Listen. I was sick. I was miserable. I was lying in bed, questioning life. And then Butterfly landed in my lap like a sexy little gift from the smut gods. And friends—let me tell you—I ascended.

Harley Madison? I already love her writing. So when I saw the words “42 pages,” “ARC,” and “no plot, only spice,” my goblin fingers were already downloading. By the first paragraph—WEIGHTED NIPPLE CLAMPS, people—I knew I was in for a ride. A filthy, glorious, sinfully satisfying ride.

We’ve got MFM. We’ve got FF. We’ve got a husband who said, “Hey babe,have fun with your friends.” LIKE, SIR? THAT’S LOVE. That’s trust. That’s kinky poly excellence. I am down for whatever kind of open marriage agreement this is.

It was one spicy scene after another. No breaks. No plot detours. Just straight-up steam that melted my brain and made me forget my sore throat existed. 10/10 doctor-prescribed.

Is this a deep literary experience? No. Did I care? Absolutely not. Sometimes you don’t want feelings. Sometimes you just want to read about hot people doing hot things with clear consent and a lot of lube.

El haber tenido que leer esto no ironicamente por beneficio de Paula me ha desmotrado 2 cosas: 1, que nunca tienes que fiarte de una mujer, 2, que si paula te dice que tiene un libro de menos de 100 paginas que nos podemos reir por los jajas no es mas que una excusa barata para intentar ver como Lidia se pone roja, aunque su logica contiene ciertas fallas, puesto que Lidia apenas entiende el idioma anglosajon.

Seguramente exista algun tipo de desviado sexual que esto le parezca increiblemente hot, pero mi pregunta es, ¿quien es la protagonista? ¿Por que su marido se llama Husband, con mayuscula?

La implicacion de que su marido simplemente se llame Husband, con la primera letra en mayuscula puede llegar a resultar en cierto modo algun tipo de idolatria por parte de la protagonista, la cual, no tiene nombre, ni personalidad, ni siquiera se enfatiza su aspecto, relegando todo su personaje a segundo plano mientras que solo nos fijamos en sus necesidades, las cuales son solo sexuales. En cierto modo, se puede entender esto como el afan de la autora por querer que el lector, o en este caso, lectora, se pueda sentir en la piel de la protagonista (como si alguien quisiera). Pero, por otro lado, tambien podria ser considerado como un tipo de misoginia, al no dejar que los personajes femeninos tengan algun tipo de desarrollo o personalidad.

Si en algun momento te estas planteando leer esto, te recomiendo que no lo hagas, y en su lugar cojas La Celestina, la cual, no solo tiene personajes femeninos mas desarrollados, sino que tambien trata temas similares a los que trata este libro.

I dove into Butterfly by Harley Madison because, well, I’m a huge fan of her writing—and with a title like that (hello, Butterfly Reader over here), how could I resist?

Filed under: Quick reads that prove spice alone isn’t always enough for me.

This was a short story that felt like one long sex scene. It leans heavily into BDSM and debasing dynamics, which absolutely works for some readers. For me, though, it read more like a sequence of encounters than a fully developed story.

The setup centers around a threesome with two of the husband’s friends, and while the heat level is undeniable, I kept waiting for emotional context or narrative depth that never quite arrived. I’m a reader who needs at least a little story woven into the spice, and this installment just didn’t give me that anchor.

That said, just because it wasn’t for me doesn’t mean it won’t land for someone else. If you’re here strictly for the erotic element and don’t need much plot, this might hit the mark.

And yes… I picked this up because I’m addicted to the Sugar Baby series, so will I read the next short in this collection?

Listen, I don’t know what life Harley has lived that she’s able to write some of the most top tier smut I’ve ever read but I want to have it for myself.

Butterfly is exactly what it says on the tin - a deliciously dirty play date novella. The main character, whose POV the novella is written from, is unnamed which makes you only dive deeper in to the fantasy. We join her as her husband has set up a date with Mason and Eva who they have previously played with and what follows is 40 pages of MFF steam.

If you are looking for a literary experience that will leave you pondering the big questions in life then look away - this one is for us spice lovers!

Highly recommend and cannot wait for more in this series.

Butterfly by Harley Madison was a decent read. I enjoyed the storyline, but I felt it was lacking in some areas. It was a nice, short, spicy, and smutty read, perfect for a quick escape.

While the plot was engaging enough to keep me turning the pages, I did feel that certain parts could have been more developed. I wanted more from the characters and their interactions, and the overall story could have been a bit deeper. However, if you're looking for a book that delivers on the spice and smut, Butterfly definitely delivers.

She thought she was getting dinner. Got double-teamed and dessert instead.

This novella had all the ingredients to be hot: a surprise threesome, a submissive vibe, and plenty of praise — but it never quite took flight. The use of Husband instead of a name felt awkward, like reading a roleplay script with zero emotional investment.

There’s nothing wrong with pure smut for smut’s sake, but even then, I like a little more tension or flavour. It was over before it started, and while the spice was frequent, it lacked the build-up that makes it memorable.

Not the author’s strongest work — especially considering what I know she’s capable of.

A husband sends people (a couple, who happens to be his friends) to have fun with his wife as that’s part of their dynamic. Action packed and filled with curiosity.

Easy to read, you’ll definitely be able to finish it quickly.
May make you want to try it out yourself or create other fantasies.

I like the dynamics of the relationship between the Husband and the FMC but her inner monologue shows that there is a lot of trust between them.
Everything is consensual with safe words established, which I appreciate.

Some little editing errors which don't detract from the story.
