A reverse harem zombie romance featuring found family, difficult choices, and a love that beats all odds.
Faye Sterling is a Kansas-based romance author powered by caffeine, a busy mind, and an overreactive imagination. She's been writing since she was young, about five, about dinosaurs falling in love and escaping from danger. She never stopped dreaming up stories, and as she got older, they changed in tone to fit her new interests: zombies, monsters, and love that burns bright.
She's a proud single mom to a little girl and one very spoiled dog. When she's not busy with her family, she's probably staying up too late daydreaming about the next fictional world to create her characters in.
Her biggest goal? To create books you can fall into like a cozy blanket, full of unforgettable characters, and worlds that you want to get lost in and never return from.
I say that as 100% praise. The story is fun because you can see the parallels without it being identical. The characters have a chance at redemption. It also gives an interesting what if twist on everything. My only note, is that the perspective style is sometimes disorienting and is challenging. That being said, every author has their style and if this is how she likes telling her story, more power to her. However, the story is good enough and compelling enough that even IF the perspective style isn't what I prefer, its still phenomenal.
Keep going! I cant wait for the next release. I love this idea and I am so happy you're putting it all into the universe ❤️.
Sooooo good. If you liked TWD (or loved it at the beginning), enjoy a good super slow burn RH, and tend to think up your own stories while watching someone else's, you'll really enjoy this. Not perfectly written, but it left me chomping at the bit for more without a big cliffhanger. Pretty sure I know what the twist is at the end and it makes me want this next book even more. What do I have to do to get on an ARC team?!
So it is very clearly based on the walking dead. But I couldn't put it down. I read so many books that it's ridiculous 🙄 and this one had me giddy in a few spots. Normally it's, something happened that causes an apocalypse, and then you are screwed. This takes the dream all fantasy readers have and drops an everyday person, a mom, into a whole world that they have fantasized about being in. I adored this book. I know names need to be different, or we end up in fanfic territory, but that was my only frustration. It is clear who is who if you have watched the TV show (I haven't read the books). I love the fact that the dogs came along with them. She tries to change things, but changes have consequences. I enjoyed that the characters she gravitates to are not the expected characters, and the change in their "writing" is mentioned by the characters it happens to, like a certain someone who goes nuts because he's obsessed with his best friend's wife questions why he is acting differently now. I love this book and can not wait for more.
I enjoyed this book. I liked the fact that it was a zombie book. For some reason I am obsessed with them right now. The main character and daughter ended up in her favorite tv show after deciding to move across country. Which I'm assuming is TWD. I have several theory's regarding how Remington and her daughter Maisie end up in this alternate reality but I am going to wait and see if I'm correct as the story progresses.
I Love the fact that Remington is going to try and right the wrongful deaths of her favorite characters and that she is changing their story. It always sucks when your favorite character dies rather it be a book or a show. I also love that Remington shows compassion, love and understanding when helping the victims of the virus. Her first being a little boy (Landon) who becomes Maisie's best friend and protector. The dogs Nala and Pixel are so smart and a great alert system for the crazy man eating zombies.
Boone and Colt end up traveling the woods hunting to bring food back to their little camp end up running into little Landon as he helped Remington patrol after she got sick. At camp she meets Nicholas her trio is complete or is it.
A promising start to a series, and a good read if you like TWD.
Who doesn’t want to wake up in their favorite tv show? I mean, I wouldn’t if it was a zombie show, but Remi does a damn good job of adjusting in this book. You can kinda see where the storyline is going with this, until the end with the slight twist, but that isn’t a bad thing at all. It’s a nice easy read.
I noticed a couple of grammatical errors but nothing too egregious, an editor would fix this real quick. Story felt a little short, but knowing there’s a book two coming takes away from that slight disappointment.
I had a bit of a hard time following the writing style. It's what I believe is called 3rd person and it made it a bit harder to connect with the characters or to even know who was speaking at times. That being said, the plot is fascinating (especially if you are a Walking Dead fan) and it's a really unique story from everything else out there in the ZA or RH genres. I have to give full props to the strong story. This is a glacial burn. No romance in this book which was fine to me given how interesting the story was. I'll definitely be checking out book two.
It was so good!! Well written and realistic asf to be honest. I love Remington down. It seems like a TWD retelling or fanfic but that makes it even better cause it’s like imagining what you would do if you were in Remi’s situation. Maisie is so smart and doing great for a four year old. Landon has my heart. The Mason’s are darlings; Remi’s banter with Boone is hilarious & I can’t wait for Colt to come out of his shell more. Also, by the end I really liked Nicholas so I hope Remi is able to change his fate if he is supposed to be Shane.

Oh my, oh my, what an amazing start to a series!! I am in love and obsessed with Remi, Maisie, Landon, Pixel, Naka, Boone, Cokt, and Nicolas. I need and want to know what happens next. Please release the next book asap, and then the one after that. Saw that paperback was an option, definitely purchasing both the digital and physical copies. Also, who was that man at the end, I have my suspicions.
I’m a sucker for a good apocalypse story and when combined with reverse harem, it’s like a dream come true. Not only is the story great but it’s also well written. I can’t wait to read more. I’m honestly terrible at reviews because I never know what to say but this book was great. I highly recommend it.
This book was a delightful read! It delivered on exactly what it promised with zombies and a slow burn romance (like, so slow burn that I'm eagerly waiting for book two). It felt like a "what if?" take on The Walking Dead, which was right up my alley but might not be for others. The only thing holding this book back were inconsistencies in perspective that took me out of the story here and there.
This book was great! I loved the plot and world building. The characters were fun and interesting. And of course, zombies! The fmc was smart and dependable, as well as really relatable. I enjoyed watching the decisions the characters made unfold.
Such an original idea. Finally. I am 30% of the way through this book and it's incredibly enjoyable. I can't wait for more in the series. I can't wait to find out what happens.
