3.5⭐️ "Many people with ADHD feel like they need to justify saying 'no' - to avoid disappointing someone, out of guilt, or because they struggle with rejection sensitivity. But the truth is you don't owe anyone an explanation for protecting your time, energy, and well-being."
I picked this book up thru Kindle Unlimited. it consists of 365 numbered simple tips for adults with ADHD to help improve productivity and focus. I enjoyed the straightforward organization and how the author included several tips for each subtopic in case one doesn't resonate.
some tips are helpful! i underlined several, especially ones regarding cleaning or household chores. some tips feel like they are stating the obvious yet could certainly be useful for someone newly learning about ADHD. aaand then other tips tell me to put butter in my morning coffee. which I believe is a keto diet hack that was de-bunked 10 years ago haha
This book is a great book to educate yourself on ADHD. I underlined almost every page. There is a quiz so you can figure out which area that is causing you the most problems. That helps you work on the most reverent part for yourself first. I especially was impressed with 365 hacks to help the person overcome problems every day of the year. This book is a game changer for anyone who struggles with ADHD.
This book is full of helpful practices to help those of us with ADHD, although a lot of the activities can help everyone. More than that though, this book helps us understand why we act the way we do, even when endeavor to become better, and in a way that does not make us feel inferior. Also, the actions to take are easy small steps that help build confidence to tackle more. I am picking up things to put away whenever I go to another room, and I am tackling those tasks I dislike by challenging myself to do them within a specific time frame. The author also recommends different resources to help overcome the ADHD mindset. Overall, this book provides not only tips for better living as someone with ADHD, but also an understanding that ADHD is not a broken mind, just a different one.
Incredible! So very helpful! There are so many great recommendations in this book and the best thing is that there are plenty for you to find something that works for you in particular. I had some reassurance when I saw some things I’m already doing and apps I’m already using! And I’ve been trying some of the techniques for myself and in support of my daughter. I feel understood and I have answers and support. Great tool! Easy read!
This book is gold! This is a super helpful resource!! I highly recommend this book! It has so many things that I know will help the areas of my life that I'm not doing well with.
I actually didn't expect much because every time I get a book that claims it can help, it's the same recycled ideas. This has a few of those but repackaged in a way that it's genuinely useful. There are genuine tips that help with food and budgeting and honestly, after the KU read I'm considering buying a hard copy. She actually has provided what she promised to and I couldn't be more appreciative.
