L'Aigle de Combat

Rate this book

Although this book was also available in Spanish, I chose the English version, and I’m glad I did because it turned out to be a very compelling story. The author builds a world where strength, vulnerability, and love collide in a way that feels both intense and heartfelt. As Gabriela slowly finds her place in Emma’s heart, Emma discovers her own courage through the love they build together. Their connection feels earned, especially with everything they’re both carrying.

I absolutely loved the moment Emma finally put her ex in his place — it was satisfying and empowering, the kind of scene that makes you cheer for her growth. Her best friend Lucy was another highlight; she brings warmth, humor, and loyalty that balance the heavier moments. And Gabriela’s friends add even more depth, making the story feel full, supportive, and alive.

Overall, this book blends military tension, emotional healing, and sapphic romance in a way that kept me engaged from start to finish. It’s a story about finding strength in love, finding courage in vulnerability, and finding your people when you least expect it.

This book was the definition of U-Haul and forced as well as dramatic conflict! I did love the premise of the book with the main character being a fighter pilot in the Air Force! The military is fascinating and quite intriguing to me! But, the worst aspect of this book was the ending! Quite literally ended after they got together not even married, with children, or even a pet! Read at your own risk, prepare to be irritated, to cringe, and hate the ending!

A Great Romance

I loved Emma and Gabriela from the first page. The authors created two wonderful main characters and I got so involved in their story I couldn’t stop reading until the wonderful ending. Both characters are fantastically depicted and their attraction to each other is palpable.
