Lollipops. Toys. Cash. Sex.

Leilani's job is more addicting than sugar. It's her drug. She might look meek and too young to be a college student, but she’s a naughty girl with a dirty secret.

Leilani grants fantasies. When a request comes in, Leilani dons her pseudonym "Lollipop" and transforms into a high school cheerleader, a dominating cat girl, or even a sweet little Victorian girl who loves candy and ice cream.

Her business satisfies her lust, pays just enough for college tuition, and always draws her back, despite the abuse that torments her afterward.

But when a gorgeous classmate finds out and urges her to stop, Leilani's first fear isn't getting kicked out of college. She's terrified that she might give up her primal lust for genuine intimacy.

Warning: Contains strong language, graphic violence, implied pedophilia, dubious consent, and disturbing situations.

All characters are over the legal age of consent.

After I finished reading Licking Lollipops I was left with conflicting emotions. I am still not one hundred percent sure how I feel about this book. If you have problems reading descriptive sex, torture, abuse, rape enslavement, and implied pedophilia I would stay far away from this book. It is definitely not for you. Don’t get me wrong, this book is about more than the things listed above but if you have a problem with those you will not get the overall message of this book.

Marami Hung created a well written story about one girls journey from a dark past, to coping the only way she could, to finally finding her voice, and learning to express her emotions a healthy and safe way. This book touched on some subjects that could have been too hard to get right. But you can tell Marami did the research and poured all of her time and effort into this book and it shows. The book was done well and pretty tastefully.

Leilani is a prostitute. There is no other word for it. She has a website where men and women can request fantasies and she fulfills them. Leilani uses this money to pay for her college, crappy apartment, and the clothes she uses as costumes. When she meets Kamesh she starts to feel guilty for the jobs she goes one. He urges her to quit but the jobs keep pulling her back. Until one night, one job, she might not have the chance to escape from.

Let me start by saying this. The book was well written and the story was interesting enough that I finished it in one night, but this wasn’t a story for me. For some reason I just couldn’t get all the way invested. I can’t even really put into words why. The sex scene were done well and they were definitely hot and steamy. (some of them) I think part of it is that Kamesh really didn’t play as big of a part as the synopsis leads you to believe. The book is primarily focused on the sex and not the relationships that Leilani has.

Overall I think that people could really get into this book but it just wasn’t for me.

After finishing the final page of Licking Lollipops, I can honestly say I was overcome with a wash of conflicting emotions. For anyone that is unable to handle descriptive scenes of torture, abuse, rape and enslavement, then this is a novel I strongly insist you stay away from. I am not in anyway suggesting that Licking Lollipops is purely about these things but it is about a young girl's journey from darkness, to coping the only way she knows how, and then to finding her voice. It is about self discovery, a novel very exceptionally well written by Marami Hung, especially given this is her first published novel, and if this is the quality of her work now, then I am very interested in reading any and every one of her future works to come! She has taken on such a mammoth task in tackling such a large range of topics that with just one wrong word here or there would have ruined it all completely, but she must have researched and researched for this novel, poured blood sweat and tears into it in order to get it right, in order to create Leilani and get her perfectly!

Leilani is at college taking courses in order to fulfil her dreams in costume design, but while she does this by day, by night she has a job that pays the bills but has her changing her name......one that indulges her costume dreams; Cosplay (Sexual role-play using costumes). She becomes Lollipop a woman who has her own website online and advertises herself like a goodie bag full of sweet candy where you can tick off what you want via the shopping cart for her services. We meet Lollipop first at the beginning of the novel right in the middle of a "session" where she is really enjoying herself with a coach and she is his cheerleader, you see Leilani is small in height and young in looks so she is able to pass for a much younger age even though she is legal - this is her appeal to these men, she is able to grant their fantasies, their every wish - this is what keeps her booked and enough money to stay in college. In all throughout the novel you can see she really enjoys sex and some of the scenes between her and her clients during their Cosplay adventures are pretty steaming hot!! She keeps a diary at home of when she is going to meet someone, who she is going to meet (even if it is a fake name they have given) where they are going to be so should she ever go missing or anything happen to her because even though she knows she enjoys her work, it's still a dangerous game........

Kamesh Gupta is an actor taking lessons at the same college as Leilani, he also works in the local coffee shop (TPR Cafe) where she goes to study. He notices her when no one else does, not for her body, he notices her for her. What begins with Leilani trying to gain insider information on the costumes that are worn in Macbeth because he is staring in it and she needs the inside scoop in order to spend time with a "client". they strike up a conversation and he realizes that she has very little money and even offers to see if he can try and get a job for her there at the cafe. He gives her a ticket to see the show so that she get a first hand look at the costumes, this is just one of the first acts of kindness that he shows her. After a freak incident and one hell of a weird ass night Kamesh and Lailani bump into each other and he discovers her secret - her double life crashes apart - can their tentative friendship survive her revelations about who she is and what she does for a living!

All the while there is MUCH more going on here than it seems, the twists and turns within this novel are astounding and will have you gripped from page 1! I do not want to give away any spoilers here, so it is actually very difficult to say any more other than Licking Lollipops by Marami Hung deserves every one of those 5 ***** Stars I award her for her ingenious, innovative, awe-inspiring and spectacular novel!!

Review:

I loved the opening scene. It was so hot and very detailed. She may be described young but she is most definitely an adult.

Leilani reminds me of the coordinator/owner of the Make a Wish foundation. She grants fantasies. My. Oh. My. Those fantasies are good and wanted all the time. There is after all a list to obtain her services. Lollipop is very popular and has a great client base.

As she initiates further advancement with her career as Lollipop, a classmate discovers what she does and is determine to have her leave this job. Now, is this a job I could do? Maybe. But I do not know if I would be as business savvy, organized, or as creative as Lollipop.

This is the first book were I read about cosplay which I learned was short for costume play. Lollipop is the master of this play.

Though her peer wants her to end the job the Lollipopin’ job, she has known for years, she is unsure of this decision. This job pays for her education and makes her feel alive. Education and an orgasm, I mean who doesn’t want that revenue Cumming in? LOL.

Overall, I enjoyed the idea of the book; well, it was a different kind of storyline for me. The characters were well rounded and well developed. I was very content with it being a short read. I learned that people have all finds of fetishes and the idea of costume play was new to me by how they presented it in the story.

Seriously, we have all dressed up, role played, and ran it scripted. I just thought that was called foreplay. LOL.

Happy reading.

Leilani was not your typical Univerisity freshman, as a matter of fact nothing of her was typical. Not her childhood, nor the way she lives her life.

Leilami job was one where she had to keep it on the hush, hush. She had a web page that advertise her kind of work. She knew if someone from school would find out she would be ruined since her line of work was prostitution. She was not your simple call her. Leilami's helped growned man and woman lived out their fantasies.

When her secret is discovered by one of her classmates, they form a bond of friendship that she was very comfortable and allowed her to share her horrific past and the reason she can't stop working and admits that she is addicted to sex and ther thriller, until her finds herself in a life or death situation in the hands of the person she least expected.

When you read this book, please have an open mind. Always remember that the characters are ficticious and they are concenting adults.

I am not sure what to say about this book. It was interesting, the sex scenes were hot for the most part. I have several things I didn't like about it personally, but I think overall it just wasn't up my alley as a favored read.

Please do not let that turn you away if this is your type of read it was well written and a very interesting book. The story-line was intriguing and I'm sure that it will be very successful.

Leilani is addicted to sex, her addiction is what led her to her most guarded secret; she grants fantasies... for a price. She loves what she does, most of the time, and the money pays for her college education, so win-win right? Even though it's not exactly legal, as long as she doesn't get caught everything will be just fine. But when a classmate discovers her secret, and tries his hardest to convince her to find another job and get out of her current line of work, Leilani is afraid of losing more than the money she is making, she's terrified of losing the thrill she gets from feeding her addiction. In the end, the decision may be taken away from her when she discovers that some people are not what they seem.

Oh, prostitution was illegal in all states except for Nevada? Oops. I guess I should've transferred there for college. What was I saying about breaking the law again...?

I'm still kinda on the fence with this one. It was short and to the point, the sex was hott and we cover just about everyone's preferences; role play, girl on girl, threesome... you get the point. But other than that, I wasn't in love. I had a hard time connecting with any of the characters and at about the seventy percent mark the book takes an unexpected violent turn. But if your simply looking for a short, steamy read than you will probably enjoy this; just be prepared for the turn of events, it took me a by surprise a little bit and the ending seemed kinda abrupt. But for a debut novel, it was still a decent read. I liked it enough that I will look for more from this author in the future to see what she brings us next.

“So you're in college for that, right? To try to get an actual career so you won't have to keep doing this?”
“I'm still gonna have sex.”
“No one said you have to stop enjoying sex.”
“Why are you so eager to help me, anyway?”
“I just don't think you're in a good position, and I think I could help you out.”

Leilani "Lollipop" is a college student trying to make it on he own. She is fresh out of high school and attending college, which she is paying for out of pocket. The only way that she thinks she can make money is doing the one thing that she is doing. So she figures she might as well get paid for having sex. So she does just that. Nobody at school knows what she does to make money until one night, she runs into a classmate, Kamesh, after an unfortunate accident with a client and some of her belongings fall out of her bag. Once he knows her secret they become friends and she starts crushing on him. But her real fantasy is her writing professor, James Samson. But her new friend is trying to convince her give up this line of work. And when she is almost ready to, she gets a new client that she can't pass up or so she thinks. Will this be her last client?

This boo was okay. This book is not the faint of hearts. If you are not into BDSM and/or really rough and extreme sex then this book is not for you. There are part in this book that I thought was a bit much. My recommendation for this book is if you are into really hardcore BDSM erotica go for it. But if you are not then don't read it.
