A collection of letters, long famous among psychologists, written by a mature woman to two remote friends, mostly about her estranged son. With a preface and six chapters of interpretation by the editor.
"I know of no other case material so rich and exciting and challenging for those who lik eto explore the mysteries of human nature, whether they be students of psychology or devotees of literature or simply observers of life." -From the Editor's Preface
I love reading letters and this set of compelling letters did not disappoint. Jenny expressed her passions, her disappointments, her anger and her everyday struggles succinctly, which provided a close look at the life of women in the late nineteenth/early twentieth centuries and her volatile relationship with her son.
