Heart of My Monster

Rate this book

I feel so empty 😭 What am I supposed to do with myself now that kirillsasha are done??! They have been fueling MY LIFE. How am I supposed to just leave them 😭

I fucking LOVED this book. We got the angst. We got the tension. We got the SWEETNESS 😫 And we got Sasha walking this man like a mfing dog 🦮💅
It was what he deserved after keeping her in the dark.

I feel like we got to see a whole other side of Kirill in this book. He was so fucking whipped and obsessed with his "beautiful wife" as he constantly calls her. He legit let her shoot him 🤩 Man was/is down bad. He was SUFFERING while she was gone and he did not come back to life until he saw her. We love to see it 😍

Sasha my queen was AMAZING. Seeing her be the woman she always wanted to be and seeing her be so free was so heartwarming. I wish I could just wrap that girl up in a blanket and just cuddle her forever.
Kirill would not like that idea, but too bad sir. She's mine.

This is one of those books that I will NOT hear criticism about. I don't care what anyone has to say- this was PERFECTION

Also Anton & Maks
Kristina & Kosta
Karina & Viktor
I SEE ALL YOU 👀👀

This series is actually a great example why you shouldn’t write three books in a span of five months.

I will never forgive Rina, or most probably her ghostwriter, for making Kirill a Pakhan, he was barely mentioned in the previous books and now he is a leader? Stupid. The whole "Rai is a woman." so she can’t be a Pakhan, made me so angry that I wanted to throw my kindle across my room. The misogyny I- no comment actually. It's just sad considering it was written by a woman.

Not to mention this sentence.

"The scene is straight out of some Middle Eastern war."

I have no words, but at the same time it doesn't surprise me after Rina compared her heroine to Hitler in one of her books.

It’s finally the end of monster trilogy era so Brandon and Niko, and Damien and Mio come home soon, preferably now. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎

congratulations to Kirill Morozov for being the WORST Rina Kent hero to date 🙏🏻

don’t be so humble either because that is no small feat, you had some serious competition. but you managed to beat them all, and doing it with so much cringe???

description

at least some of the other fuckwits RK has written have something we like to call ✨self awareness✨

but not Kirill🌚 he can do no wrong in his eyes. it was so infuriating to read how he constantly refused to understand or sympathise with anyone else, especially his WIFE! yes you read that right Kirill has a WIFE, in case you didn’t know because he never really mentions it??

the 65 times he said it weren’t clear enough for me<3 my brain was already on suicide watch by the half way mark, so i forgot that Sasha was in fact his wife so thanks so much babes for reminding me xoxox

description

but in all seriousness, it was truly one of the things i hated about the book— whenever Sasha actually voices a concern or an insecurity, anything painful she’s experienced (99% of the time this is at the hands of Kirill or as a consequence of one of his many selfish actions)... he just ignores it, makes fun of her or manages to make it about himself. at the end of the last book we see him locking her in a cage, lying about not marrying Kristina and declaring his engagement in front of Sasha and the whole Bratva without ANY heads-up. she was completely blindsided.

comparatively, whenever Sasha did something to upset him, he acted so infuriated with her, wanting her to “beg” for forgiveness and would manipulate her to do his bidding... the man even pins her down and forces her to have a tracker inserted into her arm against her will and didn’t even see any type of issue with this 🌚💀

like we love a protective hero and all but his level of delusion was unprecedented. he truly lived in his own world, living by his own rules and standards while everyone else was a pawn in whatever political games he was playing.

even Sasha was a pawn to him— you can’t convince me he loved her. she was a possession and nothing more... hell must have frozen over for me to be pitying poor Sasha who is married and procreated with this man.

its wild because i started the series loving Kirill and constantly making fun of Sasha, it was my favourite past time while reading the previous books— like her throwing herself down the stars to distract Kirill so he doesn’t ruin his birthday surprise party. that was comedy gold. but the gradual decline of this series was truly a humbling experience so i will thank Rina Kent for keeping me on my toes and never failing to call me a dumb bitch each time i pick up her latest release hoping this time will be different.

i never learn👹

Sasha should have low-key died so that Kirill could spend the rest of his boring, nasty ass life alone drowning in perpetual misery. the downfall of his character is one for the ages, a new chapter in the history books... goodbye goodbye you could have been bigger than the whole sky<3

his was just so godamn awful in every sense of the word— Rina tried to make him funny by making him jealous of the gay man Sasha is best friends with, the women that Sasha was beginning to become friends with, of Kristina... that poor poor soul😭😭😭😭 she has been treated like a commodity, handed around the men of the Bratva like pass the fucking parcel and she was actually such a sweetheart. but RK made Kirill treat her like shit for comedy value while constantly making fun of her, calling her a “robot” on a regular basis.

description

hello Pot, i would be delighted to introduce you to the fucking Kettle over here

he was even cruel about his own niece calling her “stupid” (she is 18 months old, fyi) and getting annoyed because “she likes to behave like a child.” just to reiterate, she is 1 and a half years old🌚
he didn’t even seem to like his own kid either. but all of it was written like i should find it funny. the humour was incredibly forced, the try-hard energy made me wince the whole time.

and don’t get me started on his crinegy godawful inner monologue. seriously what in the Office was this??? him breaking the fourth wall to directly talk to the reader like he’s Fleabag was so bizarre and out of character for him. she really turned him into a caricature villain (despite him being the ‘hero’) with his godawful one liners and long-winded monologues. one of my friends said he had Doofenshmirtz energy and im so sorry to Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz of Evil Incorporated of the Tri-State Area... you have more character depth in that big ass chain of yours than Kirill had in this entire trilogy and i mean that with the upmost sincerity i am genuinely not being satirical whatsoever.

Kirill was just embarrassing. he was the epitome of weird loser behaviour, i have no other way to describe it🧍

for example, when Sasha returns home him but hates his guts (rightfully fucking so, might i add) she expresses constantly she wants space and for him to back the fuck off. it’s a very clear imperative, is it not? you’d think so😅

not for Kirill though. that man only hears whistling between his ears because that brain of his is nowhere to be found.

THE FIRST NIGHT SHE IS BACK, SHE WAKES UP WITH HIS BUTT NAKED ASS ALL UP IN HER BUSINESS I WAS FLABBERGASTED. BAMBOOZLED. DISCOMBOBULATED. ADDLED. I AM UNWELL, i—

Our fronts are glued together, and the thing that’s poking my stomach? It’s his erection.
Oh, and one more thing.
He’s naked.
What gives him the right to touch me? Hold me as if he owns me?
How dare he?

description

she asks for space and he’s just got his cock out. it really does sum up their relationship just exquisitely.

like i said earlier, RK has written some fucking freaks in her time as an author, but the majority of them have some semblance of self-awareness whenever they’ve fucked up. usually not a lot of grovelling involved, but we get a bit of remorse and self-pity for about 15 seconds... for Kirill, that was never an option <3

his attempts at humour really felt like some sort of demonic alien trying to mimic what he thinks is human behaviour after observing civilisation for a short period of time so he can blend in with the general public.

bring back funny psychopaths!! Zade Meadows, Carter Mahoney, Lorenzo Gambini come back and show this basic ass bitch how funny real psychos can be because this was just a desolate attempt.

description

the ONE saving grace for me with this book were the side characters/couples— AntonMaks you will always be loved by me, where is their full length book i am SO serious 😩 i know RK is dipping her toes into mm with NikoBran let’s gooooo.

then Kristina and Konstantin were so cute, loved how she finally for the life and love she deserved after everyone treating her like a sack of shit. Konstantin is the superior Morozov, i don’t make the rules.

we didn’t even get AdrianLia crumbs like wtf ???? what did i do to deserve this 🥸 but the minimal Adrian cameos we did get served CUNT, served REALNESS:

”At least my wife is with me, unlike yours, who seems to already have one foot out the door.”

Kirill needs to learn a thing or two from Adrian— you can still be the possessive unhinged alpahole type and still be complex, endearing and easy to root for. Kirill didn’t get the memo. it must have been sent by carrier pigeon and is still in transit.

ohhh and the plot twist

description

this

”Ahhh.” He laughs almost mockingly. “Fuck. It actually feels good that I can finally drop the annoying mask.”

was a real fucking quote from this book revealing the age-long question of “who murdered Sasha’s family??” when i tell you i was pissing myself laughing at this point— i was DERANGED. i could feel my right eyeball twitching as i texted my friends about the shit show i was watching unravel. it was SO cartoon villainy, truly no attempts at nuance or seriousness.

honestly, throughout this whole experience i felt some sort of telepathic connection to Rina Kent, a portal between our minds where i would just talk directly to her asking her how tf did you get out of your straight jacket to write this???

description

she truly never ceases to amaze me with each new release and i truly mean that in the most derogatory way possible.

tbh, reading this passively... it’s not the worst shit RK has ever written. but this is three books worth of pent up aggression on my part, there’s only so much of Kirill’s delusional narcissistic arse that a girl can handle while she’s writing her dissertation and pissing blood to graduate.

although, having said all this rambling bullshit, i haven’t written a review of my own volition for so long. thank you to RK for writing something so alarmingly unhinged that my thumbs were just TWITCHING to unleash the dark thoughts inside my head. especially one of this vitriol passion.

this book stripped me of my sanity. my dignity. my humility... i am a shell of the woman i was when i first started this book.

now i am alone with my thoughts

description

contemplative. tired. in need of rehabilitation. all that i have to comfort me is tanaz’s voice note of her screaming for ten seconds straight after she finished this.

she is screaming into the abyss. i am staring into it.

Yea, you know what...I'm outtie.

Reading this series is like being stuck in a limbo. Nothing has changed.

➥Sasha is still the worst heroine I've ever read
➥Kirill turned into a clown in a span of 2 books.
➥These two had the same empty conversations on repeat, which I noticed Rina writes for most of her couples.
➥ Once upon a time I said that the research was okay. I take it back. I hope kent never writes russian characters again. She probably thinks if we don't bathe in vodka two times a day our bodies would simply combust into a million siberian snow flakes🙄
➥I called all the twists.
➥The cringe was cringing

But unlike the previous books, this had one major development...it was boring as hell.

So after reaching about the halfway mark, something profound has occurred to me. I looked up to the sky and thought.......why am I doing this to myself? And that's the story of the first time I put my mental health first😌

I almost finished this trilogy. Now I can peacefully forget about it.

PS: I liked one thing: Kirill losing his head after Sasha "died". Mans fulfilled all my dreams, going full out by hallucinating the heroine and planning his suicide to JOIN HER🤣✊🏼 it went downhill when he didn't go through w it💔

What a shitty end to the series.

“She wants to kill me the next time she sees me? By all means. Anything for my beautiful wife.”

“I won’t. I mean it. You can shoot my other arm and I will walk to you. If you take my legs, I’ll crawl to you.” “Are you crazy?” “When it comes to you? Possibly.”

This series isn't particularly good but I can't stop reading it.... book 3 here we go.

how did this series truly get worse with each fucking book.

i love myself a mafia anti-hero, but rina kent truly only ever writes horredndus fucking villains worse than goblins themselves.

i truly forgot what even happened (aside from sasha taking back kirill by imagining his fucking dick, and kirill being an absoutle nightmare) in this book because it was THAT boring.

the plot could've been written better by a 13-year-old, because what the absoulte fuck was it. the plot was all over the fucking place and did not make an ounce of fucking sense, and when it did make sense it was god fucking stupid.

i am not an idoit so please stop writing idiotic books that make me want to boil my face off.

sasha and kirill were BORING. they were just plain simple fucking boring. i would have loved sasha if her only personality wasn't being blonde and stupid xx.

again why the fuck isnt ria getting the postion of pakhan, she's the fucking bloodline. the misogony is being shown, she should be the one to have that position, because then why make her so powerful? also i do not fucking understand kirills position in the mafia, because he seems so fucking irrelevant.

the only things i trult liked in this book were anton/maksim, wish there were more moments of them because i would have happily read about them.

also karina and viktor would be ADORABLE, if only rina kent wrote them correctly.

i do have more to say about this book but im blanking right now on everything i hated.

_____________

theories: 🪟
(spoilers from book 2)

- the attack at the end of the book wasn’t kirill, it was his mother.
- kirill married the girl to gain his position because he is cunning like that. but the certificate to the marriage is either fake or there’s a due time for the marriage (the 6 months he mentioned)
- yuri/anton is likely a villain, who is trying to gain power and get unhinged revenge. he is teamed up with the bitch of a mother, and is using sasha for her own revenge.
- if not that^, then sasha’s grandmother is the one who killed the family and is attacking sasha to make mike the heir.
- kon (kirill’s brother who’s name is too fucking long) and kirill’s fiancé, kristina, like each other and have an affair going on.

i fucking need kirill on his fucking knees begging sasha.

i want a redemption arc for kon ✊

*why the fuck is ria not getting the position of boss, she’s the fucking bloodline. im so fucking annoyed that a man still has power.

—————————

SASHA AND KIRILL ARE MARRIED IN THIS BOOK. IM GOING CRAZY.

kirill wears glasses, DO YOU KNOW HOW HOT THAT IS.

i am BEGGING for scenes of sasha beating the ever fucking shit out of men, because they dont deserve to be on this planet.

Are Rina's books exactly like drugs to me? Yes. There are very few authors whose entire work I absolutely love and she is one of them.

I cannot believe this trilogy is over. So many of my theories panned out but there were a few of the right theories with some tweaks that I did not see coming.

We start this book right off with a massive look back on the day that changed Sasha's life forever. The massacre ended almost her entire family. It was graphic and very detailed so please be careful when reading, her cousins, her mom/dad, everyone died in gruesome ways.

Right after that prologue we are thrusted into the moment Kirill is standing at the altar with Kristina, and what we get is an epic plan coming together. He masterminded something that I don't think anybody else could ever achieve. He knew, HE KNEW, he would not be marrying Kristina. Not because he would back out or feel bad about Sasha but because it was never his plan to marry her. He only went this far to provoke his brother (Kristina's love) who step forward and finally be by her side BUT to also manipulate everyone in the brotherhood to see he was never in the wrong and was the one that was jilted lol

All that planning and instead of marrying her, Konsta married her that day instead and Kirill was named Pakhan. Everything was working out the way he wanted it, and instead of having Sasha be away for the original 6 months planned, he said 3 months would be enough now and he could have HIS WIFE finally at his side.

''At this rate, I'll get back to my actual wife sooner than I previously calculated.''

Imagine his absolute shock when Viktor informs him that there was a bombing, they go and they find a charred body with her wedding ring and the bracelet he gave her on the corpse and the DNA results come back to Sasha. Kirill goes through the absolutely worst spiral I think we see in Rina's books. He truly believes her dead and more than that, he believes he is the main reason she is gone. He gets drunk every night at her grave, he sees no light and literally wishes to die to join her.

Kirill is not interested in anyone or anything during those two months, he is truly haunted and the thought of someone else never crosses his mind since he is adamant on finding her killer and later joining her in death.

''If I die, will I be able to join you?''

He is haunted by her ghost. It's really heartbreaking to watch his entire world explode and turn into ashes. He knows he messed up, but he never thought the ending would be her death. You can see his absolute love for her during the chapters where her death lingers. He believes she is dead for two months and those two months we get the unfiltered deranged Kirill. He goes on rampage after rampage to find her killer to no avail. Not only is she missing but so are Maksim and Yuri aka Anton (Sasha's older brother).

''If the only light in my life was taken away, how dare they keep theirs?''

We finally get Sasha's present POV, and we find her in Russia with her uncle, grandma, cousin, and Anton. She is suspicious of Anton and where he goes where she follows one day to a cabin and there, she finds Maksim hanging. She convinces her brother to let him down and stop this madness. They keep him there for a while and things are revealed.

1) Anton reveals that Maksim had a crush on Sasha (as a guy) which confirms the theory that Maksim is gay
2) The original Yuri was killed YEARS ago when the ''accident'' happened to him and Anton went through surgery to change his looks a bit to match, colored his hair, voice changing etc.

Sasha is absolutely heartbroken over Kirill's betrayal, she wants him dead, and vengeance is all she sees. She refuses to even believe he cared or loved her. She planted the dead body after the explosion to make it look like she died to hurt him or fuck with his head BUT believed that once the DNA was done, he would know she was not dead.

Well, someone fucked with the results, right? You can take a few guesses on who it was but more on that later.

Sasha is opposed to her families plan to kill everyone in Kirill family and refuses to approve the plan, instead she releases Maksim secretly and sends a message. She will speak with Kirill alone to finish this once and for all.

When Maksim shows up and informs Kirill that his wife is not dead that was the moment he was brought back to life. He is angry and absolutely enraged that she faked her death, but he is also happy to know his light is alive.

Honestly their reunion was the only thing I wish was different. I wanted her to make a big entrance as a woman and have everyone be completely shocked BUT we find out that Kirill had Viktor basically inform the world that Sasha was a woman and his wife - which I wish we could have had a better look into this, but we don't get everything we want. Right Kirill? haha

They are back in each other’s orbits, and it feels like no time has gone by. They are just crazy and protective about each other than ever before. You can see Sasha struggle with her feelings and her need to keep his safe throughout their initially reunion but let’s also acknowledge SHE SHOT HIS ARM haha

During this entire exchange Kirill tries to make her believe him about not marrying Kristina, not wanting her family dead, and never attempting to hurt her or causing the bombing. She has a hard time believing him but slowly doubts herself when she goes back to his home and sees Kristina, pregnant and happy but all her doubts come crashing down when Konsta is revealed to be the husband and father revealing Kirill never married her and actually brought them together.

He only sent Maksim to Russia to find her family to open a line of communication.

These two have got to get their communication skills to a better level and what better way to do that than to take her to a secluded cabin for weeks and reignite their fire for each other?

''I'll have no other wife but you''

They spend those weeks, talking and fucking. So much more is revealed during this time:

1) Anton is in love with Maksim, and they are sleeping together - while still fighting
2) Sasha believes that Kirill has nothing to do with the massacre or anything related to the events over the last few months
3) Sasha is showing signs of pregnancy (that she is oblivious to, but the readers must see)
4) Kirill hates Christmas, while Sasha hates it for it reminds her of the day her family died but for her, he will do everything to make Christmas happen and be a happy memory once again, even wearing matching Christmas sweaters.

''I prefer being in a fucked-up coexistence with him than being happy without him''

Once they are back home things are progressing in the sense, we are getting closer to finding out wo the traitors are, who caused the massacre etc.
My original guess from the previous books is that it's Albert and possibly the grandma working together but what we get first is Konstantin’s possible betrayal when Kirill is shown proof that he was the one that requested Sasha be killed in the bombing.

Did I believe this? No
Did Kirill? I think he initially did but then the puzzle pieces came together, and he played the world with how he handled the betrayal, all to get the real ones out of the dark corners they linger.

First off before we move forward - Sasha is confirmed 15 weeks pregnant and it happened before she fled from the cabin, they are having a boy and before we ask why she didn't notice her bump, it's because she did not have one and she has a smaller bump throughout her pregnancy.

And also, I need to mention the funniest interaction between Damien/Adrian and Kirill, they were playing with Damien about his upcoming marriage and how the wife is the winner, and the husband needs to lose to keep her.

''This is fucking confusing. I'm gonna win. End of Story.'
''Too new'' I tell Adrian.
''Too inexperienced'', he replies

Now back to the traitors and how it plays out.

Kirill has proof he finds from his father about what occurred that day. He gathers everyone that needs to realize the truth and the ones he needs to expose in one location (in the pretense that they think they successfully kidnapped Sasha/Viktor). He shows up by himself and presents all the proof to show the grandmother and Sasha that he had nothing to do with anything, it was all Yulia and Albert.

How? Well - Yulia previously revealed she had a lover outside of her marriage because her husband was brutal and raped her every time, they had sex which resulted in Kirill and Karina being born (which is why she hates them and wishes them dead) but Konsta was born from her love, and who was that? Anatoly aka Sasha's Uncle was also killed that day. He and Yulia had an affair for year every summer she went to Russia for holiday. Eventually Anatoly broke up with her when his wife got pregnant and she was set out for vengeance, told her husband that she had a lover to provoke him to kill them all but who helped her give Roman all the plans and infiltration information? Albert.

Imagine the grandmothers shock when Albert turns around and laughs his crazy ass about how he struggled for years to keep himself looking innocent. Going on a rant about how he wasn't loved enough, and mommy didn't choose him a good wife, so he killed his whole family and only kept her because of her influence etc.

Was I shocked? No. The only thing that was shocking was WHO she had the affair with because I thought it would have been Albert, but Yulia has loose screws, so she just had to fuck with everyone’s life. She killed the father of her favorite child and also poisoned Roman for years before he died. She was also the one who forged the DNA results.

Albert dies right after he kills his mother. Yulia is shot and ends up in a coma but dies 2 weeks later, Maksim gets shot because he jumped in front of Anton right before Albert shot his gun.

It's just a shit show. So, what is the conclusion to all of this?

1) Konsta and Sasha are cousins
2) Kirill never had ANYTHING to do with any of it, not even by accident.
3) Maksim and Anton are madly in love and would die for each other
4) Albert was a madman and wished nothing but harm for his family all because he wasn't the favorite
5) Konsta chooses Kirill over his mother and is glad he lived, and she died
6) Mike will be living in Russia with Maksim and Anton who will raise him as one happy family. They both quit from Kirill's team (he gladly accepts) and Anton fixes the mess his uncle created.
7) Karina wants Viktor. She demanded Kirill hand him over to her and Kirill despite it all says he wouldn’t want anyone else for his sister though Viktor is hesitating and doesn’t show any interest (but we can assume it’s end game).
The epilogue gives us a look into 2 timelines, one is 5 months later where Sasha's water breaks and the second one is 18 months later where we meet Vaughn (their son) who I have to say HAS TO BE WHITE MASK.

Kirill is still Pakhan and that means Vaughn is the heir, which is why I think his identity is hidden to keep him safe? He is also younger and just about the same age as Nikolai and his twin sister Mia/Maya.

To me Mike cannot be white mask, he is 9 years old by the time this story ends, and he also never felt comfortable with English or living in the states. He obviously grew up in Russia..to me he probably doesn't have a close relationship with any of the Legacy of Gods kids.

I wonder who Vaughn will end up with, as we know he does not get a book (yet) but I wonder if it's Maya? or someone else? I'm in need of answers. I hope we get something concerning his future in some form!

Overall, I loved this series. Is it my favorite from Rina? No, but it's my second favorite. Deception Trilogy is still superior but that's only because Adrian owns me, but honestly Kirill is right there with him.

“Kirill, stay away, I mean it.”
“I won’t. I mean it. You can shoot my other arm and I will walk to you. If you take my legs, I’ll crawl to you.”
“Are you crazy?”
“When it comes to you? Possibly.”

Rina Kent has no business being this funny. There is just something about this series, especially this book that was so entertaining that I have to round up to four stars. Is this peak literature? Not by any means, but if you ask me if this is peak entertainment then my answer would be different. The stupid twists this author is coming up with is astonishing and should be studied. 🌚

I’m surprised how much I liked this book since Heart of My Monster has one of my least fav tropes and that is when the Hero and heroine are separated for time. In this case it was only 2 months, but it took until 30% of the book until Kirill and Sasha finally reunited. But at the same time I got Kirill–that dumbass– believing Sasha was dead and suffering so I gladly took that seperation. A win is a win.

My Sasha comes at that because she’s made for me. I get off on stealing her air,; she gets off on having her oxygen taken. I get off on fucking hard; she gets off on being handled roughly.

Sasha and Kirill ✨ a match made in heaven ✨ both of their dumbass energy matches the other and it’s a sight to behold. 😌

4 STARS. ✨

This book was filled with endless drama, constant push and pull, animosity between Kirill and Sasha, and a lot of miscommunication and trust issues. This book was good in its own accord, but I loved the others more!!

╰┈➤ FAKE DEATH DRAMA:

"Here are the days when I wonder why I’m still breathing when she isn’t."

After Kirill heard about the bombing on the cabin where Sasha was, he immediately went there, where he found a burned body that had her ring and bracelet, which he gave her, and the DNA was matched — he thought she had died. He became a ghostly version of himself. He went on a killing spree, got drunk at her grave every night, and started imagining her presence. He constantly had thoughts of dying, but it wasn't until Maksim told him that SASHA IS ALIVE AND WANTS TO KILL HIM.

"She wants to kill me the next time she sees me? By all means. Anything for my beautiful wife."

"She also loved singing and kissing. But then she left and took away her hugs, her smiles, and even her infuriating arguments."

To be honest, I expected more from Kirill when he met Sasha. He was so calm at that time, and I wanted him to say something instead of being calm. But he threatened Sasha because he had captured Anton — her brother, whom she found at the end of Book 2 and with whom she planned the fake death and execution plan for Kirill. So she had no choice but to go with him, but on the condition that she'd divorce him in 3 months.

Even though she shot him and ignored him for weeks and had that DON'T TOUCH ME RULE, when they went to the cabin, she gave in, and they spent weeks enjoying each other's company happily!

╰┈➤ EMOTIONAL DRAMA:

I don't know why Kirill was calling out Sasha for being an overthinker and leaving him because of her insecurities when he was the one who didn't talk to her about the fake marriage with Kristina — his brother's wife. Like, please, she thought he had ended the engagement! I think Sasha was right because everything was slammed into her face at that moment.

"You went above and beyond hurting me back."

But what she did to him was super cruel, and Kirill was so badly TRAUMATIZED by that that he was constantly thinking of ways to never let her go. He knew he would lose her if he did something drastic, but he couldn't let her be alone either because he was afraid!

Sasha also had so many doubts, ugh, she constantly thought that Kirill would discard her because why not! He might love her, but he loves his power more, and the fact that she still has to take revenge!

╰┈➤ CONCLUSION:

— I'm so glad the book ended well, and it was great! I wanted more scenes of Kirill taking care of Sasha during her pregnancy, but obviously, we don't always get what we want 😮‍💨

— Vaughn, omg 🥲 First of all, I love this name, I JUST DO. and he was so cute like he had a little scene, but he was so adorable. I just want his book so badly! He's going to be Pakhan if he gets his book, so why tf won't Rina add him in the 2nd generation series 😭 PETITION FOR RINA TO WRITE ANOTHER 2ND GEN SERIES AND INCLUDE REMI/ARI, MAYA/ILYA, GARETH, AND VAUGHN and whoever that White mask is going to be!

— MAKSIM AND ANTON WTH 😭 I WANT MORE! Anton is so obsessed with him.

— A lot of plot twists were super predictable, at least to me, and I already knew the reason why Kirill's mother hated him and Karina and not Konstantin. It was so obvious that he might be the son of someone else she loved.

— This book umm had more of family drama and tons of toxic 'you'll never leave me' shit but it was good. I JUST WANTED MORE EMOTIONS FROM KIRILL AFTER THAT FAKE DEATH DRAMA! And the Prologue of this book was so horrifying, and I MEAN IT! THE MASSACRE OF HER FAMILY WAS SO SO BAD AND HER COUSIN'S DEATH 😭

"Damien has misread the whole fucking atmosphere, and, I kid you not, he thinks the fact that I’m not married means we can fight." — GOD SINCE BOOK 1 DAMIEN IS BEING SO CLINGY FOR A FIGHT WITH KIRILL 😂💀

"Lidya was born exactly two weeks after Vaughn, but unlike him, she likes to behave like a child." — yeaaaahh, the fact that they're both 18 months old..... 💀

I'll be bored to tears now, I've got nothing to read! I want recs🥲

House of cards!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💚🖤💙❤️💖
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌍
Character development: ☹️🙃😍😘

The heroine: Sasha - after surviving the brutal massacre of nearly everyone in her family when she was young, she began masquerading as a man to make sure she was not discovered and killed as well. She joined the Russian army and got herself into Kirill’s good graces, after leaving the army, she along with Kirill’s most trusted men went back to the US and are now fully entrenched in the Bratva. She believes Kirill’s father was solely responsible for the massacre of her family, though her uncle and babushka think Kirill was in on it.

The Hero: Kirill - he has always wanted to become the Pakhan of the Russian Bratva and he has been closing in on his goal. Though he knows he is in love with Sasha, he can’t let that out into the open or will be accused of pulling the wool over the eyes of the the bratva’s leaders. Since she has been masquerading as a man and is one of his most trusted guards.

The Story: It is always hard to write a review of a second or third book in a trilogy without giving things away, especially ones like Rina Kent writes since there is always a killer cliffhanger at the end of the previous book. This one is no exception. Though I don’t think it is giving anything away to let you know that things are no longer copasetic between Sasha and Kirill. She no longer believes the shady lies he has been feeding her.

This book started with a bang and kept me interested through to the end. I loved the fact that we finally get to see Sasha’s point of view of what happened to her family on that tragic Christmas so long ago. We also get a lot more insight into the way Kirill thinks and why he is always building a house of cards while thinking of strategic matters.

One thing I loved about this series was always the cast of colorful supporting characters which continued in this book. I love all the bratva leaders, especially Rai, who is a fierce protector of womankind and Damien, who has only ever wanted to fight Kirill to see who is the tougher man. Friendly Maksim and broody Yuri have also been favorites since they were besties with Sasha. They change and come into their own quite a bit in this story as well.

an actual fucking joke.

Stop it, both of you, just stop. You were the best of friends. Can’t you think of that?”

BITCH PLEASE. They were literally chained and beating each other to a pulp and she says WHAT???

I- Sasha went from “okay, she’s not bad” to “ come one grow a back bone” to “ you fucking doormat, grow the fuck up”

And Kirill? He needs to grow a personality. By far the worst hero written by RK 💩

SUCH AN AMAZING SERIES. I loved how we picked up right after that ending of book two. I say this in every review and I don't want to spoil anything for this book, but the way Kirill is just SO GONE for Sasha!? He will literally destroy anything and everyone for her. The reveals were so fun and I loved how everything came out. This series is just SO GOOD and I won't stop thinking about it anytime soon!

SPEECHLESS. Without a doubt MY FAVORITE RINA KENT SERIES/COUPLE/STORY. I honestly feel so empty now that it’s over I never wanted it to end! No mafia romance will ever compare, it’s just not possible. I would die for Kirill and Sasha. They are the standard.

This book absolutely RUINED ME! My emotions were all over the goddamn place and I repeatedly felt my heart being ripped out of my chest and stomped on. And I’m absolutely not complaining in the slightest.

I loved everything about this trilogy, not a single complaint. The plot, the plot fucking twists, the character development, the romance, the spice, could not have been better!

Kirill and Sasha have my whole damn heart. Sasha had this man wrapped around her fingers in this book and I fucking ate it up! We saw the more emotional side of Kirill in this book and we also got to see him be so goddamn whipped and obsessed, I could not stop giggling at how down bad he is. He literally let her shoot him…. Like when I tell you this man is the standard.

“She wants to kill me the next time she sees me? By all means. Anything for my beautiful wife.”

“You can shoot my other arm and I will walk to you. If you take my legs, I’ll crawl to you.”

“I don’t only love you. I’m nothing without you. I don’t know when it started or when it grew into this fiery explosion, but I know for a fact that you’ve become an undivided part of me. You’re the solace I need every night and the light I look forward to every morning.”

I think those speak for themselves….

Also I loved Sasha more and more with each book. I love how she continues to assert her dominance in a world run by men and takes absolutely NO SHIT. Seeing Kirill lift her up and support her like the queen she is in this book was EVERYTHING. Their growth as a couple was simply unmatched, their chemistry and love was palpable. One simply does not exist without the other. HOW AM I GOING TO MOVE ON????

Also the little side relationships in this… yes yes yes!

Guys, I love, love, love this book 🥹
It honestly surprises me to say this because i hated the first one and never thought the rest of the series would turn out better -especially since i kept hearing that the first book is everyone's favorite. But here i am… completely in love with this trilogy 🥹
Kirill Morozov 🧎🏻‍♀️🧎🏻‍♀️🧎🏻‍♀️i confess without apology: i fell for his manipulative, self-serving, oppressive personality 😭 This is exactly why i love dark romance, it feeds my need for toxic relationships lol, and Kirill absolutely served. I hated him and loved him at the same time (mostly loved🤭)
The first chapters made me cry uncontrollably, and even now, after reading the two epilogues, i still feel like i'm on the verge of tears 🥲 watching him accept his love, slowly tear down his walls, and take risks for the sake of that love was so painfully beautiful 🥹 and while i still don't fully forgive how he was in the second book, that "𝗜𝗳 𝗜 𝗱𝗶𝗲, 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗜 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂?" scene erased all my resentment 😭😭😭 it broke me into a hundred pieces and my heart still aches 💔😭
Kirill Morozov, i love, love, love you 🥹

As for Sasha: would it be surprising if i said i still find her cute? 🤭 But in this book, i also found her deeply respectable and incredibly brave. Finally seeing her POV of what happened to her family on that tragic Christmas all those years ago was absolutely heartbreaking. If i hadn't loved her since the first book, i definitely would have fallen for her here because how could i not? Seeing her become the woman she always wanted to be, seeing her so free, was incredibly heartwarming 🥹 She's still brave, still protective (especially of her husband 🤭) but now she's finally living as a woman, just as she always dreamed. I love her.

I also loved the found family in this book 😻 One of my favorite things about this series has always been its colorful cast of supporting characters, and that continued beautifully here 🫠 Their interactions and the way they complement each other added so much warmth to the story.

Overall, my relationship with this trilogy didn't start well at all but now it's my favorite Rina Kent series so far. And honestly, i don't think any of her other books will ever take its place, because none of them will have Kirill and Sasha 🥹
I'm forever their supporter 🖤

Part 3

1,5 🤨⭐️s

The only thing that I enjoyed was Kirill’s acceptance of feelings.

Things fell into place, twists and revelations were decent.

This trilogy was supposed to be dark, yet for me it was not.
It could have been a duet, and that with a caution, as long as the dragging and repetitions were missed.

Sasha is undoubtedly one of the heroines that I want to erase from my memory.

Hello, Perfection!

My heart officially belongs to Kirill and Sasha. This was the perfect ending for these two. I am head over heels in love with this trilogy. I have anxiously been waiting for this book, because book 2 had me in tears. I always trust in the process when it comes to Rina Kent books, and she has proven yet again that you need to just trust her. This book exceeded my expectations, it was more than I could have hoped for, and yet again had me in tears.

The love that these two shares is so powerful, it's a once in a lifetime kind of love. These two are so consumed by each other that you don't know where one starts and the other begins. There is no Kirill without Sasha and no Sasha without Kirill. I loved seeing the lengths Kirill will go for Sasha. We get to see more give from him, how he'd give up everything for her. How he puts her first and worships her, like I knew he would. He builds Sasha up into the Queen she was always meant to be.
Never have I read about a couple with so much growth and selflessness for one another.

This story gives us all the answers we have needed, nothing is left open ended. Alot of my theories throughout have been correct while other twist had me shook, or pleasantly surprised. We get to see a good amount of their family life, and Kirill and Sasha living a more domesticated life together. These elements were some of my favorites to read about. Yes, Kirill is still the same Ruthless man that he has always been, but he's a big softy for only Sasha. There were so many sweet and tender moments between them, that had my heart aching for these two. This story is filled with everything I love about romance books. Not only is this one of my favorite Rina Kent books it's one of my all-time favorites in general. All I can say is you need to read this trilogy! you are doing yourself a disservice if you haven't yet.

“You’ve become an undivided part of me. You’re the solace I need every night and the light I look forward to every morning. I might have strived for power and prestige, but it took losing you to realize that my universe revolves around you.”

This series only went downhill after Book 1. The Monster trilogy is not Rina’s worst work, but she could’ve done better with these characters, especially since I adored them as side characters in other books. Kirill and Sasha annoyed me a lot in this final book. The constant back and forth about ‘I want to kill him’ and ‘She is my wife, and I will never leave her’ was tiring and repetitive. In my opinion, Kirill and Sasha only needed two books because Rina just dragged their story out for no reason. The big reveal about Sasha’s revenge and who killed her family didn’t happen until only 20% of the book was left, and then it was all chaos and rushed endings.

“She wants to kill me the next time she sees me?
By all means.
Anything for my beautiful wife.”

Kirill behaved like a manipulative husband, and Sasha seemed to have no backbone. Honestly, she came across as so pathetic because she couldn’t stop loving a monster and needing his heart. After how Book 2 ended, I was expecting some angsty moments and grovelling from Kirill, but this book had none. Sasha only pretended to be hurt, while Kirill kept pushing her to be with him. Kirill and Sasha had some cosy and sweet moments together, but it still wasn’t enough for me. They are so bad at communicating their feelings, worse than Adrian and Lia—and that says everything. And again with the pregnancy trope? It felt so random, but I’m not even surprised given how much Rina loves this trope.

“Kirill, stay away, I mean it.”
“I won’t. I mean it. You can shoot my other arm and I will walk to you. If you take my legs, I’ll crawl to you.”
“Are you crazy?”
“When it comes to you? Possibly.”

Maksim and Anton were a pleasant surprise, and I’m so happy for them. I wasn’t expecting Konstantin and Kristina to become a couple, but I’m happy that Kristina is married to a man she loves and who loves her in return. Karina is happy and possibly in love with Viktor, and I’m eager to see where their relationship goes. Damien kept me entertained with his unhinged and hilarious antics—he definitely needs his own book! Kirill and Sasha got their perfect happy ending and happily forever after with their extended family and have a perfect family of their own, and I am finally free from this trilogy.
