Slasher
This was a good book that could have been a great Slasher book. It was exactly what you would expect. My main issue was with the dialogue. At times it was stiff, and it did not sound like the way Devin the U.S. talk.
The second problem was how he handled police policy.
I liked the storyline and think with time the author will get it all right.

A serial killer in Los Angeles is targeting a very specific group of victims- actresses who have survived in “slasher” films. As the killings escalate in damage and more women die detectives scramble to catch the madman and protect potential victims. Meanwhile “slasher” film production company Hitlist where all the women filmed continues work on its biggest production ever. Using the publicity garnered from the murders producers and company execs hope to catapult the film and the studio to new heights.
While the list of possible suspects grows detective Joshua Matthews struggles to untangle the web of clues, and there are very few of those. Matthews also deals with demons from his own past making his investigation more complicated. Faced with the after effects of the horrific attacks he has to contain his emotions and focus on the task at hand.
With great insight into the Hollywood film industry WD Jackson brings his story to life. His cast of characters is vibrant and the story is well crafted and believable. With more twists and turns than a studio backlot the book holds the reader’s attention until the shocking finale.
“Slasher” has all the ingredients necessary for a film and could easily become the next Hollywood hit.

While Slasher is the first in a mystery series about detective Joshua Matthews, if you’re a horror fan, don’t be dissuaded. This first installment is pretty much a slasher movie written as a book, with just a bit more focus on the detective investigating the case. And the case is—popular scream queens in Hollywood are being offed one by one…as a slasher studio is trying to make a movie. Sure, the morbid reality of the murders will bring the movie plenty of the right publicity, but that won’t help if the main girl in the movie becomes the final victim in reality before the film is completed!
If you grew up devouring every slasher movie you could, definitely check out Slasher!

ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY FABULOUS.
This was one of the most amazing and exciting books I've read in a long time. The excitement continued and continued until the unbelievably fantastic ending.

When the director says cut he means it.
Slasher is a nicely paced thriller with good characters and nice twists to keep the readers wondering what the outcome will be. Part cat and mouse thriller part psychological horror in whole a very tense read.

Excellent thriller
Very well written novel that had suspense, intrigue, good character development, and a lot of intensity. Definitely a great read!
