Whimsical, witty, and wildly captivating—a forbidden romance that defines love. Literally.

You’re cordially invited!

Hear ye! Hear ye! In three days’ time, the royal wedding shall commence!
Cherished moon goddess, Queen Enke, is off to wed the Prince of Pirius, and the land’s peace depends on it. But the road to her marriage complicates when a high-paying bounty fractures her pampered lifestyle. Stripped of her transport, the queen braves lethal conflicts, haughty struggles, and faces countless filthy liars, all while escorted by a Knight of the Star. Despite his dishonorable nature, Sir Loyalty is a man who cannot tell lies, which mixes poorly with the queen’s fondness for them.

As a situational alliance forms, can they set aside their dislike of one another to reach the altar? Thus, nobody knows how life-changing their journey may be; of who would try to stop them and how they’d try to do it; of the unbreakable vows of each and how they might bend; of what great tragedy could occur, if by accident, in a land erased of it, the word love exchanged between them…

Please join us for the wedding celebration!

Now this is what I mean when I say I want to read a fantasy romance book. I don't need the romance to be built upon attraction & lustful thoughts, I need whatever the hell this is.

Love & Liars tells the story of a queen & her knight and it does it so very nicely. You don't need to convince me to read a book that comes with the promise of forbidden romance, one with queen x knight the less.

This was just delightful to read. The prose was beautiful and captivating from the very beginning. I'm used to reading fantasy novels that are way too serious so I had no idea how heavily I would love something little more satire & lighthearted. The whole dynamic between Casio & Julia, the dialogue, it was just so refreshing and entertaining. Both leads were enjoyable to follow, especially Casio and his sass.

“I apologize if the truth hurts.” He lingered close. “But it’s my virtue.”

Like… yes please 🙂‍↔️.

I live for the way love is portrayed here, or rather the way it's slowly unveiled for our main couple. I have a fondness for characters who journey to understand love. Like this is my shittt, my deepest gratitude for the arc that I got in exchange for an honest review <3.

(And to quote Sir Loyalty, I do not tell lies.)

As some that’s has a hard time sticking to one book at a time I’ll say that I wish I took my time with love and liars the emotional roller coaster that I just went through made me appreciate it even more. It has made me really question the definition of love and if love only end in happily ever after or just another heartbreak and what sacrifice one has to faces to gain that true love everyone desires.
Even tho Love and liars has been one of the shortest novels I have read so far it has become one of my favorite and one I’ll come back to over and over again.

Thank you Phillip Marker for this beautiful novel

Love & Liars is a refreshing read for fantasy-romance lovers, and a fabulous introduction for readers new to the genre. The pacing was perfect. The romance was top tier. This was a whimsical love story with action-packed fight scenes, laugh-out-loud satirical comedy, and swoon worthy yearning. This book doesn’t take itself too seriously, while simultaneously giving us the most insightful quotes about love.
“She believed love was a knife, one given to your partner to hold behind their back- perhaps that’s why you had to trust them so dearly.” I was not expecting to cry on a Thursday night, but here we are and I’m not even mad about it! This story was very heartwarming.

I had soooo much fun with this one!! Took me a bit to get through because life, but when I wasn't reading this I was thinking about it.

This is fantasy with a forbidden romance between a queen and a knight. I really loved the two main characters and I kept rooting for them all throughout the book. Their tension, especially in the beginning, was EVERYTHING to me!!

A sweet love story. It made my heart ache in places because this tale only ends one way. I loved the characters. The banter so was fun and the storytelling was almost poetry. I gave it five stars because it is one of those books where you sigh for a love you never knew you were missing. (And I’m happily married.) A true treat.

2.5⭐️

This one was so weird. It was written in a mechanical way that made it hard to really connect with any of the characters. Getting to 50% was so hard. 😭 After the midpoint, it did start to pick up, but the end kind of fell flat after all the build up.
