Taking her was never the plan, but keeping her was unavoidable. Brielle Graves
I’ve survived loss, hunger, and a life that never gave me room to breathe.
Losing my mother taught me not to give my heart to others. So when a stranger takes me, I do what I’ve always done: fight, plan, endure.
But he isn’t what I expected. He watches me like I matter, like I’m something worth keeping. I try to hate him. I try to run. Instead, I’m pulled into something far worse—a world where bodies are currency and hope is a liability.
If I want to survive, I’ll have to decide whether trusting him will save me or destroy what’s left of me.
Emris Reed
She was never supposed to be mine. One moment, one mistake, and I can’t let her go.
I tell myself it’s about fixing what happened, but the truth is darker: I want her, and I will make her mine.
I stole her freedom, but I gave her my heart, and I’m willing to burn everything to keep her.
When she’s taken, guilt turns into obsession, and I’ll tear apart every shadowed corner of this world to get her back.
Now She’s Mine is dark, obsessive, and emotionally charged, the kind of story that grabs you by the wrist and doesn’t let go.
Brielle is a survivor through and through. Life has already carved resilience into her bones long before Emris ever enters the picture. I loved that about her. She doesn’t crumble. She calculates. She endures. Even when she’s taken, even when the world shifts beneath her feet, she stays sharp. That quiet strength makes the emotional tension hit even harder.
Emris? Oh, he’s the dangerous kind. The “one mistake changed everything” type who tells himself it was an accident, when deep down he knows it wasn’t just circumstance it was desire. His obsession feels raw and intense, but what makes him compelling is the guilt woven through it. He didn’t just take her freedom; he gave her his heart in the process. And that internal war between possession and protection drives the story beautifully.
The world around them is grim and unforgiving where bodies are currency and trust is a risk. The stakes feel real, and when Brielle is taken again, Emris’s descent into single-minded fury is exactly the kind of dark romance chaos readers crave. He’s not heroic in the traditional sense. He’s relentless.
If you love kidnapping-to-obsession arcs, morally gray men who burn the world for their girl, and resilient heroines who refuse to be broken, Now She’s Mine will absolutely satisfy that craving. It’s intense, messy, and full of that dangerous devotion that makes dark romance so addictive. 🖤🔥
This was so unexpected! I came into this as an arc reader with only tropes and triggers as a hint of what the book would be. And boy did it go in a direction I wasn’t prepared for!
This is a series starter and we meet a lot of characters along the way. The story of the couple in this book is basically resolved but there’s a lot left up in the air from the surrounding storyline and supporting characters.
I’m so excited for the rest of the books in this new series! There’s some really intriguing little teasers in this book to set up future books. I’m definitely hooked in already!
Overall a thrilling read. The MMC 🥵 the FMC 💪🏻 and together the spice is spicy haha! But it’s genuinely a really good mix of spice and storyline. Can’t wait for more!
🖤 BETA Review 🥀 Thank you endlessly @arayne for trusting me once again with your incredible writing. I'd like to preface this saying that everything I'm about to say is completely unbiased and I'm not just saying it because I love you, I'm saying it because it's true okay? 🖤🥀
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ( ♾️)
Review: Now then, first of all, fucking OUCH, like big ouch. This mf hurt like a bitch, and sure it's partly because I'm a tad extra emotional lately but still. Emris and Brielle are literally fucking perfect. Like there's not a single flaw between either of them, they don't just make sense, they don't just work, they complete each other. They're exactly what the other needs in every way.
From our first meeting with Emris I knew I was going to love him, I've loved all of A. Rayne's men so far (the good ones) but Emris is by FAR my favourite of her MMCs. He's fucking perfect in every way. There's not a single thing I would change about this man, nothing at all. And as for Brielle? She's an absolute ICON, i love everything about her. I wanna be her when I grow up. I loved how no matter what, she never gave up, she never stopped fighting for herself, or for Emris. I loved how she point blank refused to take shit from anyone, Emris included. She never once hesitated to defend herself. I have to, like HAVE to highlight Killian and Bri's newfound friendship and bonding over chicken and sunny d. Completely valid, and exceptional choices. Not liking Criminal Minds is a bit of a red flag, but for Killian I can overlook that for sure.
If Jasper doesn't get his girl, I WILL riot. Like nuh uh, not kidding. that man must have seen and been through some fucking horrible things, give him his girl back right now, he deserves happiness. I think it's safe to say I rather enjoyed this book, it's my favourite of her books. It's one of my favourite books in general actually, and I cannot explain how grateful and honoured I am that you trust me as much as you do. It's always such a privilege reading for you, in any format. Whether it means waiting until the book is released, because I KNOW it will be worth the wait, or reading it super early. It's always one of my favourite things.
A. Rayne is an exceptional author, the way she writes is addicting and no matter what. Her characters are written in a way that makes it so easy to fall in love with them. To be happy and hurt for them, to feel their pain and feel as if you know them in real life. and boy do I wish I did know her characters in real life, they're all perfect.
Oh my god, my heart! These characters just spoke to me. I loved them so much.
In some books you can just pick how things are going to turn out when certain plots are revealed.. but i have to say, i was surprised with how certain parts of this turned out. There were some parts that just shocked me and I wasn't expecting it. The storylibe of this book is honestly so good and i juet loved it.
Brielle was just a boss ass bitch and she has just been through hell and managed to make it through to the other side, with her hot as fuck capture. I honestly could not have been strong enough to gk through all what she has been through.. and I'm talking pre kidnapping...
Emris.. my guy literally seen Brielle and was just like "I want it... I got it..."... and that is just romantic and we love that. Emris was a great character, I just loved the intense and raw obsession he had for her, but don't get me wrong, he felt guilt over taking away her freedom, and you see that throughout his chapters.
Emris really gives big dick energy and i love it, and my morally grey man's possessiveness and obsession cranks up to 1,000 when Brielle gets taken again, and even though he is so close to her byt can't get to her... watching him battle with his rage, both at the bad guys and even himself for putting her in tge position to be taken in the first place... when she is in danger you see him go to extreme lengths to geg to her just to keep her safe.
I honestly am so excited to read more of this series. Just to be able to see these characters again, as well as getting to know the side characters better and to be able to see more of Killian, Archer, Carson and even Jasper. You just know you are going to fall in love with a series when you love the side characters in the first book.
If you like, a morally grey MMC who would kill anyone who touches his girl... then this book is absolutely for you... Emris is such a great character.
PLEASE CHECK TRIGGER WARNINGS BEFORE READING BECAUSE THIS IS A DARK ROMANCE AND WILL NOT BE FOR EVERYONE... SO KNOW YOUR LIMITS AND HAPPY READING!!
Thank you so much to a. Rayne for the ARC. All thoughts are my own.
First thing I will say is CHECK YOUR TRIGGER WARNINGS! 🤣👌 This book not just tells the story of the MMC and FMC, It starts to build a world around them. There will be more books and I can't wait to see what happens to all these side characters because you start to build your likes and dislikes very early into the book. I can't give too much away because I will not spoil, but it is about a bunch of lads (including the main character) who are trying to shut down a trafficking ring and end up being pulled into more than they can chew. The FMC is very strong willed and been through a lot already, but that helps her survive the ordeal that are coming. The end either felt really fast and rushed..... Or I just enjoyed it so much that I got pissy it was ending. Both can be true at the same time. Overall, This book = heartbreak, funny, spicy. The tension? Immaculate. The emotions? Break my fucking heart. The romance? I loved the fact that he knew he wanted her and eased her into falling for him. He's a proper scary killer and he made her feel safe. 👌
If you’re into so many triggers that you're left emotionally stunted by the end of it...don’t miss this one.
Now She’s Mine by A. Rayne completely caught me off guard in the best way. I went in curious and walked away fully consumed by Brielle and Emris’s story.
Brielle is barely holding her life together after losing her mother to cancer, working long nights at a bar just to survive. Then one mistake changes everything—kidnapped by two men who think she’s someone else. Carson may have made the error, but it’s Emris who becomes utterly captivated. What unfolds is a dark, tension-filled story of captivity, obsession, and an undeniable pull neither of them can escape.
Emris is possessive, intense, and unapologetically controlling—but beneath that darkness is a fierce determination that slowly unravels Brielle’s fear and resistance. Even as she tries to escape, even as she doesn’t understand why she was taken, the chemistry between them burns hot and dangerous. The emotional push and pull kept me completely invested.
Layered beneath their volatile connection is a high-stakes mission to dismantle a sex trafficking ring, with Brielle’s boss at the center. As truths surface and danger escalates, their fragile bond is tested in ways that had my heart racing. And when everything seems poised to shatter, you’re left wondering if love can possibly survive the fallout.
Brielle just lost her mother, the only person she had in the world. Now shes working as a bartender, at The Whiskey and struggling to pay rent. One night at work she is accidentally kidnapped, which in turn, opens her eyes to a world she never knew she was already a part of.
Emris has a job to do. Find and catch people-traffickers. After his partner kidnaps the wrong girl, he must right this wrong. However this girl is not like anyone he has ever met. His obsession with Brielle begins. He will do whatever he needs to do to make her his, along with keeping her safe from the people he is hunting.

I really enjoyed this read. The story was captivating and sucks you in. I kept telling myself only one more chapter but couldn't put it down. It has some twists you'll see coming & a few you won't. The characters are easy to fall in love with, and I am happy that they got a happy ending, after everything they endured. It's got tension, suspense, humor and spicy scenes. I look forward to the rest of the books in The Men of Jamestown Series.
this was amazing and hooked me so quick! i just went through a rollercoaster of emotions but it was all so worth it 🥹 Emris and Brielle are precious and need to be protected at all costs. Brielle is my favorite type of fmc, she’s feisty, bold, strong and sassy. she had me giggling at her comebacks and the things she did. Emris is very possessive and protective which ofc i love 🙂↕️ their story will be stuck in my head for a while bc omg. the spice? so good 🤭 the plot? incredible, i’m very invested! but also towards the end some things broke my heart 😭 when i say i went through a rollercoaster of emotions i really mean it. i was smiling, laughing, shocked, angry, sad and probably more lmao but again it’s all so worth it in the end, seeing my bbys happy and healing put all the pieces of my heart back together 🥹 also i love that we get some more info about some people 👀 and i’m very excited for what comes next 🖤 ︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶ one of my fav quotes from the book:
“She tastes perfect. A perfect mix of everything. Something addictive. Something I can’t see myself getting enough of.” 🤭🙂↕️
First thing I’ll say is check your trigger warnings because this one does not hold your hand at all 👌 the world is dark, brutal, and unforgiving where bodies feel like currency and trusting anyone is a risk, and you feel that the whole time. It’s not just about Emris and Brielle either, it starts building this bigger world around them with all these side characters you quickly form opinions on, and I’m already waiting to see where their stories go next. When Brielle is taken again everything just spirals and Emris goes full single-minded, burn-everything-down mode, and he’s not some polished hero, he’s relentless and a little terrifying in the way dark romance does so well. The whole thing leans into that kidnapping-to-obsession energy with a morally grey man who would destroy the world for her, while Brielle holds her own as someone who’s already been through so much but refuses to break, and without giving anything away, it all kicks off from this group of guys trying to take down a trafficking ring and getting dragged way deeper than they expected. It’s intense, messy, addictive, and exactly the kind of chaos you sign up for with a story like this.
How do I review this without giving too much away?
This is the first book in the Men of Jamestown series, and it sets the tone perfectly. The character and world building were easy to follow, nothing overly complicated, just solid groundwork that lets you settle into the story quickly.
The plot? So good. And the plot twists? Even better. There were moments where I had to message A. Rayne just to process how I was feeling. That’s how invested I was.
Both the MMC and FMC are strong-willed, layered, and carrying their own beliefs that they’re somehow unworthy of love. Watching that dynamic unfold was compelling and very frustrating in the best way.
Please check your triggers before diving in. There are heavy themes here, and your mental health always comes first. I won’t say I wasn’t triggered, but I will say there were scenes that had me so fired up I wanted to jump into the book myself and handle certain characters personally.
Overall, this was intense, emotional, and a strong start to the series. I’ll definitely be continuing.
-ARC- This book took me by surprise in so many ways! Call me psycho but I actually loved Emris from the start. If I was going to be kidnapped I’d definitely hope and pray it was a tattoo’d man full of muscles and an actual heart with feelings! He might have held her against her will but how could he not? He wanted what he wanted hahaha! Anyway this book had so many twists and turns and I still feel like I don’t believe some of it happened! Brielle has struggled through so much of her life and been handed life’s shit cards left right and centre and I’m so glad she found Emris, even if by accidental kidnapping. The connection between the two was just everything! I can’t say I’ve read many dark romance books where both the FMC and MMC end up in the plot twist and can’t help each other but it had me wanting to read with one eye closed and my kindle turned half away from me with suspense! I cannot wait for the next book and I NEED Killian to get his turn to share that big heart of his with someone special! 😍

this book was phenomenal my first ever full length novel by a rayne and i devoured it and left no crumbs. this series is going to wreck havoc on my soul and i can’t wait for what comes next. these two sole my soul and aren’t giving it back, i was absolutely blown away by their story and i want more even though there story is complete. I can’t even begin to describe how much the last 50% wrecked havoc on me. I loved this so much and I need more so bad. thank you so much for the arc!
Now She’s Mine is a dark, captivating romantic suspense that hooks you from the very first page. The story follows Brielle, a strong willed bartender, and Emris, a possessive hero hunting down traffickers who accidentally kidnaps the wrong girl. Their dynamic is intense and messy, leaning perfectly into that obsessive, burn the world down for her energy that makes for a truly addictive dark romance.
The world building is brutal and raw, filled with side characters that leave you wanting more of their stories. It’s an emotional rollercoaster at times heartbreaking and at others surprisingly funny with a plot that keeps you guessing until the end. If you’re looking for a gritty, high stakes read with plenty of spice and a hard earned happy ending, this is definitely one to pick up. Just be sure to heed the trigger warnings!
I’m still reeling from Now She’s Mine—I absolutely loved every second of this story. A. Rayne has delivered a brilliant, gripping read that pulls you in immediately and never lets go. If you love a protective, dangerous man who would rather watch the world burn than lose what belongs to him, you need to read this.
Brielle is an absolute force of nature—her resilience is beyond belief. Emris is obsessive, possessive, pure alpha energy that I can’t get enough of, and his obsession with her is downright visceral. When Brielle is snatched away again, the raw, unfiltered fury that consumes him is exactly the kind of darkness readers live for.
*Please read trigger and content warnings.*
I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advanced copy.
Now She's Mine by A. Rayne has so many ups and downs. I could not stop reading this one and right off the bat, I was hooked.
Brielle is barley holding it all together after losing her mother to cancer. She works long nights to just get by. She is stubborn and sassy. Emris is possessive and controlling. He does care for those he loves but doesn't like to show it. Brielle and Emris are polar opposites and are attracted to each other.
Please read your trigger warnings, that is a huge thing. A. Rayne did an amazing job with this book and I cannot wait to see what is next to come.
Wow… where do I even start? This book was genuinely a masterpiece. The emotional rollercoaster I went on throughout the whole of this story was definitely worth it. Emris and Brielle will forever be in my mind and my heart. The writing, the characters, the storyline—all of it was absolutely beautiful. A Rayne has knocked it out the park with this one. It’s by far my favourite book that she’s published. There’s so much I want to say, but I don’t want to give anything away🫣 just know, this is an amazing book and I’d highly recommend reading it!
Now She’s Mine completely consumed me. I went in expecting a dark, possessive romance, but it delivered so much more — tension, obsession, emotional chaos, and undeniable chemistry. The dynamic between the leads felt intense and addictive, especially the slow shift from control to vulnerability. The spicy scenes were bold and well-placed, but what really stayed with me was the emotional undercurrent beneath all that dominance. It wasn’t just physical — it was psychological, raw, and messy in the best way. Some moments felt extreme, but that’s exactly why I couldn’t stop reading
Such a great but very dark book. The characters are flawed and have dealt with some trauma in their lives but when they find eachother and finally give in to their feelings, i just couldn't get enoug of them. The possesiveness, the darkness, the way they would give everything just to be together. So good! The bigger picture of this book series comes to mention later in this book and i am so excited to get to know the other couples and where the bigger picture comes to an end. Hopefully with some well deserved revenge.
Please check your trigger warnings before you start reading!
Brielle was such a fun character to get to know, sassy and independent af, but also secretly soft and emotionally vulnerable. Emeris is ruthless, but has a conscious. I love and appreciate that he is a protector with boundaries and that we were able to get a glimpse of Brielle crossing those for him. I enjoyed getting a glimpse at some of the personalities in the other characters that are in the series. I cant wait to see what happens with them!
Okay I may have mixed up the reading order between this and Make Him Mine… my bad 😅😂
Anywayyy… A. Rayne always knows how to keep me glued to the pages. I mean girl, have some mercy… I work a full-time job, I cannot stay up all night reading your books! (I’m totally kidding… I can and I will… always 🤩)
The tension between Brielle and Emris was amazing from the start, and now I’m definitely using him as my standard when it comes to the obsessed MMC trope… like are you kidding me???
I’m loving this series so much and I can’t wait to read the next book. I need to know what happens next!!!
If you love intense chemistry and an obsessed MMC who will absolutely ruin your standards… you might want to add this to your TBR 👀
WOW!!!!! I received this book early and DEVOURED it!!!! Brielle and Em’s story is just AMAZING!!!! She is feisty and it makes me laugh!! The banter between them is sooo GOOD! They both go through some traumatic things…but the way they heal and compete each other just makes my ♥️ so happy! There were some shocking moments..some twists and turns I did not expect! It made it so much better! If you have triggers definitely check them. Definitely recommend!
Absolutely loved this book. I devoured it! Something about the plot makes me think of all the bad in the world and it makes my heart hurt! The plot was great so was the spice. I can't wait to figure out what happens next!
Well well well! This damn book took a TURN!!! The SECRETSSSS👀
Trying to find answers, Emeris and his buddy end up grabbing the wrong girl! Oops Which ended up being a good thing since now Emeris was gonna protect Brielle at all COSTS…until she ends up in the wrong hands.
Brielle, confused…not knowing how to really feel. Maybe thinking it’s all a dream. She’s a TRUE survivor.
Read the TWS cause this is a dark romance and some tough topics are there.
Thank you A. Rayne for giving me the opportunity to read Now She’s Mine in advance.
When I was asked if I would be interested in Alpha reading and I saw “accidental kidnapping” on the menu I was all in!
Brielle is such a strong and resilient FMC and I loved watching her throughout the book. And her friendship with Killian was so sweet bonding over chickie tendies and Sunny D.
Emris…. Gahhhhh I love him and we all need an Emris in our lives.
This was such a great start to the Jamestown Series!!
Loved this book SOO much. Emris is OBSESSED, like immediate - unapologetic obsession, that is intense and doesn't falter the entire book. Brielle is a fighter, she doesn't take anyone's BS, and has such an endearing personality. Perfect kidnapped-to-lovers, possessive, touch-her-and-☠️, with a found family vibe that has me dying to see more of this world and what happens in it!!!!!!!!!
