He returned from war hailed as a hero, but a stranger to himself—and to the wife he never knew he had.

Dominic Stevens, Baron Warwicke, comes home bearing the physical and emotional scars of battle. Haunted by fragmented memories and burdened by duty, he’s stunned to learn he has a wife—a woman he does not remember marrying.

Dorothea rejoices when Dominic comes to remove her from her brother’s abusive household. But the man who stands before her now is colder, harder… a shadow of the husband she once knew. Still, she is determined to reach the heart he has forgotten, believing the man she married is still there, merely buried beneath the pain.

Intent on seeking an annulment to free them both, Dominic fights his growing feelings for the gentle, resilient woman who refuses to give up on him. But when danger threatens Dorothea’s life, Dominic must confront not only his past but also the possibility that the love he thought forever lost in his life may be the very thing that saves them both.

This was a great continuation of the series! It started out with a lot of suspense and questions, easy page turner!

Dorothea is so sweet and very admirable. She encouraged Dominic so much and never made him feel like a failure or broken man. I felt like the romance was a little odd at times. Sometimes he'd act in love with Dorothea, and other times he still wanted the annulment, but I loved how she never gave up on him. She never stopped believing in his worth.

If you enjoy a clean, closed-door regency romance, then I highly recommend you try this series!

Loved this story!!! It is the 3rd in the series but definitely works as a standalone. Dominic barely escapes death and has the scars to prove it. He recently has become a Baron and just learned he has a wife that he doesn’t remember marrying. The marriage is legit however and really happened. He goes to find his wife, Dorothea. He remembers her but not their getting married part. He finds her at the hands of her abusive brother and takes her away. She is thrilled but he is changed from how he was before. I really loved the story. I loved Dorothea and Dominic and watching them together. I felt bad for Dorothea at times with Dominic’s struggles and seeking annulment. I wanted to yell at him to stop being an idiot haha. However, I loved watching him grow and learn to love. And I also liked her growth too. Another thing I loved was the banter between Dominic and his friends, it’s hilarious. There is a little mystery involved in the story too. Overall a great read and I recommend.

••I give 5 stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

~He returned from war hailed as a hero, but a stranger to himself-and to the wife he never knew he had...

-To Love A Baron, is dear book #3 in the Courting the Unconventional Series. It is a unique and heartwarming story filled wonderfully with marriage of convenience, clever twists and turns, mystery, swoony moments, betrayal, and emotionally depth! I throughly enjoyed how this dear story easily grabbed my attention and held me along for such an adventure of the heart. Watching dear characters with broken and scared hearts be able to trust, be brave, heal, grow, bloom, and be happy along the way was simply beautiful, tender, and inspiring. I loved watching endearing their characters find their place, their belonging, their home, and the courage within for standing up for themselves and in love, for it matters most. There was absolutely an uphill battle to a happily ever after within but, that led to a more satisfying & beautiful ending. Also, the epilogue was perfection. This dear story my friends, is worth the read but, do start with book one in the series to grasp the full beauty within this story!💯

“You deserve to be loved fully, without condition.”

•Content: physical and emotional from serving in the water, death of loved ones, strained family relationships, loss, grief, neglect, lies, betrayal, poisoning, danger, sickness, some drinking, rejection, kisses only. Closed-door.

“Well, I choose you,” he said. “I will choose you again and again, for every day we’re given.”

“Thank you.” “I didn’t do anything.” “But you did,” he said, his thumb grazing her skin. “You’ve never looked at me like l’m broken.” “That’s because vou aren’t.”

Marriage of convenience is a favorite, in fiction. This one was unique and I loved how it set up. The story immediately took hold of my attention and I couldn’t stop reading. I really wanted a happy ending for these two.

Dominic is a tortured war hero. There are things he wishes he could forget and other things he can’t seem to remember. Important things! Like getting married! Dominic is not certain how his marriage came about, but he is certain he is not suitable to be a husband.

Dorothea believes herself to be widowed and at the mercy of her miserable brother. When she learns that her husband is not dead after all, she is relieved, until she realizes he not only doesn’t remember their union, but he’s not the same man she married. He’s hardened from his experiences. She believes the man she came to love is still in him and continues to try and reach him. Will her efforts be futile, push him further away, or will she be able to connect with the man that once cared for her?

I loved this story of hope, bringing out the best in people, and finding healing between two broken hearts. I also loved the mystery to be figured out. So much to love!

“That strength has always been inside you,” he said. “You didn’t need me to find it. You only needed to believe it was there.”

Is this now my new favorite Laura Beers book? It just might be! The swirling mystery around every corner, the sweeping romance, and the dynamic between Dominic’s fierceness and Dorothea’s steadfast devotion make this a truly heart-pounding read.

I could not get enough of Dominic’s conviction to always stand up for the right thing. There are many moments where my heart was overwhelmed by his unexpected kindness and gentleness. At the same time, he was a force to be reckoned with. His protective "touch-her-and-die" intensity of Dorothea is utterly swoon-worthy.

“Say something like that again,” he growled, “and I promise you, it will be the last mistake you ever make.”

And Dorothea, oh, how my heart ached for her. Her undying love and compassion for Dominic, seeing him through all his darkness, self-doubt, and pain, was genuinely inspiring.

The premise is immediately gripping: Dorothea is in deep mourning for her husband and father, who are casualties of the war. Her world changes instantly when a Lord Warwicke pays an unexpected visit to her brother’s townhouse, and in walks Dominic—her lost love, her husband.

Dominic returns from the war finding himself titled and married—two things he never expected to be. He seeks out his wife, initially planning an annulment for a marriage he doesn't remember. But when he discovers her being cruelly abused by her brother, his simple plan becomes instantly, compellingly complicated.

There is a richness to the plot that goes far beyond our two main characters. I won't give away too many of the twists, surprises, and suspenseful moments, but this story will keep you absolutely riveted from the very first chapter.
Plus, seeing beloved characters from the rest of the series in this book was a delight! The quick, sharp banter and jesting between the men and the hilarious, quick-witted conversations among the women had me grinning so much!

“But I’ve never arranged a kidnapping before. I was rather hoping it would be as thrilling as it sounds. Perhaps we could lure him into a carriage under the pretense of a parliamentary emergency.”

If you haven't started this series, do yourself a huge favor and dive in. You need to meet these characters and fall in love with their stories!

“You must never let your circumstances dictate your worth. A person’s future is not determined by where they begin.”

Thank you to the author for the advanced gifted copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

‘She showed him that love can exist in the most imperfect and broken people. And for that, he would be forever grateful.’

This was one of my favorite books in this series! With marriage of convience vibes, tons of twists and turns, and holding out for true love, it was a very unique and fun read.

Baron Waricke has got some serious baggage. From his not-so-great father to his horrific memories at war on the Continent, he's got a lot of stuff he wishes he could just forget. But forgetting that he has a wife? That definitely wasn't part of his plan.

Dorothea's life is bleak under the cruel thumb of her controlling brother- that is, until the husband she thought was dead blazes into her brother's study and whisks her away to safety. It seems like all of her wildest dreams have come true- until she realizes that Dominic isn't the same man she once knew. When some mysterious events threaten her life, Dominic steps up to protect her, but she still isn't sure if love is in the cards. With a lot at stake and danger at every turn, will Dominic and Dorothea be able to carve out a future with each other before it's too late?

I adore a good will-the-marriage-work love story. This was a sweet slow burn with lots of yearning and cute moments between our MMC and FMC. All of Dominic's trauma and past deserved a slow burn story, and Dorothea's personality was the perfect patient and hopeful complement to her husband's despair and darkness.

And then there was the suspense! There were several unexpected twists to the story that I enjoyed. I was familiar with Baron Warwicke from the previous book, so I was excited to see him in action again. I don't want to give too much away, so I just recommend jumping in and letting yourself get caught up in the romance so the suspense hits you like a freight train!

I'm super excited for the next book- it definitely looks unconventional! Overall, a great read.

Wow just wow, I have read every book by Laura Beers and this one was such a unique story. I loved that Dominic Stevens, Baron Warwicke who came back from the war suddenly finds out he has a wife that he doesn't remember. He was given a title as a reward for his military skills but he is having real trouble trying to move on with his life after his military experiences. He is suffering from so much regrets from the war both mentally and physically. He determines to track down his wife and find out the details of their marriage.

Dorothea followed her military father when he went to war. She has an abusive brother and her father wanted to protect her. She was there when Dominic was wounded. They. spent many hours talking while he was in much pain. When her father passed away, Dominic agreed to marry her to protect her from her brother. They got married in front of witnesses and it was a legal marriage. But something horrible happened and Dorothea has believed that her husband passed away. so she had no choice but to return to live with her abusive husband and his wife. They have worn her down as they have both treated her cruelly.

Dominic goes to his wife's home to find her brother physically abusing her. She is shocked to find her husband alive. Dominic immediately removes his wife from her brother's house but he has no plans to stay married to her. He plans to file for an annulment which will have to be promoted by the people he knows in parliament. Dorothea can see the changes in the man she actually has feelings for. She can see the wall he has placed around himself but she knows the good man he is inside. She is determined to help him realize he is still that man who worked so hard to protect the soldiers in his command.

As Dominic heart starts to soften towards his wife, he will have to step in to protect her as it seems someone may be trying to kill her. The suspense of this story keeps you on edge wondering who to suspect.

I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest unbiased review.

A unique marriage-of-convenience between a broken soldier who doesn’t remember marrying his wife and the gentle woman who never gave up on him.

After nearly dying on the continent, Dominic returns from war as a titled gentleman with a wife he does not remember marrying. Intent on annulment, Dominic goes to confront her and ends up rescuing her from an abusive home situation.

Dorothea travelled with her father to the continent during the war and helped care for wounded soldiers, Dominic being one of them. As he fought illness, they grew closer and ultimately married. Until Dominic was carted off with the dead. Now returned to her brother’s home in London, Dorothea is belittled and treated incredibly poorly by her brother, until Dominic comes back from the dead and saves her.

Their love story is one of second chances and learning to allow yourself to be loved even when you do not believe you deserve it.

Both of these characters are so strong and have faced many hardships in their lives and it was so sweet to watch them grow back together and fall in love. Dorothea shows that we should cling to hope no matter how hopeless the situation feels. Dominic shows that no matter how broken you feel or what situation you came from you are your own person who can forge their own path and that you are deserving of love despite what your fear tells you.

Thank you to Laura for including me on her ARC team! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

This is one of those romances that hooks you right from the start with an emotional punch. Dominic Stevens comes home from war physically and emotionally scarred, but a celebrated hero. Having been on the brink of death, he receives a Barony and is living a life heavy with survivor’s guilt for the men who died saving him. Then he finds out he has a wife he can’t remember—talk about a gut punch.

The wife he can't remember is Dorothea. Believing herself to be a widow, she’s been stuck in an awful living situation with her brother and his wife, so when Dominic shows up, she’s hopeful… until she realizes he isn’t the man she married. He’s cold, closed off, and carrying scars she can’t see.

I loved Dorothea, but Dominic drove me crazy at times! Dorothea was so patient and tried to get Dominic to remember the time they spent together when he was injured, hoping the man she had fallen in love with would emerge once again. The best part of this story was watching these two slowly find their way back to each other—well, in Dominic’s case, finding his way for the first time. Their chemistry felt natural, sometimes sweet, sometimes heartbreaking.

There’s also a touch of danger I wasn't expecting, but thoroughly enjoyed. When Dorothea’s safety is threatened, Dominic has to confront everything he’s been avoiding—including how much he actually cares for her. If you’re into second-chance vibes, wounded heroes, determined heroines, and slow-burn romances that make you feel all the emotions, this is an easy recommendation.

“For a long moment, they stood there, surrounded by the quiet stillness of the room, and it felt as if a blessing lingered in the air. As if love itself had finally found room to breathe.”

Loss, scars, fighting for life and love – To Love a Baron is a beautiful Regency romance. Laura had my attention from the start with a marriage of convenience. Add to that a sunshiny and determined heroine, a gruff but protective hero with a soft heart, an adorable little boy, a threat, a few twists and turns, and a well-written story – this book had my interest from start to finish! Humor and wit are still present, especially through a couple of side characters, but overall, this story feels deeper and more serious than the others.

Some favorite moments – anytime Tristan is in the story, the “don’t touch my wife!” moments, conversations with Niles, Charles, Elsbeth, and Eugenie (characters in previous books), watching Dominic fall more and more in love, and the epilogue!

To Love a Baron is the third book in Laura’s Courting the Unconventional series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but I think it’s even better having read the first two books. It’s fun to see characters from the first books make appearances in this one.

Content – PTSD from war, abuse, threats, deaths of loved ones (prior to story), discussion of the intimacies of marriage (not in detail), kisses-only romance

I received an advance review copy from the author, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

“Well, I choose you,” he said. “I will choose you again and again, for every day we’re given.”

This is a wonderful second-chance romance, with danger, suspense, twists, and romantic tension.

Dominic is scarred and struggling with his being a war “hero”. I loved that he didn’t let the fact that he was a Baron stop him from uncovering the source of the danger to Dorothea in the ways he knew best. I loved Dominic’s growth and acceptance of his love for Dorothea. I really enjoyed the banter between Dominic and his friends, they were the perfect sunny to his grumpy. 😆 Dorothea is compassionate and patient. I loved her determination to keep loving and encouraging Dominic. I also loved her bravery and her trust in Dominic when she was in danger. I was rooting her on as she stood up to her brother. Dominic and Dorothea had an uphill battle to their happily ever after. The epilogue was perfect! 🫠
I loved young Tristan, and his interactions with Dominic were fantastic. I enjoyed seeing the MCs from books 1 and 2 as well.

A few more quotes:
“Thank you,” she said softly. “For saving me… again.” A trace of a smile touched his lips. “I will always save you.” She held his gaze, her breath catching at the sincerity in his words. “I know.”

“I see you, Dominic,” she whispered. “Even when you try to disappear.”

“Thank you.” “I didn’t do anything.” “But you did,” he said, his thumb grazing her skin. “You’ve never looked at me like I’m broken.” “That’s because you aren’t.”

To Love a Baron is the third book in Laura Beer’s Courting the Unconventional series. I loved the first two books in the series, so I was eagerly anticipating this one. Dominic’s character intrigued me in the last book, so I couldn’t wait to read this one. Well, it did not disappoint. I adored it from page 1.

Dominic was a broody man with a past full of hurt and survivor’s guilt. He had basically given up on life even though he was still among the living. Dorothea was also a survivor. She had been through so much, but unlike Dominic, she still wanted to live and thrive. I loved how Beers brought to life the interactions of these opposing views of life. The push and pull between Dominic and Dorothea was so good. Dorothea challenged Dominic in the best possible ways and made him question his life plans. It was so good.

I loved how Dorothea appeared to be fragile, but underneath she was so strong and so bold. It was so fun to see her blossom away from her brother’s home and really learn who she was and what she wanted out of life. Her character arc was so good.

Things to love:
-marriage of convenience
-she fall first
-he falls hard but fights it
-touch her and die moments
-emotional growth
-personal forgiveness and hope
-mystery
-cameos from other books in the series
-slow burn
-epilogue

I adored this book. The romance was slow burn but so good. I loved watching them both fall. It was such a satisfying romance. The book was the perfect addition to this wonderful series.

It seems that whatever I have read last from Laura Beers ends up being my favorite of hers and not surprisingly, To Love a Baron has become my new favorite! Dominic’s and Dorothea’s story is so intriguing and unique, they are married but he doesn’t remember and she thinks he is dead. When Dominic finds out he is married he seeks to find answers. When he meets Dorothea and sees the abusive situation she is living in, he immediately removes her. I don’t think I have seen such a fiercely protective character as what I saw in Dominic. Dorothea is sweet and devoted and truly loves her husband. While Dominic doesn’t plan to stay married to Dorothea, she is determined to show him he is a good and honorable man who deserves happiness and love. I also loved the mystery intertwined in the story that threw a few unexpected twists. To Love a Baron is heart wrenching and heart warming as Dominic and Dorothea fight their demons and find strength in each other. This needs to be added to your TBR pile!

My favorite things:
- The fiercely protective Dominic
- Dorothea’s determined patience
- Anything Tristan!
- Dominic’s friends and their ladies
- Late night kitchen snacks
- Dorothea standing up to her brother
- Emotional growth and hope
- The epilogue!

Tropes: historical romance = marriage of convenience = she falls first = forced proximity = touch her and die = protective MMC = personal growth = sweet kisses

Happy reading!

Dominic Stevens has returned from war a broken man who feels guilty about surviving, what comes to realize to his surprise is that he also has a wife. Dorothea Haverleigh nursed Dominic while on the battlefield and came to love the gentle, caring man he was. I could imagine the shock that both of them had when Dominic returns home. I loved this story of Dorothea never giving up on Dominic, even against all odds. This was such a wonderful story of overcoming past hurts, looking forward, and choosing to hold onto hope.

Things to love:
war hero
second chances
grumpy/sunshine
villain
courage

A favorite quote:
“Treasure what you have. Life can change in the blink of an eye.”

I highly recommend this story. It is the third book in the Courting the Unconventional series, but it can be read as a standalone. There are several characters that are a part of the story whose stories were told in the two previous books, but you will have no trouble following the story. I definitely recommend reading the other books as well.

Such a satisfying story from beginning to end. Dominic and Dorothea are lovely characters, complex and interesting. Dominic’s back story is compelling and allows for him to be the person he is. Victim of childhood abuse, horrors of war, work as a Bow Street runner, and elevation to a Barony, all add to the richness of his character. Dorothea, a woman who is both strong and vulnerable, is equally compelling. Spending time on the continent with her father during his military career and tending to wounded soldiers, followed by time living under the thumb of an abusive brother, have made her an intriguing mixture of compassion and moxy. There are several instances of danger, both for Dominic as well as for Dorothea in which we are able to see shadows of the skills he once used as a Runner. As his doubts in himself and feelings of brokenness threaten to sever them, the love and patience that Dorothea shows continue to ground him. All in all, just a sweet and engaging story that drew me in from the first page.

Dorothea and Dominic... my new favorite alliterative couple. But oh, what would it be like to be married to a man who doesn't remember you as his wife?

I loved the tension in Dominic... he tries so hard to do what he feels is right while wanting something he doesn't think he deserves. Plus, the jump from war-torn soldier to Baron was a big one for this sweet hero. Be prepared to be frustrated with him as he works out his feelings! I wanted to reach through the book and shake him and say, "Do you not see what is right in front of you?"

Poor Dorothea... she is sad because she thinks she is a widow, then elated because she isn't and can leave the shadow of her abusive brother's home, only to be nearly rejected by her husband. The emotional rollercoaster!

Despite some heavier themes, the book stays relatively light-hearted and ends with a spectacular HEA that left me extremely satisfied. This was an excellent addition to the series!

I received a copy of this story from the author for consideration. All thoughts contained here are my own.

My new favorite by Laura Beers! To Love A Baron is the third book in the series but it can easily be read as a standalone. This one of my all time favorite tropes, a marriage of convenience, but this one has a twist!

I loved Dominic! His character has been so intriguing in the other books in the series and I was so excited to get to learn his story. The way he was so kind hearted but yet also so jaded after the horrors he had witnessed as a soldier and his deep seated survivors guilt made my heart so sad for him. The moments when he would lower his guard and be funny and teasing were my favorites. I loved the way he was so fiercely protective of Dorothea from the beginning, as well as he how cared for young Tristan.

Dorothea was so sweet and patient. Her life had been so hard and lonely since her father passed. I loved the way she refused to give up on Dominic and yet also refused to settle for anything less than a loving relationship. Her character arc was absolutely fantastic and I was here for every minute of it!

I did not think it was possible to love a book more than the previous two in this series.... THIS BOOK! These Unconventional ladies and their men!!! Romance, Intrigue, Plot Twist.... eeek! You're going to love it!

The Baron Warwicke (Dominic) and Lady Dorothea both have dealt with so much pain and tragedy in their lives, but in different ways. When Dominic finds out he married her while in a war hospital, he tries to annul the marriage. But the two of them find healing and peace together.

I love this book. I think marriage can be hard and you have to work at it no matter if you already love the person or not. This book shows how working on your friendship and relationship in marriage can bring healing and love.

Things I loved:
- When he finds out he is married
-His protectiveness of her
- Eugenie and Elsbeth
-Lady Sarah's sass with Arabella
-Dorothea's courage and strength
- Late night snack in the kitchen

Laura Beers really outdid herself on this one. I hope you love it as much as I did!

Another wonderful story in this series. Both main characters have suffered a history of abuse, mental and physical, brought on by those that should love them. Dominic left home at a young age to escape an abusive father. After working as a bow Street runner he joined the Royal army. The tragic circumstances of war took a toll on him in many ways. And now he finds out he has a wife he does not remember marrying. Dorothea joined her father on the continent to escape her cruel brother. Now left a widow and her father deceased. She is again reliant on her brother. She is held prisoner in her home. Until her, thought to be dead husband, comes to take her away.. I was thoroughly engaged in this story. So much complexity, raw emotions, surprising turn of events, kept me rooted to my seat. The characters were well written, with many facets to their personalities. I highly recommend this book. It is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone.

Dorothea is a widow mourning the loss both her father and her husband. When Dorothea learns her husband is actually alive, she is overjoyed to leave her abusive brother’s home and start a new life. Is it finally her time for happiness with the man he loves?

Dominic returns from battle with a new title, new fortune, and a wife that he doesn’t remember marrying. When he finds out he married the girl who sat by his beside after he was wounded and presumably dying, he is determined to seek an annulment. After all, how could anyone love him with his scars and haunted past?

To Love a Baron by @author_laura_beers is book 3 in the Courting the Unconventional series but can be read as a standalone.

Things I loved:

🏵️ Dominic’s protective nature
🏵️ Dorothea’s quiet belief
🏵️ The scenes with Tristan and his mother
🏵️ The epilogue 🥹
🏵️ Twists and turns

Many thanks to the author for an ARC of this lovely story to review. All opinions are my own.

Laura Beers does it again!!! This book is phenomenal. It is such an interesting premise and was written with depth and heart.

Dominic has returned from war to heal from his wounds and was made a baron. He is very surprised to find out that he has a wife, Dorothea, who thought she was a war widow. While Dom tries to sort out his emotions , Dorothea tries to help him remember their connection. Can they rediscover their love?

Highlights:
Dom finding out he has a wife 😂
Sharing bread in the kitchen
Dorothea calming Dom
Scamp that is Tristan

I love Dorothea for her kindness and compassion. I love her hidden strength.

I love Dominic for being brave and generous. I love how he can be gentle and protective even when he doesn’t realize it.

““Then let me help you,” she said.
“No one can help me. I’m a lost cause.”
Her lips curled slightly. “That happens to be my
specialty-lost causes.”

The Brief: Dorothea is mourning the death of her husband, until he shows up alive at her door with no memory of the marriage and now a Baron.

The Debrief: This story gave me a bit of Beauty and the Beast vibes (which is my fav fair tale)with Dominic’s wounded soul shadowing him. His survivor grief broke my heart and his kind protectiveness was sweet, but man I was hurting for him. Dorothea had an uphill battle, but her frustration with the situation leaked hope and contentment. All the heart eyes on these two as they decided their future.

♥️Tristan shenanigans and timing
♥️the downfall of the brother
♥️Dominic’s friends
♥️danger and suspense
♥️choosing to love
♥️”my wife”
♥️the happy ending pages

The Rhyme: Dorothea is saved from her cruel brother’s hand, but the marriage isn’t what she expected. Can Dominic find a reason to live and love or will the grief keep Thea neglected?

Part of a series, but this is the first I read so it stands alone. My thoughts. Kissing only.

Laura Beers does not disappoint with her third Courting the Unconventional book. I swear this series just keeps getting better with each book! There is so much exciting drama with this one, such as a husband supposedly back from the dead, a hidden will, and someone out to get our main heroine. I will admit i was super excited with all the drama going on.

I will say I really felt for Dominic as he had his own issues going on and didn't want to burden Dorothea with his issues. Dorothea was such a sweet soul with trying to get through to him and she did not deserve the horrible treatment that her brother and his wife put her through. I will say I was very impressed with the characters in this story.

"Well, I choose you," he said. "I will choose you again and again, for every day we're given."

"You deserve to be loved fully, without condition."

This book will draw you in
This book had me by the second chapter and I didn’t want to stop reading. Dominic Stevens, Baron Warwicke, sees himself as broken, cold, and unworthy of love. Yet he doesn’t hesitate to help a street urchin and his mother in their need. Soon after he discovers that he is married to Dorothea, something he wasn’t aware of. Not only is the marriage valid, but he immediately needs to rescue his wife from an abusive brother. When accidents start occurring at an alarming rate and Dorothea is the victim, Dominic sets out to determine who is behind these acts. A wonderful tale you will not want to put down. I received an early copy and this is my honest review.

I absolutely love Dorothea’s automatic love and faith in Dominic. He may not remember that he married her, but he does remember that she cared for him when he was almost dying. As these two learn about each other and how to be married, it’s impossible not to love them both as they grow.
From the beginning, Dominic has a quiet kindness about him, even though he doesn’t agree with his elevated status. He would do anything to keep Dorthea safe and not ruin her with his own past and demons.

“I see you, Dominic… Even when you try to disappear.”

This was another fantastic addition to the series and I can’t wait to see what comes next!

This one is so good!!!

When a soldier turned nobility finds out he married on his deathbed (which he doesn't remember), he decides he needed to annul said marriage. But when he shows up to where his wife is staying, thinking he is dead, he finds she needs a way out of an abusive situation and takes her with him...

I enjoyed the twists and turns of this unique situation and all that came with it.

Great characters! (Also add in a cute little boy character who shows up at the most inconvenient times, because we love those!!!)

What a great little clean regency romance! This book had only kisses described even though it was about a married couple. There was some violence and attempted murder, but no gore, and everything turned out well in the end. The story kept me on the edge of my seat, and I wondered how much the two main characters would need to go through before things turned out well in the end! Thus, the character growth was pretty spectacular! I also loved the ending, and the hints at the next book to come! I received an ARC copy and this is my review.

Set in Regency England, Laura hits the mark again.
Laura manages to capture the emotion of a war-torn hero and blend it with the anxiety of an uncertain future when Dominic discovers a wife he was unaware he had. How could he possibly have forgotten he got married?
After getting to know her, does he even wish to?
The characters are well thought out, and I can feel the emotion dripping from the pages of this story.
The setting is culturally accurate (which, for me, is a must) and I look forward to reading her next instalment.
Thanks, Laura. A great read.
