Fifteen hours to fall in love. One second to lose it all.
On the first day of my medical internship, I expected pressure. Maybe even chaos. I didn’t expect him—Dr. Zachery Bennett, my most regular client at Eden—to be standing in the ER as the head of the department.
Over one explosive, unrelenting shift, the line between who we are inside the hospital and who we pretend to be in the gentlemen’s club, Eden, begins to blur. I fall—harder than I ever meant to.
But when a broken heart begins a deadly rampage in triage, I’m forced to confront the truth I’ve been avoiding: My body is failing. My feelings are real. And the man I was never supposed to love might be the only one who can save me.
We may not survive the next hour. But if we do, neither of us is walking away.

I don't typically DNF after I hit 20%, but this wasn't for me. While it's one a few of you may enjoy, it wasn't my cup of tea (and why that is was entirely subjective).
Firstly, I LOVE an age gap and I also LOVE the daddy kink. I know it's a funny kink for some people, but I personally enjoy it when it's done well. BUT, when there's a huge age gap mixed with the daddy kink, I find it doesn't always work as it feels a little icky. I can overlook it, though. Here, however, in the past, they meet at a sex club/brothel and she immediately calls him daddy while he calls her little one. And, I'm sorry, but LITTLE ONE? Why are we trying to infantilize her further? This dude is in his 40th and she's 20 years younger. I love an age gap, but this type of age gap combined with LITTLE ONE? After she refers to him as daddy? Hell no. Hell no. It makes me think that he wants to f*** his daughter, and that's not hot. Also, in general, little anything makes me cringe because how does one call that out mid-thrust? I'd immediately dry up.
Secondly, I'm not a huge fan of when she's a sex worker UNLESS she was forced into it and it's some sort of trauma or captivity. But when she does it voluntarily and literally sleeps with clients (and not just him - for example, in Dr Stanton by TL Swan, she works in the club but as a bartender and when she's requested by him, she has sex with him. But ONLY him), it's just not my cup of tea. Call me a prude, but I don't love it. I love a strong independent woman who doesn't need to sell her cooch for money just because. No shade to anyone who does it - girl, you do you - but I personally have no interest in reading about it.
Thirdly, I'm not big on the dead wife trope. I don't actually know if she's dead in this, but it's alluded to. Again, I can overlook it but only when it's done well.
FINALLY, the straw that broke the camel's back for me - so to speak - was the unnecessarily sharing. I like my men POSSESSSIVE. If the dude is willing to share her, how am I meant to be believe that he's into her? If he's willingly allowing other men, and not just other men, BUT HIS BESTIES to stick their dick inside of her - that ain't love. #SorryNotSorry. This isn't a why choose.
And, that, my friends, is not for me.
Also, aside from the above I didn't feel much chemistry between the two. Their sexual connection was hot, but I otherwise didn't understand the attraction.
On the plus side, I enjoyed the writing style and it's under 300 pages. So if the above doesn't bother you, give it a go.
If Grey’s Anatomy slipped into something silkier, poured a glass of champagne, and decided to explore its darker, sexier side, Devoured by Eden would be the glorious, heart-pounding result.
This was my first Jade May book and HOLY. HELL. What a way to be introduced. From the very first page, May doesn’t just pull you into the chaos of St. Vincent’s ER; she drags you, breathless and blushing, through fifteen hours of raw emotion, impossible tension, and chemistry that practically crackles off the page.
Chloe is the kind of heroine I’ll be thinking about for weeks: fierce, clever, juggling her medical internship and her secret life at Eden with unapologetic confidence. She’s complex, sensual, and achingly human. And then there’s Dr. Zachery Bennett, the grumpy, controlled, sinfully professional head of the ER, who also happens to be her most regular client at Eden. Yeah, you read that right. So you can imagine how that goes when their worlds collide under the harsh fluorescent lights of the hospital.
What follows is an electrifying mix of desire and vulnerability, where power dynamics melt into something intimate and devastatingly real. May balances the heat with heart, exploring chronic illness, control, and the way love can both break and heal you.
It’s spicy (oh, it burns and makes you needy), but it’s also beautifully written: lush, emotional, and empowering. The kind of book that celebrates women’s sexual freedom with zero shame and all the confidence in the world.
By the end, I wasn’t just invested, I was wrecked in the best possible way. A sensual, emotional, beautifully chaotic rollercoaster that proves Jade May is an author to watch.
Thank you to Grey’s Promotions for the e-ARC and to Jade May for this unforgettable read. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m heading straight back to Eden to catch up on the rest of the series. 🖤
🌸 Tropes: Intern/Doctor, Age Gap, Chronic Illness Representation, Dual-timeline, and fast-paced
✨My Review: First thing I need to say is that this book grabbed my attention from the very first page and did not let go. The tension between the MCs was incredible, and the chemistry had me screaming because it was too much. I really enjoyed the dual-plot writing; it added so much depth and kept me fully immersed. And don’t get me started with the spicy scenes! I was smiling like crazy because of how they were written; they were too good! Also, the side characters were amazing; each character stood out on their own.
With that, I want to say that Jade May's writing is so vivid and emotional, with just the right mix of spice and romance. I also appreciated the thoughtful representation of chronic illness and the combination of a confident, self-assured heroine…and a 20-year age gap (one of my favorite tropes). I finished this book within a day because I couldn’t drop it, so I recommend this book!
Thank you to the author for the opportunity to be an eARC reader!
Never thought they’d see each other outside of Eden, but wow — what a shock when she ends up working under him…Gah, this storyline was so good! It left me wanting more of them and everything they’re into, because holy… they are electric together. I couldn’t put it down! Super short, but absolutely nothing was missing.
Thank you to the author for this arc. This is my honest review. A steamy hospital romance that feels like I’m in a Greys Anatomy episode! This book was soooo good!!! I absolutely DEVOURED this book 😉 The chemistry was off the charts. Jade May once again has written an incredible book that feels so real and raw whilst also being fun and steamy ❤️ Devoured by Eden was equal parts gut wrenching and heartwarming. I went through a roller coaster of emotions while reading.
Moments 🍏 I’d crawl home with his name on my lips if it meant just one more minute in his arms, pretending this is something we never have to give up. 🩺 Because she wasn’t background noise. She was color. Loud, blinding color in a world I’d let fade to grayscale.
“It's not weakness, letting someone peek behind the curtain. I don't have to carry it all alone. And he doesn't have to hold the world up by himself.”
I think it’s no surprise to anyone that I loved this book. This quite literally read as a Grey’s Anatomy episode and I am obsessed. What stood out the most to me with this one was the underlying messages of living and managing chronic illness and not only navigating grief but persevering and allowing yourself to still find love and happiness through that process.
“Now I understand - letting someone in isn't a sign of fragility. It's choosing to feel, even when that terrifies you. Love doesn't stop the bleeding. It means you don't have to bleed alone.”
Don’t get me wrong, while this one was very much character driven and the spice was toned down from the first two books - the spicy scenes Jade gave us was still hot asf and will make you 🥵🤭 - I actually preferred it this way, with the focus being on these characters and the story messages. I loved both Chloe and Zac and I thoroughly enjoyed the development of their relationship. Now I am hanging on for book 4 because damn I needed it like yesterday.
“I used to think you could only love one person at a time. That for someone new to take root, the old love had to wither, or at least make space. But I know now that's bullshit. There's room for both.”
🩺 doctor x intern 💚 age gap with daddy k!nk 🩺 chronic illness rep 💚 medical/suspense thriller 🩺 high stakes & fast paced 💚 dual timeline
I’ve been waiting for this gem from Jade May, and let me tell you, she did not disappoint! This may be my favorite Eden adventure yet.
Devoured by Eden is the story of hospital intern/Eden enchantress - Chloe and head of ER - Zac. The story is told in a dual timeline going back and forth from past to present between each chapter. It covers 15 hours and fills gaps with Flashbacks. I loved this timeline. It kept the story moving at a fast and interesting pace. The story reminded me of Grey’s Anatomy or The Pitt with the spice meter dialed up to caliente.
Zac and Chloe’s chemistry leapt off the page and pulled you in. Not just because of the spice, but the way the story was told. You could feel the electricity in a look, or a subtle brush of skin.
It wasn’t all spice, there was still a very good story line. The author dealt with an event that shook the ER team to its core and had them questioning everything about their lives. They also had to deal with chronic health issues, learning to let others in, and asking for help.
Is it too early to ask when Book 4 will be out? I’m hooked!
If you’re a Grey’s Anatomy lover but crave a little more spice and a touch of secret clubs, Devoured by Eden is absolutely for you.
The story follows Chloe, a med student pushing through her rotations while quietly battling a chronic illness. She’s driven, resilient, and juggling more than most could imagine. Enter Zac, a doctor with a heartbreaking past who pours everything into his patients—until fate throws Chloe back into his path. And not just at the hospital… but at that secret, steamy little place called Eden. 👀
This book hooked me from page one. The short, fast-paced chapters make it impossible to put down—I devoured it (pun intended) in just a few hours. The perfect blend of romance, emotion, spice, and medical drama, all woven together so seamlessly you’ll find yourself rooting for Chloe and Zac from the start.
Highly recommend if you love a story that balances heart, heat, and a touch of hospital chaos. 🩺🔥
Age gap, doctor & intern, medical romantic suspense, & secret club tropes.
I was a little confused at first because of how this book was set up. But once I understood it there was so much depth created by it and I love the storyline. The author constantly flips from the past to the present. In the present, she’s a medical student working in the ER and he’s her hot boss. But in the past she worked in Eden, an exclusive BDSM / sex club, and their relationship bloomed farther than they could imagine. I love both sides, and not just the smut in the past but how even without knowing each other’s real names they connected on an emotional level that was honestly so touching. Both of them have trauma, that cuts deep in their hearts and the healing was beautiful. It took up most of the plot but the turning point in the climax was insane. I was not expecting that plot twists, it upped the stakes so high, and I was clinging onto the words on the page desperate to know what happens next. I just have a little dilemma. It’s odd because part of me is like: girl this man is legit so hung up on his late wife and carries the guilt like an addict on drugs. But another very terrible part of me (that probably developed from reading too much) says: it’s ok, you can fix him.. Regardless this was a great book and gives this a 3.5/5
Oh. My. GOD. I am wrecked in the best possible way. “Devoured by Eden” completely gutted me and then somehow stitched me back together with love, longing, and pure emotion. Jade May really said you want pain and passion? here you go, crybaby—and I DID.
Chloe and Zac own me now. Their chemistry? Off the charts. Their heartbreak? Soul-crushing. Their connection? So deep it made my chest ache. I was literally holding my breath through half the book—between the hospital chaos, the flashbacks, and those tender, stolen moments that felt too intimate to even read.
The way Jade writes chronic illness and strength and vulnerability—just chef’s kiss. It’s real, it’s raw, it’s messy and beautiful. Zac might be my new favorite Eden man—protective, broken, gentle, and utterly done for Chloe. And Chloe? God, she’s a fighter in every sense.
This book devoured me. I cried, I swooned, I screamed at my Kindle like a maniac. Jade May is a magician of emotion and tension and I’ll never recover from this story. Give me every book in this world. I love Chloe and Zac forever.
Jade nailed this story beautifully! It is a fast paced story, with a duel POV and duel timeline but it is done perfectly and sucks you right in.
Chloe and Zac are absolutely beautiful together. They know each other from Eden and he is one of her clients there. So when she shows up for her internship to discover he is her boss, the emotions started pouring out of me. From the tender moments and the connection between these two…I was done for.
And they are both amazing characters. Chloe is pure strength and a fighter. Zac, he may have been a broken man but he was so protective of Chloe and so gentle.
Jade has done it again, third book in this series and its phenomenal. I absolutely loved the first 2 books of the series, and I enjoy the billionaire and gentlemen's club dynamic and those blurred lines each of them are finding with their goddesses from Eden that they're drawn to.
This story follows Zac aka Zaddy and Chloe aka Gigi or Little One- they're lovers in Eden's capacity but she turns up to a new international as a doctor and guess who is her boss? You know it- stressful workplace, close proximity to each other, the tensions are high and palpable and the spice is even higher 🌶🌶🌶
This story has a suspenseful plot and I had to hold my breathe at one point or another because of the extreme situation they found themselves in. The dual POV and dual timeline is something Jade writes beautifully and seamlessly- it makes you so much more involves in reading and ties everything together effortlessly.
The characters have been slowly introduced in the previous book so the anticipation is high to know their story and what's going on between them and it does not disappoint!
Absolutely loved it and now I am super desperate for the next book with Carter and Violet!!!
I did enjoy the way this book switched between the past and the present. We got to see how Chloe and Zac meet and get to know each other as well as how they handle their current situation, and you can see the affection growing between them. And then we find out about Zac's history and there is a tense situation and everything comes to a head! Loved it, as I have all the books in this series.
Okay, wow.. this book took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. Truthfully, I did not care for the first half of the book. The way they interacted through the past and present chapters, and the ending didn't fit the way I thought, however, the second half of the book really pulled me in, and I found myself really enjoying the ending.
Devoured by Eden is the third instalment in Eden series; while it could easily be read as a standalone I wholeheartedly encourage you to read the series…it is all consuming, delicious and quite exquisite!!
Devoured by Eden tells the story of Chloe, our Eden goddess, and Zac, the older, sinfully handsome and mysterious client (oh p.s Eden is an exclusive sex club for the elite, rich and untouchable). Just client and goddess until Chloe’s first day as an Intern Doctor, then it becomes Intern and Boss Doctor 🤣 ohhh yeah!!!
The book jumps from past to present to tell their story and I was instantly and totally sucked in from page one! I would have gobbled it up in one sitting if not for life (such an annoyance 🤣). Jade’s writing is *chef kiss*, her spice had me gaga (seriously…I will never think of c0€k warming the same way again) and her storytelling is gripping, emotional and just f*cken brilliant to be honest 🙊
But as always with Jade there is more to the story, questions that need answering and teasing suspense! Ripper combination!
And a note of empowerment…take control of your story ladies 💪 Chloe is an inspiration!
I really loved Devoured by Eden not only because it centered around Dr. Zac but because Chloe is working another job. This job is how she meets Z or Zaddy.
The 15 hours in this book will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions. From feeling horrible for Chloe who has to deal with a chronic illness all the while taking care of others on her first rotation in the ED. & having Zac deal with an emergency at the hospital while on shift. Devoured by Eden is going to pull you in, take a hold of you... and really, honestly, you won't put the book down until you're finished.
The dynamic between these two is hard to deny and everyone can see it.
Thank you to Grey's Promos and the author for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
Love doesn’t stop the bleeding. It means you don’t have to bleed alone.
Devoured by Eden felt like falling into a dream. I had big expectations, and somehow it still managed to give me more — more emotion, more ache, more magic. It’s a story that steals a few hours of your life and hands you a piece of heaven in return.
Chloe completely owned my heart. a goddess who’s as strong and smart as she is kind and imperfect. You can feel her fighting to balance the goddess and the girl, the myth and the human.
And then there’s Zac. God, Zac. He walks in and the lines between fantasy and reality just melt. The way their worlds crash together — it’s tender, chaotic, and alive.
My only real issue? It ended too soon. I wanted more of them. More stolen moments, more chaos, more softness. I could’ve read a hundred more pages of these two. They were everything I’d hoped for and more.
Thank you to Grey's Promotion for an ARC of this book.
Jade May has done it again!!! Devoured by Eden is amazing!! The scenes are phenomenally written and will keep you on the edge of your seat in suspense. The spice is right there with the plot, amazing. This story came together so well I read it in one sitting. Could not put it down. I am here for Chloe and Zac!!!
Devoured by Eden by Jade May was a wild ride - the entire book took place in dual timelines - one of them being a fifteen hour shift at the hospital.
It was Chloe’s first day as an intern in the ER and the one person she never expected to see - especially outside of Eden - is head of ER Dr. Zachery Bennett. The secret between them, the chaotic hospital setting and the extremely entertaining side characters made this book fast paced and so easy to eat up!!
It’s not only spicy but it’s emotional and real - and when everyone is faced with a catastrophic situation, they must deal with feelings they’ve pushed deep down.
This was my first Jade May book and WOW!!! This is a book, and series, to watch out for! Preorder and download your copy on November 5th
Fun and full of spice! Great characters and loved the Greys Anatomy vibe. Also love the attention to detail when bringing in past characters as so many authors forget when writing a third book into a series! If you like spice and an HEA this book is for you! But I highly recommend reading Books 1 and 2 first.
I love how the chapters are written to explain Chloe’s and Zac’s life at Eden before she was an intern at his hospital. It goes into detail about how they met at Eden and got that chemistry sparking.
This is the kind of book that celebrates women’s sexual freedom with zero shame. It also explores chronic illness and control
I absolutely loved Chloe and Zac and enjoyed the development in their relationship.
Book 3 and what a book this is, Jade has outdone herself on this one.
Zac and Chloe’s story had me hooked from the start, these two were delight to read.
What you get from this book is a gentleman club, feeling like you are reading scenes from Greys anatomy and grief you might thing why do I want to read about grief but Jade covers this part perfectly showing you it’s ok to move on when you lose someone.
I loved Chloe’s character how strong she is and love how she makes friends with Jax her fellow intern.
As ever when you have a gentleman club there is steamy scenes my god some were🔥
Where should I even begin with this one. Chloe is such a strong women in her own way. She is fighting her own medical battles while trying to become a doctor herself and working at Eden to pay for her schooling. She meets Zac while at Eden and the two of them hit it off on the first night. They dont know anything personal about one another but they make it work by seeing each other there and slowly doing things outside of Eden. You will see the two of them go through there own emotional battles and conquer them together. Absolutely loved this medical romance! Jade you knocked this one out of the park!
I devoured this book less than 48 hours 😅 I thoroughly enjoyed the dual storylines (past and present) so we got to see the sexy build up of Chloe and Zac's relationship. As with all Eden books, the spice did not disappoint 🥵❤️🔥
I would rate this a 5/5 spice level (I rarely rate that high) with too many sexy scenes to count starting early on in the novel 👀 I mean, it does take place at a sex club 😉
This book reads like how you’d want a medical drama to play out- yet so much better!
May gives us 2 deeply complex and very real human characters who are working through very hard things. The story is told in a duel timeline that just works so beautifully for this story and i loved how the story unfolded. The MCs find each other and are drawn to each other and form a relationship that grows in such a unique way. I love who they were together and how they cared for each other.
May struck a perfect balance between heart and heat and delved into very personal and sticky emotions in such a special way. I love this book so much. No third act break up, very good communication, very likable yet complex characters and the plot didn’t lag either. So well done!
From the very first page, I felt pulled into Chloe’s world. Her ambition and determination weren't just a side note but part of who she is. It’s refreshing to see a heroine whose body has history, whose strength co-exists with vulnerability. The author handles that with respect and realism, which made the emotional investment all the deeper.
Then there’s Zac—sinfully competent, carrying his own past heavier than most. Their worlds collide in a way that feels both inevitable and volatile: a nightlife you’d keep secret meets the high-stakes reality of an ER shift. The dual-timeline structure works nicely to show “then” and “now” side by side, letting us see both the instant magnetism they shared and the much tougher, more complicated present
What I loved most:
The chemistry between them vibrates—raw, messy, grounded. They aren’t perfect. They don’t always know what to do. And that makes them real in a romance that could so easily have been surface-only.
The setting: a medical ward where lives hinge on seconds, and a clandestine club where identities are hidden. The contrast keeps things sharp and propulsive.
The representation: chronic illness, grief, power dynamics. The book treats them not as “quirks” but as real forces. One reviewer put it:
“The way Jade writes chronic illness and strength and vulnerability—just chef’s kiss.” Goodreads
Where it didn’t quite hit gold:
Because the plot compresses a lot of big moments into a relatively short timeframe (one ER shift + flashbacks), some things felt raced. I would have loved another 50-100 pages of “what happens after the big crisis,” the slow rebuild, the normal-life moments.
The tropes are there—intern/doctor, age gap, secret-club identities—handled well, but familiar. For readers very attuned to trope-watching, it may echo other stories.
Some subplots (especially around secondary characters) felt like tantalising teasers rather than fully rounded threads. It left me wishing for more.
Overall? This is a strong 4-star read. It hit hard where it mattered—emotionally, physically, thematically—and left me satisfied, even if I craved a bit more filling. It’s not quite “perfect” for me, but it is wonderfully done.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely—for someone who wants romance with heat and heart, who wants characters with baggage and stakes, who doesn’t mind a fast-paced ride with substantial emotional undercurrents. If you prefer slow-burning, long epilogues, or minimal spice, you may want to be aware of the tone here.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again if Jade writes it, I’m absolutely reading it. This brilliant Aussie author knows exactly how to hook a reader from page one and take them on an unforgettable, emotional, and downright addictive ride. Jade’s writing is beautiful, raw, and vulnerable the perfect mix of power, intimacy, and heart. The way she portrays chronic illness, strength, and the messy beauty of vulnerability is nothing short of perfection. It’s real. It’s relatable. And it hits hard. In Devoured by Eden, we follow Zac and Chloe or Zaddy and Gigi, a Goddess of Eden. When Chloe starts her first hospital rotation as an intern, the last person she expects to see is her lover… and now, her new boss. From the moment she walks into St. Vincent’s ER, the tension is electric 15 hours of raw emotion, impossible chemistry, and heart pounding heat that practically melts off the page. Jade takes us through a seamless past and present timeline that pulls you right in. Their connection is magnetic the perfect storm of forbidden workplace tension, emotional depth, and scorching spice. Chloe’s strength and resilience shine as she battles her own medical challenges while chasing her dreams, and Zac… well, Zaddy Zac might just ruin you for all other book boyfriends. Loving, kind, dominant he’s everything Chloe needs and more. Together, they fight their demons and come out stronger than ever. This book is the perfect blend of emotion, passion, and medical drama with banter that’ll make you grin and chemistry that’ll set your Kindle on fire. I devoured this story (pun intended) and loved every second. Seeing Cora & James and Hailee & Dameon again was such a treat, and now I’m desperate for book 4 Unleashed by Eden Carter & Violet, I’m coming for you next! If you love stories that balance heart, heat, and a healthy dose of hospital chaos Devoured by Eden is your next must-read.
