From the global bestselling author of Iris is More than Okay comes a sweeping, Transatlantic, second chance romance that will steal your heart. Narrated by Bella Maclean, breakout star of Jilly Cooper's Rivals.
Holland Beck – yes, after the country, and no, the story isn’t a good one – hates flying. On the brink of boarding a flight from Heathrow to Los Angeles, she panics. She can’t do it. Travelling triggers all the trauma of her past, the childhood memories she’s done her very best to forget.
But thanks to cool, calm and collected Xander, Holland somehow manages to board the plane. Twelve hours and six thousand miles later, they touch down in LA and aren’t quite able to say goodbye. They make arrangements to meet at the end of Santa Monica Pier in three days time.
But while Holland turns up, Xander is nowhere to be seen.
A year passes – one ordinary, unremarkable year. Holland does her best to forget the American with the ice blue eyes and slightly crooked smile, but despite her best efforts, the memories remain clear in her mind, refusing to let go. Then one evening, at a friend’s wedding, their worlds collide once more, along with all the unanswered Why wasn't he at the pier that day? What made him change his mind? And why does he carry a hidden sorrow that seems to reflect her own?
You, Again is an achingly tender map of the heart, showing us the roads not taken and the ones we did, and if there is ever a way to retrace our steps, to learn to love again.
Listened to this while I was busy these last few days and I have to say, I never wanted to DNF so bad. And I NEVER DNF EVER… It was super slow and stayed that way until the last couple of chapters of the book. I could NOT at the end when they FINALLY got together but she saw an email that he just accepted a job in LA. GIRLLL did you NOT just spend the last week avoiding him and the suddenly out of nowhere spent the last day and a half with him??? THEN you got so spooked you ran off again? Like did you not think that logically maybe he didn’t have time to address that new job and his new relationship with you? I just thought it lacked logic… the FMC really gave me an ickk 😕😕

I want to give it a 4 but the end clashed a bit in tone with the rest of the book. Also, I felt like half of what I liked was actually the narration by Bella McClane(?). It’s nice to listen to someone narrate a book without sounding like they hate it. Also super magnetic voice and really fun accents.
This book had such a good premise but really under-delivered. The FMC was insufferable and the MMC was a wet blanket. The miscommunication between the two of them was frustrating and I DNF’d about 15 minutes from the end as it was so cringe-worthy I couldn’t bear to listen to it.
Glad I didn’t spend money on this. It was boring. And the plot holes!
Like the whole selling Xander as a roommate to Madison. Clearly this woman is a snoop, so you’re telling me she didn’t bat an eye at no guy toiletries in the single bathroom? Or nothing in the spare bedroom? She didn’t look? Come on!
And the audacity of her just taking the bed, and Holland just lets her? I get that Holland has no backbone, but that’s just way too much.
This was sooo clunky. My rating is Meh.5 stars.

I feel like this book could have ended much earlier than it did. The fated love trope was great and the details of the two MCs lives coming together was beautiful. But to add a miscommunication trope at the end? Seemed to diminish all the character growth of the FMC and the messages the author tried to convey. Little disheartened by it.
Story 3.5 stars. Narration 4.5 stars I give up. I just wrote a long review and lost it. I’ll just say it wasn’t a bad listen but could have been better. And I wish it had a better cover.
The tone shift with 10% left in the book is quite jarring. Be sure to check trigger warnings, it gets graphic for about a chapter and a half. This was an easy read but a bit of they were just into each other because they were and both wanted someone, it didn’t seem like there was a bigger pull. I guess it’s supposed to be fate??
This book doesn't know what it wants to be - a hard-hitting story about two people with tragic past that find each other (nomen omen) again, or melodramatic fated lovers story or a twee beat-by-beat miscommunication romcom.
Wish this was traditionally published so I could keep it on my book trophy shelf, but alas it’s an audible exclusive. A lovely story with a ‘right person wrong time’ kind of feel.
Why do I do this to myself?? Starts off as lil airport romance, the one you think you're going to have every time you fly anywhere... then rapidly deteriorates. I disliked the FMC and the story line was strange.
4.5 stars! I am shocked this doesn’t have a better overall rating. It gives me November 9 vibes! I really enjoyed it. The writing flowed really well and the pining was good, a slow burn for sure!! I really feel like it was so great, it gave me allll the feels and was a great read for an in between series read!
Story was decent until about 80% and then it felt like the author wasn't sure how they wanted to end the book or they felt like rushing it to squeeze in as much as they could in a short period. Not great, but not bad
Sweet but also semi- heavy little romance- two people dealing with their own personal demons have a cute meet in an airport, everything is going perfectly so they agree to meet up the next day after they arrive. Only the MMC completely ghosts her. She is devastated and heart broken until she randomly comes across him a year later.
What to expect: ✈️ LACK OF COMMUNICATION TROPE out the wazoo. This is the only reason why I knocked it down a star. The frustration of freaking two adults that communicate so well in every other area except the one most important thing! 😡 🤬😤😖 I wanted to reach in an yank Holland’s ear. Half the book had this awkward 🐘 elephant in the room vibe and Holland the FMC wouldn’t let Alex the MMC discuss it. ✈️ Second chance romance 💞 ✈️ Alcoholic parent / death of a sibling / grief / guilt / crappy childhood ✈️ small town / found family ✈️ cinnamon roll MMC ✈️ the slowest burn - and I like a slow burn but this one got a tad frustrating…(see point #1) ✈️ sweetest HEA ✈️ but seriously they are going to have issues if they don’t learn to talk to each other 🤦🏽♀️
🎧 The audiobook was FANTASTIC. Bella Maclean’s voice is just so beautiful (English accent) and has a comforting quality. Her male voice was not different from the female voice, so that took a second to get used to. But wow I really could listen to her all day.
I listened to it today on Audible and it was cute but very slow & predictable! Within the first few minutes of the book I knew exactly what was going to happen in this book, and they were both going to LA for the same reasons.
Honestly I had it in my head it was a car accident not a boat but I knew she would have had the wheel and there was booze involved. I figured it would have been her deadbeat mother drunk driving but it was one of her looser boyfriends. Same outcome though 2 young boys died and lots of survivors guilt!
The male character almost seemed a little too perfect, looks like a Greek god, cooks, has a very successful career, never married no kids, loves romcoms and didn’t date anyone since he met her a year ago? Kinda too good to be true? I know he’s been in therapy but still…
Oh well the book was cute and an easy listen I just had to speed it up a lot because it was Slow!

Part of this is on me for judging a book by its cover. The tone is wayy too heavy for one of these little cartoon couple covers. I clicked on what I thought was a light romance really quickly when I couldn’t fall asleep- nope. TW: (through flashback) childhood death, alcoholism, domestic violence, etc.
Was going to be a 3.5 probably. The story was interesting enough, the connections were interesting when you finally got there. But that entire last act with the miscommunication and public declaration was unnecessary.
Spoilers ahead :
What the heck was the end? why would she assume he’s leaving after allllll that from an email?! And she doesn’t let him explain?! And thennnn he makes a public declaration at a work thing?? No.
I liked the story, the development of the relationship between the main characters was engaging, I liked their connection.
The reunion for me was nice, it was a long shot but I think I it ended up working out.
I was genuinely loving the book, but towards the end, there were parts of it that didn't connect with the personalities of the characters as I envisioned them, that felt to me incongruent with the rest of the story, I didn't appreciate these behaviors changes.
I liked that I didn't anticipate the connection, that was surprisingly logical but I didn't see it coming.
Overall, a nice book with nice main and side characters.

The odds of a situation like this connecting just the right people make this so unbelievable that I can not commit to more than saying it was a well written story. I was invested in the story, but not the characters.
I usually don’t give 5 stars to any book unless it’s life-changing amazing, but this little romance story deserves 5 stars from me because the twist toward the end caught me completely off guard (which is hard to do). Most of the time these romance stories are completely predictable like a Hallmark movie, which is kind of what I enjoy about them. But man, this one had me screaming “WHAT!?! 😱” over my kitchen sink while doing the dishes. Overall, really cute story.
Eh, it was a strange and quick wrap up at the end, after taking so long to get there. Also, I couldn't believe that Madison hadn't sussed out the fake living arrangement given her propensity to poke through things!
This started out promising. But there are so many things that made this an absolute chore to get through. Holland for instance is incredibly frustrating as a character - while I understand her trauma, it doesn't excuse all the frankly stupid decisions she makes. These were all things thrown in just to create more conflict and drama in the plot which felt like a cop-out. The male main character meanwhile had zero flaws - he was designed to like her which made me roll my eyes too many times over.
Overall, an interesting premise but when it came to execution left me feeling exasperated.
Summary As Holland Beck begins to have a panic attack at the airport before her flight back to Los Angeles from London, a cool and calm traveler sits with her and manages to distract her and calm her down. Twelve hours and six thousand miles later, they touch down in LA but aren’t quite able to say goodbye. They make arrangements to meet at the end of Santa Monica Pier in three days time. Only Xander doesn't show.
One year later, at a friend’s wedding, their worlds collide again.
Review: This was a sweet story of how trauma and healing can take such unexpected paths for some people. Even tragedy couldn't break the undeniable connection they shared and they were both just doing their best, trying to live normal lives and grow from their past. Turns out, they just needed each other to heal.
