Shaped from a childhood of abuse and addiction, John Madison survives by living a double life. As he navigates a world built on routine, rigidity, and isolation, he finds solace in an unorthodox hobby that eases the pain woven into his experience. He thrives in his gruesome private world, kept secret from everyone, including his beloved sister, Hayley.
Unfortunately, the two worlds begin to bleed together when John is faced with a life-altering ultimatum- one that could become the foundation for a new beginning or the prelude to the end.
Set on the breathtaking coast of the PNW, Butterfly delves into John Madison's world, offering a taste of what it's like to have an itch that is deadly to scratch.
A really good, well written story. A new genre for me, kind of a Silence of the Lambs vibe! Half of me was afraid to keep reading, half of me couldn't put it down! I finished it in one day!
🦋If you’re a fan of dark fiction that pushes boundaries and plays with your perception of morality, Butterfly is a must-read. This novel delivers a gripping, twist-filled “lifestyle” plot that keeps you hooked from start to finish.
🦋Clark does an exceptional job crafting complex, deeply human characters. There’s subtle brilliance in how she blurs the line between right and wrong, pulling readers into a world where morality feels irrelevant.
🦋The writing itself is stunning. Every description reads like poetry transformed into vivid imagery, making each scene feel immersive and hauntingly precise. It’s the kind of writing that doesn’t tell, it shows and you can feel its authenticity.
🦋Butterfly has easily earned a spot on my five ⭐️ shelf, and the cover is a work of art. I’m already looking forward to the next installment in the series. (Which I already ordered)
🦋If you love dark romance, psychological thrillers, horror, and perhaps especially, if you enjoyed DEXTER This book should be at the top of your TBR.
Very well written and fairly quick read. Totally creepy and f***d up in a matter of fact kind of way. I was internally judging myself for liking John’s character so much & being a bit upset about what becomes of him. Holy twist ending! I saw the author is writing a follow up book.. can’t wait to read it🖤
