root for Moxley to get his HEA.
This book was good! I really enjoyed the characters and I like the set up in this book for the second one. I thought Mox was a really sweet character and I liked Ronni's sass! I thought the pace was good, and the structure was really easy to follow.
This was a cute, funny, quick read. I picked it up at a book signing at my local bookstore, and it did not disappoint! A hockey romance with spice🌶🌶🌶 I loved both the characters and can't wait for the next in the series as I noticed a couple of "Easter eggs" planted!!!
OK, I had no idea what I was getting myself into with this book, but I’m glad I did. Now I’m really really involved in the story and I’m ready for the next book.
If you are into thriller style excitement novels, this is a great option.
Super cute and fun love story. This is actually my first sports romance and I was pleasantly surprised how much I loved it. I enjoyed the dual POV and the twists in the story. Can’t wait to read book 2!
I loved the MFC right from the start and how she stays true to herself through the whole book was amazing. The MMC starts off a whole love/hate but I love how he grows through the book. I would definitely recommend this Ronni and Elliot are great. I got booked too as soon as I finish this one.
This was a sweet ice hockey romance. I enjoyed the development of Ronni and Mox's relationship. I especially liked that Ronni called Mox on his crap and had a backbone. Definitely a good read.
I definitely enjoyed this book. Good amount of drama, not over the top. A good level and amount of spicy. A touching story. Can't wait for the next one.
This is a cute and spicy hockey romance. Elliott "Mox" Moxley is the Ice Wolves "bad boy" player, or is he? After a break-up, his ex tried to ruin him by selling their private moments. To stay on the team, he is placed in PR lockdown. In comes Veronica "Ronnie" Snow aka the Snow Queen. Her job is to clean up the PR nightmare and keep Mox's job. Hard as Ronnie tries not to fall for Mox, yet she sees the good in him. If you want a cute and spicy tale, this is it!
